Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Afterward, Zhang Jingdong and Jiang Lai tidied up a bit and headed to the back mountain together.

It was close to 11 o’clock, so there were hardly any people on the back mountain.

Zhang Jingdong held a video camera, filming as he walked. Occasionally, he would aim the camera at Jiang Lai, who was carrying a bamboo basket and wearing a dress, and other times at the beautiful mountain scenery in the distance, painted in vibrant autumn colors.

One had to admit, the combination of beauty and scenery truly was refreshing.

Zhang Jingdong silently marveled for a moment, then said, ”Jiang Lai, how many types of wild vegetables are there on this mountain? Do you know them all?”

Jiang Lai glanced at Zhang Jingdong and sweetly replied, ”Of course I know them. I used to come here often with my grandma when I was very young to dig wild vegetables.”

”This mountain of ours is full of treasures: there are fiddleheads, wild water celery, wild bamboo shoots, and also wild chives, shepherd’s purse, and wild onions.”

”Wow, that’s really a lot.”

Soon the two of them entered the woods, and Jiang Lai quickly activated her treasure-hunting mode.

Zhang Jingdong gradually noticed that Jiang Lai seemed like a different person at this moment—more cheerful and even more genuine.

”Jingdong, look quickly, there are lots of wild chives here, and they’re super fresh!”

”Jingdong, look over there; those are authentic wild bamboo shoots, crunchy and fresh, with a unique sweetness.”

”Jingdong, look here, haha, so much wild water celery; these would make great dumpling fillings!”

Initially, Zhang Jingdong didn’t think much of it, but under Jiang Lai’s influence, he gradually discovered that digging for wild vegetables on the mountain was actually a delightful activity, just like fishing or treasure hunting.

Eventually, he would occasionally hand the camera to Jiang Lai and dig for wild vegetables himself.

And Jiang Lai wasn’t exaggerating—indeed, the place was filled with treasures, and in less than an hour, her bamboo basket was already full of wild vegetables.

At this moment, Zhang Jingdong inadvertently turned his head and suddenly noticed a small stream in the distance, instantly feeling a surge of excitement: ”Is there fish in that little stream over there?”

Jiang Lai looked up and said, ”There are, but we didn’t bring any nets, and although the stream looks calm, it’s actually quite deep.”

Zhang Jingdong chuckled, ”Don’t worry, your man here is a fishing expert. Take me over there, and I’ll guarantee you’ll have the freshest fish to eat today!”

Although Jiang Lai had never seen Zhang Jingdong fish before, seeing his confident expression, she felt he wasn’t bluffing and promptly said, ”Really? Okay!”

The two of them quickly tidied up and made their way to the stream.

Zhang Jingdong casually found some things and made a very simple fishing rod.

So simple that when he tossed the hook into the water, Jiang Lai couldn’t help but curiously ask, ”You’re...fishing with that?”

Zhang Jingdong knowingly asked, ”What, you think I can’t catch fish with this hook?”

”No...” Jiang Lai, realizing her thoughts were exposed, hurriedly said, ”It’s just... I’ve never seen a hook like that before.”

Zhang Jingdong laughed, ”Jiang Lai, you’re actually learning to lie!”

”I...”

Zhang Jingdong interrupted, ”Alright then, if you think I can’t catch one, let’s make a bet, shall we?”

”If I catch a fish within ten minutes, I win, and you’ll have to do something for me.”

”But if I don’t catch one within ten minutes, I’ll stay here with you for another three days. How about it? Dare to bet?”

Jiang Lai noticed the mischievous smile at the corner of Zhang Jingdong’s mouth and knew that if she lost, he might make her do something.

But firstly, she really doubted that Zhang Jingdong could catch a fish with such a simple hook, especially in under ten minutes.

Although she hadn’t fished much herself, after living here for more than ten years, she had never seen even the best fishing expert accomplish what he claimed.

Secondly, before they set off up the mountain, Zhang Jingdong had already mentioned wanting to take advantage of her, and although she was very shy, she actually wanted to give him a special gift before he left, so that he’d think of her more often.

So even if she lost this bet, she could totally accept it.

With this in mind, she readily nodded, ”Alright, since you’re so eager, I’ll bet with you once.”

Seeing that she had taken the bait, Zhang Jingdong immediately said, ”Wow, Jiang Lai, you’re becoming more and more likable. Okay, it’s settled!”

Zhang Jingdong started rhythmically adjusting the position of the fishing line.

And Jiang Lai also moved closer, fully focused on watching him fish.

Three minutes later, the fishing line suddenly moved.

Jiang Lai’s face was immediately filled with surprise, ”You caught one! You’re really good!”

Zhang Jingdong smiled, ”The fish got away, your fish here are quite smart.”

Jiang Lai pursed her lips, ”It’s okay, you’re already really impressive.”

Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but tease, ”Jiang Lai, you’re not quite right. You’re actually hoping I catch one soon? Are you eager for the punishment?”

Jiang Lai immediately felt a bit flustered, ”I...I didn’t? I just...I didn’t expect a fish would really bite the hook.”

Zhang Jingdong continued teasing her, ”So do you want to do the punishment or not?”

”I...”

Jiang Lai’s face turned red with shame, taking a while to calm down, ”That depends on whether you can win or not; if you win, I’ll...I’ll do the punishment.”

Zhang Jingdong stifled his laughter, ”From the sound of it, you’re willing to accept any punishment if I win?”

Jiang Lai blinked her innocent eyes, ”…As long as you can win, I’ll...I’ll definitely accept it.”

At this point, Jiang Lai suddenly realized and playfully said, ”Hey...who says I’ll definitely lose? If I win, I will punish you, you know?”
