Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1622: Chapter 511: Crushing Defeat—Whose Reinforcements? Same Idea, Part 2

Huff…

The massive blade came crashing down, the noise reverberating in Yang Jian’s ears, forcing him to retreat hastily, his face gaining more anxieties.

“This Sword Puppet has at least the strength of 25 jun, and I’m the only one here who can withstand it. If I don’t keep my eye on it, and Xia Chuan once uses it to target our soldiers, it becomes impossible to fight—damn it…”

Thump thump thump…

Underneath Baimu City, amidst the earth-shaking sounds of battle, a momentary pause occurred due to the hurried footsteps, causing everyone to turn their heads back to the left rear, their expressions freezing for a moment.

Once the shock wore off, a burst of joy erupted on the faces of all Beishuo soldiers, from the soldiers to the commanders, and even the five Xianyang Level experts, including Yang Jian and Yang Fa.

“It’s our people!”

“They’re coming from the west, is it Jingxi’s reinforcements?”

“It must be, reinforcements have arrived.”

“Hahaha, there’s at least ten thousand of them, we’re saved, we’re saved!”

“Brothers, keep pressing forward, the Xia Army’s arrows have run out, break through them, rescue our Beishuo brothers!”

………

This sudden arrival of reinforcements didn’t carry any banners, but the Beishuo people could recognize their own through the style of their war armors.

The sudden charge of ten thousand reinforcements from the rear was an overwhelming morale booster for the Beishuo soldiers struggling to hold out, especially at this crucial moment when the Xia Army Fifth Camp had run out of arrows.

Given the length of the battle, for the Xia Army Fifth Camp soldiers’ arrows to last until now was quite impressive; although it didn’t inflict any fatal damage upon the Beishuo rear army, preventing them from breaking the encirclement of the Third and Fourth Camps and rescuing the trapped Beishuo Army was the greatest achievement.

Strangely, after the Fifth Camp soldiers ran out of arrows, Xia Chuan didn’t order them to join the battle, instead leaving them standing in place with no further commands.

“With five thousand unmoving, even with Tianxiong’s ten thousand reinforcements, it’s useless, this battle is unplayable now, rescue the Beishuo Army and immediately retreat…”

Seeing the five thousand-strong army standing still, Yang Jian’s mood had sunk to the lowest point. This initial skirmish, battle to this moment, the result was already quite clear—right now it’s just a matter of Beishuo minimizing their losses.

As for relying on Gu Tianxiong’s ten thousand to overturn the situation, that’s dreaming!

“Tianxiong, lead the reinforcements to break through the Xia Army encirclement from the right wing, rescue them…”

At present, the two armies were locked in fierce battle; expressing retreating thoughts would certainly dampen the soldiers’ spirits, but talking of rescuing people wouldn’t have such an effect. Yang Jian shouted angrily, directly ordering Gu Tianxiong at the rear.

Originally, Jingxi only had five thousand stationed troops under Gu Tianxiong’s command, together with the five thousand brought by Lu Yang afterward, totaling ten thousand. Yang Fa had negotiated during his previous diplomatic mission to East Ridge that these combined forces of ten thousand would be commanded by Gu Tianxiong.

So at this moment, ordering Gu Tianxiong was completely appropriate.

“Brothers, gather at the city gate!”

Gu Tianxiong’s voice indeed rang out, but his command left all Beishuo people, including Yang Jian and Yang Fa, momentarily stunned.

“What are they doing at the city gate?”

“Something doesn’t feel right!”

“Didn’t the Army Chief tell them to break through from the right wing?”

………

The battlefield was filled with the sounds of fighting, and the soldiers’ confusion didn’t create much disturbance, but emotions could spread, and there were smart people among the forces. Someone soon noticed the anomaly in Gu Tianxiong’s ten thousand troops’ strange movements.

Yang Jian’s proactive strike led Baimu City’s twenty-five thousand troops to fully engage, leaving the city gate wide open but unguarded, with only the city’s temporarily conscripted tens of thousands of Earth-digging Realm Limit overseeing them.

The Jingxi reinforcements hitting the city gate location effectively blocked their path back to the city entirely.

What exactly is Gu Tianxiong planning?

“Not good……”

Yang Jian had already sensed something was off, his gaze turned toward the front of Jingxi’s ten thousand troops, where his pupils constricted as his expression changed drastically, his face instantly turned ash-white.

He recognized all four of them: Gu Tianxiong, Lu Yang, and Gu Tianxiong’s two brothers, Gu Tianwu and Gu Tianyun.

The cause of his shocking change in expression was that among the four, Lu Yang stood at the forefront, with the Gu Tianxiong brothers trailing behind him.

Not only that, but he could clearly see that while the four were only about five or six meters above the ground, they were genuinely floating mid-air.

Gu Tianxiong’s breakthrough to Xianyang Level was early in the year, but when did his two brothers also break through?

“Lord, by fortunate chance, I discovered a Beast King’s Nest deep within Moao Mountain and unexpectedly obtained three Heavenly Yang Fruits, which led to my breakthrough…”

Recalling Gu Tianxiong’s explanation of his Xianyang Level breakthrough earlier in the year, Yang Jian’s pupils pulsated violently, and his already pale complexion was spooked with horror, he urgently turned to look at the Beishuo Army around him, trying to speak, yet was interrupted by a cold laugh not far away.

“Yang the Third, look closely at whose reinforcements these are…”

Xia Chuan in a white robe stood in mid-air; with the fall of his words, his hands connected by countless transparent silk threads abruptly pulled down.

Huff…

The five-zhang-high Red Silver Blade Puppet suddenly crouched, its quad-edged legs sprang up directly, leaping more than a hundred meters from the ground, its four blades arms unleashed four ferocious blades, aiming violently at Yang Jian’s area.

“Retreat… retreat, everyone retreat back to the city quickly, quickly, quickly…”
