Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 1576: Chapter 591: Taking Her to the Rooftop Again... (Supersized Chapter)

Lin Qingci nodded: ”Yes, at that time our company needed financing, so Boss Zhang invested a hundred million into us, and we joined Dongsheng Group.”

”Recently, our website has been booming, so Boss Zhang wants to discuss a few things with me.”

Although Lin Qingci’s reason sounded quite legitimate, Lin Ruotang was, after all, He Jieyu’s mother, and Lin Qingci had always been He Jieyu’s best friend. She visited He Jieyu’s house quite often, so Lin Ruotang understood Lin Qingci very well.

So Lin Ruotang immediately saw through Lin Qingci’s lie.

Although Zhang Jingdong and Lin Qingci might indeed be discussing business matters, their conversation was definitely not just about business.

But Lin Ruotang was a socialite, so she smiled complacently: ”Is that so... By the way, your website is called Renren Network, right? I’ve been following that website all this time; its prospects are indeed excellent!”

Zhang Jingdong heard this, and immediately said: ”Is that so, I really didn’t expect you, President Lin, to have been keeping an eye on our website. Given the situation, when we have our next round of financing, would you consider investing in us?”

Although Zhang Jingdong’s words seemed fine, Lin Ruotang instantly realized that the smile on Zhang Jingdong’s lips was exactly the same as when he was teaching her Tai Chi Boxing at her home and taking advantage of her.

A trace of embarrassment flashed across her eyes.

But she was also a businesswoman comparable to Yan Ning, and quickly regained her usual composure: ”Sure, with your company’s such promising future, I couldn’t ask for more.”

Zhang Jingdong said easily: ”Great, then it’s settled! No matter how many people want to invest in our company, we’ll definitely make sure you’re included.”

The woman beside Lin Ruotang was Lu Yalin, the vice president of Nanfeng Group, both her client and a close friend.

Earlier, when Lin Ruotang was talking to Zhang Jingdong, Lu Yalin had noticed Lin Ruotang was somewhat off.

Because she’s been friends with Lin Ruotang for more than a decade, she knew that since being single, Lin Ruotang had always been indifferent to men, yet she was noticeably shy and hesitant when speaking to Zhang Jingdong earlier.

If her shyness could be explained by rarely interacting with men privately, the hesitation was a clue that her relationship with this young, handsome man was quite unusual.

She had originally thought Zhang Jingdong was some wealthy young second generation running a brandless company, but was surprised to learn he was actually the handsome boss of the legendary Dongsheng Group.

Recently, she had heard quite a few stories about this young boss, such as his drama of fighting over women with Yan Ning and Ye Jinyan, so she was quite curious about Zhang Jingdong at this moment.

Thus, she couldn’t help but say: ”Boss Zhang, since you’ve made such a promise to President Lin, could you consider giving Nanfeng Group a chance? Our company is also optimistic about Renren Network’s prospects.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Jingdong immediately turned his head to look at Lu Yalin.

Seeing her physique and appearance were somewhat inferior to Lin Ruotang’s, but with a very decent temperament, he immediately asked Lin Ruotang: ”President Lin, who is this?”

Only then did Lin Ruotang remember her friend, her blush deepening, and introduced: ”This is President Lu from Nanfeng Group; their company makes significant investments every year.”

Zhang Jingdong quickly recalled and said: ”So you’re from Nanfeng Group, alright, since you’re President Lin’s friend, if you’re interested, you’re definitely welcome.”

Lu Yalin promptly responded with deep meaning: ”Alright, then I’ll thank Mr. Zhang in advance, and of course, thank our President Lin, as I’m riding on her coattails this time!”

Lin Ruotang heard the mockery in her words, but knew that if she denied it at this point, it would only make things worse.

Therefore, she reluctantly put aside the idea of scaring Zhang Jingdong, saying: ”Alright, Boss Zhang, you guys continue chatting, see you later.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled and nodded: ”Okay, see you later.”

”Qingci, goodbye.”

”Aunt Lin, goodbye.”

After Lin Ruotang and the others walked away, Lin Qingci suddenly felt a bit panicked, saying: ”Jingdong, shall we go now?”

But Zhang Jingdong feigned calmness: ”If we leave now, it will only show we’re guilty.”

”But...”

”No buts, relax, eat and drink as you should. If anything happens, I’ll take care of everything!”

Seeing Zhang Jingdong so composed, Lin Qingci gradually relaxed.

The two of them ate for nearly twenty more minutes before getting up to say goodbye to Lin Ruotang and the others, then left the hotpot restaurant.

At this time, Lu Yalin glanced at the entrance, then said to Lin Ruotang: ”Lin, this boss of Dongsheng Group is indeed extraordinary!”

Lin Ruotang stopped her chopsticks, teasing: ”Why, have you taken a fancy to him? Don’t worry, I won’t tell your old Liu.”

Lu Yalin was taken aback at first, then stubbornly said: ”To be honest, I actually have a pretty good impression of Boss Zhang.”

”Not only is he young and talented, managing the company so well, but he’s also so young, and so handsome. Tsk tsk, no lie, if I were younger by a decade, oh no, if I were your age, I’d definitely want to find a way to have something with him.”

Lin Ruotang laughed and shook her head: ”Unexpectedly, you really dare, huh? Humph... have I caught you red-handed now?”
