Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 1572: Chapter 590: A Different Kind of Romance on the Plane!

Zhang Jingdong and Lin Qingci boarded the plane and headed to the first class cabin.

Since Zhang Jingdong had booked the entire first class in advance, there were only the two of them in the spacious cabin.

Zhang Jingdong said with a casual air, ”President Lin, sit anywhere you like, your man is picking up the tab for the entire venue!”

Although Lin Qingci found him somewhat boastful, she had to admit that sometimes a little luxury could really provide a fantastic experience.

Especially since someone had already mentioned wanting to study on the plane, Lin Qingci silently felt relieved.

She looked around for a moment and finally pointed to a window-side corner: ”How about we sit there?”

Zhang Jingdong immediately grinned mischievously: ”President Lin, you’ve got a good eye, that’s the best spot for, you know, the thing.”

Lin Qingci blushed instantly: ”I... I’m not choosing it for that reason...”

Zhang Jingdong, knowing she was thin-skinned, hurriedly said: ”Yes, yes... the view is quite nice from there too.”

Lin Qingci lazily ignored him, and went directly to the seats.

Zhang Jingdong chuckled, then followed her over.

Soon the plane took off, and once it was stable, the flight attendant came over to provide service.

After the flight attendant left, Zhang Jingdong noticed that Lin Qingci seemed a bit tense again, knowing it was likely because she was planning to study on the plane soon.

He then pretended to be serious: ”President Lin, since our influencer strategy has started to show results, and our website users are entering a growth period, your focus in the upcoming period will need to shift from the website to building a supply chain company.”

”Because in the end, the most important monetization method for our website is through influencers driving sales.”

”During this period, I’ve summarized the monetization strategies of major domestic websites. They mostly rely on advertising and creating premium website content, but the results are generally mediocre, with many websites unable to sustain operations solely through these methods, surviving only through continuous financing.”

”So, although our website’s user base is rapidly growing, if we can’t establish monetization channels promptly, we will soon face the same issues as they do.”

”I’m telling you this to make you understand the importance and necessity of building the supply chain company, so you must mentally prepare in advance.”

”Our supply chain company is not just an attempt; it’s something we must achieve, because it’s crucial not only for the future of Qingyun Technology but for the survival of our entire group, understand?”

Although Lin Qingci had heard Zhang Jingdong mention the idea of building a supply chain company before, she always thought it was just one of the future monetization methods for the company, so she didn’t take it very seriously.

In fact, she thought the most important future monetization method for Qingyun Technology would be to expand the website to a certain scale, constantly raise funds, and even get listed quickly.

So she couldn’t help but say, ”Boss, honestly, I feel our most important future monetization method should be getting listed, right? You mentioned this first, back then.”

”Also, I’ve been pondering this issue lately. I feel if we acquire a large number of companies and build a massive supply chain company, we’ll need to invest an incredibly large amount of money, bearing even more significant risks.”

”Currently, whether domestically or internationally, most internet companies are light asset companies, which is a big advantage compared to industrial companies.”

”But if we really build a supply chain company, then in the future our company will become a heavy asset company, and by then we’ll have to do all sorts of restructuring when we get listed. Those heavy assets might even affect the listing agencies’ rating of our company.”

”So are you really sure we want to spend so much money and energy to build a supply chain company?”

”Given our website’s current growth speed and the potential scale it could reach, we could be listed within at most three years.”

Zhang Jingdong glanced at the scenery outside, playing with Lin Qingci’s silky hair as he spoke: ”You think the ultimate goal for an internet company is just to get listed?”

”But what happens after listing? What if our website’s data starts declining, leading to a stock price drop, and we eventually get delisted?”

”That... that’s impossible,” Lin Qingci pursed her lips: ”I have confidence in our website; after getting listed, we definitely won’t face those situations.”

Zhang Jingdong released her silky hair and started playing with her delicate hand instead: ”But you must know that if an internet company doesn’t have continuous profitability methods, its stock market performance definitely won’t be good in the long term.”

”Moreover, if we don’t build a supply chain company and get listed in three years, at most we’ll become the next Sohu or Tencent, with a market value of tens of billions, and to be honest, these fall far short of my goals!”

”To be honest, I never intended to just build a website. Renren Network is just a part of my business layout; it’s meant to generate traffic.”

”What I truly aim to create is a world-class supermarket, where I select products for consumers and sell them through Renren Network’s traffic channel.”

Seeing Lin Qingci in deep thought, Zhang Jingdong took a sip of juice from his water glass.

After waiting for about ten seconds, seeing that Lin Qingci’s eyes had cleared a bit, he continued: ”Also, if our Renren Network is merely a site for people to relax and view social hotspots, within five years there will definitely be similar sites appearing domestically.”
