Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Zhang Jingdong shamelessly took advantage of the situation and said, ”How am I bad? I’m truly the man sent by heaven for you!”

”Haven’t you noticed that the fact that we met is a huge coincidence?”

”You just graduated and wanted to find a job that pays well to pay for your grandmother’s medical bills, preferably located near your hometown, so you can take care of your sister who is still in school.”

”You tried so many times but couldn’t find such a suitable job, and my company happened to be hiring a web host at this time, a job that meets all your requirements.”

”Plus, you happened to be at the age to date, and while you’re taking care of your grandmother and sister, you also need someone to take care of you, to guide you. And by some stroke of luck, I appeared at this time.”

”Add these two together, don’t you think this is a match made in heaven?”

Jiang Lai was surprised at how straightforward Zhang Jingdong was, and was momentarily stunned.

”But... I... you...”

”But what?” Zhang Jingdong resisted laughing, ”Do you think there’s something not good enough about me?”

”Do you think I’m not handsome enough, not presentable?”

Jiang Lai shook her head, ”No, but...”

”Do you think I’m not wealthy enough?”

”No...”

”Do you think my character isn’t good enough?”

Jiang Lai hesitated slightly, then shook her head again, ”No, it’s just... we’ve only known each other for less than a week, I don’t completely understand what kind of person you are yet!”

Zhang Jingdong feigned realization, ”Oh... I understand, it’s because we’ve spent too little time together. Well, this is something we can fix in the near future.”

Then Zhang Jingdong suddenly stopped talking.

He didn’t say a single word for over an hour.

And although Jiang Lai was caught off guard, she didn’t know what to say either, so she remained silent as well.

It was only when the plane’s announcement said it would land in half an hour that Zhang Jingdong suddenly said, ”From now on, I’m your standby boyfriend?”

”Don’t worry, I will definitely do my best to become your official boyfriend soon.”

Jiang Lai was completely taken aback, ”No, I... when did I say you’re my standby boyfriend?”

Zhang Jingdong pouted, ”But you didn’t reject my confession just now, doesn’t that mean you have some feelings for me and quietly accepted that I’m your standby boyfriend?”

”So, do you mean you don’t have any feelings for me at all?”

Zhang Jingdong stared intently at Jiang Lai, ”Once we reach home, you have to tell the truth 100%, or else the family ancestors will be unhappy, so you better think it through before you answer!”

Initially, Jiang Lai reflexively wanted to answer ”no,” but upon hearing this, she was instantly at a loss for words.

Although she wasn’t sure if she liked Zhang Jingdong yet, she knew she definitely had some feelings for him.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have easily forgiven him when he had held her hand earlier.

Because there was a similar instance before.

In the second semester of her junior year, she interned at a company.

As the internship was about to end, when she went to the company boss to get her internship certificate signed,

the boss merely wanted to use the signing opportunity to touch her hand, but she avoided it.

The boss got angry, stared straight at Jiang Lai, hinting that if she didn’t let him take some advantage, he wouldn’t sign.

As a result, Jiang Lai turned and left immediately.

But now, she’s unknowingly let Zhang Jingdong hold her hand three times, and earlier in the mall, she even wore a skirt for him to see.

Jiang Lai knows if she really had no feelings at all for Zhang Jingdong, she wouldn’t have accepted these things.

Thinking of this, Jiang Lai glared at Zhang Jingdong angrily, ”Okay, I admit I... I do have a little bit of feelings for you, but only a little!”

Zhang Jingdong looked at Jiang Lai’s sincere and shy demeanor and thought to himself, honesty truly is unbeatable! Who could resist such a beautiful woman!

He then exclaimed joyfully, ”A little is enough! So, you’ve now admitted that I am your standby boyfriend, right?”

”I...”

Although Jiang Lai didn’t want to admit it aloud, she was actually quite happy inside.

After all, Zhang Jingdong seemed, at present, to be a perfect man who was handsome, successful, and had a good personality, making it really hard to resist.

So, after hesitating for another four to five seconds, she finally relented, ”Okay... I admit it.”

Zhang Jingdong was completely ecstatic, immediately grabbing Jiang Lai’s slender hand and kissing it several times.

”Haha, I knew you would agree, Jiang Lai, rest assured I will treat you well!”

Truth be told, seeing Zhang Jingdong’s extremely happy expression made Jiang Lai feel quite happy and excited herself.

But she said, ”Hey... you can’t just casually kiss my hand, we... we’re not actually together yet!”

As an experienced player in love, Zhang Jingdong was unfazed and replied, ”But this is the treatment I get as your standby boyfriend.”

”Think about it, when we officially get together in the future, then I can kiss your face and your lips, so according to the sequence, for now, I can only kiss your hand.”

”But if you really don’t want me to kiss your hand, that’s fine, I can switch to another area, like your arm, or your leg, or... how about I kiss your ear?”
