Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1607: Chapter 505: Assault on the Stronghold and First Clash (3)

“We can’t stay long, brothers. If we do, we’ll end up like grilled iron plates.”

“Charge in, kill!”

…………

The fire in the trench was indeed fierce.

Even the five iron plates obviously began to heat up and turn red, but this did not dampen the Xia Army’s enthusiasm for the charge. The Cold Resistance Level, being the Perfect Skin phase, meant that unless the fire directly touched them, the mere high temperature could only cause some discomfort but no real harm.

On the contrary, this increasing heat only stimulated their ferocity. Realizing that they couldn’t stand on the iron bridge for long, they charged even more vigorously, more fiercely.

And Mu Longhe, who was already at the forefront of the army, made his move when the soldiers at the very front were still more than ten meters away from the gate.

He leaped into the air, raising a long staff high, slashing straight down at the gate.

Clang……

The gate must not be breached by the Xia Army so quickly.

At this critical juncture, Yang Qin appeared, and even though he knew he was no match for Mu Longhe, he still stood in front of the gate, blocking his staff. Then he looked down at the Xia Army’s arrow quivers and shouted loudly:

“The Xia Army’s arrows are spent, fire at will, fire at will, fire at will!”

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh………

All the defending soldiers above and behind the gate raised their strong bows in unison upon receiving the order, and began shooting fiercely at the approaching Xia Army below.

Clang clang clang………

“Do you really think only shields can block you? This iron core bow, with only one mane’s pull, dreams of harming us, dream on!”

Red Sun Army Commander, the Allies’ six-camp General Xiahou Cen, leaped directly to the base of the gate. He cleaved through dozens of iron arrows in front of him with a slight raise of his brows, looked at the mere eight-meter-high gate ahead, scoffed coldly and threw down his shield, leveraging the railing on the side twice to jump straight up.

Thunk……

The pressure faced by Xiahou Cen as the first to ascend the wall was imaginable. Almost instantly, he was surrounded by dozens of defending soldiers, among whom were six middle-aged men dressed as officers, immediately slashing at him with swords and knives.

Whoosh……

However, faced with such a situation, Xiahou Cen showed no fear; in fact, a ferocious grin appeared on his face. He suddenly twisted his body, swinging his nine-holed silver ring saber in an arc, drawing a horizontal blade light.

Before the blade light was drawn, three vertical blood-red cloud patterns abruptly appeared on his forehead, instantly widening the blade light by two or three meters, sweeping away all six officers in front of him.

Moreover, nearly half of the dozens of defending soldiers surrounding him were also swept away. Many were even cleaved in half with their armor and helmets.

“Holy Pattern combined with martial arts, my strength is almost near a hundred mane. Without a Xianyang Level, who can stop me?”

It had been a long time since Xiahou Cen had such a vigorous and enjoyable fight. He hadn’t been with Great Xia for long, so he wasn’t too obsessed with military merit yet. Right now, he only aimed for contribution value; he was just a little short of exchanging it for the Sun-Rising Pill.

With this battle over, he should be almost there…

“Brothers of the Red Sun Army, charge up, I will clear a path for you!”

Xiahou Cen shouted angrily, continuing to fight where he stood, planning to open up an area in advance for the brothers coming up from behind.

“Everyone, do not retreat. If the Xia Army can’t break our gate, they can’t invade; hold it, hold it for me!”

Yang Qin and Yang Ping had been resisting Mu Qinghe and Mu Longhe, the father and son duo from the Mu family, over the gate. Although their strength was clearly inferior, they did not intend to engage in battle. Whenever the Mu father and son attempted to break the gate with brute force, they immediately swarmed to disrupt, thereby just barely holding the gate.

Unfortunately, with Red Sun and Yellow Armor soldiers flocking to the top of the gate like a tide, the significance of holding this gate seemed to diminish ever more.

Bang……

“If we can’t hold it, let them in, it’s of no consequence…”

Yang Qin once more blocked Mu Longhe’s long staff, retreating several meters. Seeing that hundreds of Xia Army soldiers had occupied the top of the gate, he first let out a cold laugh, then turned to look inside the fortress, as if about to say something.

But before he could speak, his gaze caught sight of something, his pupils contracted sharply, and his body trembled violently.

Smoke, it was smoke…

The central area of the fortress was billowing smoke.

And the scale of the smoke appeared to be significant.

Wasn’t that…

“The warehouse is on fire, the warehouse is ablaze!”

Suddenly, several exclamations came from the rear of the army. Yang Qin’s face instantly turned pale, his expression exceedingly grim.
