Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

So her gaze became noticeably clearer: ”Alright, since you have so much confidence in me, I’ll follow your plan, give it my all, and try not to disappoint you.”

Zhang Jingdong saw that she finally had some confidence and immediately extended his hand to her: ”Believe me, the cooperation between us in the future will be seamless and instantly successful!”

Jiang Lai was a bit caught off guard by his sudden gesture.

But for one, Zhang Jingdong’s gaze was very sincere at that moment, clearly intending to encourage her.

Secondly, she thought of the scene where he had proactively helped her carry her things in the neighborhood just now, so she trusted that he definitely wasn’t trying to take advantage of her.

So she hesitated a bit before actually extending her hand to shake Zhang Jingdong’s: ”Hmm, I trust you!”

”Congratulations to the Host for successfully making physical contact with the target person, reward of 50,000 yuan!”

After an excited handshake, a full ten seconds later, Jiang Lai realized Zhang Jingdong still hadn’t let go of her hand.

She instantly felt a bit bewildered.

Another ten seconds passed.

Zhang Jingdong still didn’t let go.

Jiang Lai finally started to suspect he might be taking advantage of her, so she furrowed her delicate brows at him.

Yet Zhang Jingdong still did not let go.

Another five seconds passed and Jiang Lai was about to struggle.

Then Zhang Jingdong finally released her hand with a cheeky smile and said in all seriousness: ”Just now wasn’t me taking advantage of you, it’s because I had my fortune told before.”

”At that time, the person said that in this lifetime, if I were to cooperate with a woman, the first handshake must last for thirty seconds to ensure a very pleasant collaboration between us.”

”Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but because several collaborations with women weren’t going very well before, when I later decided to team up with Xiao Fei, I tried listening to that Daoist, and it indeed worked out with Xiao Fei!”

”Later on, I followed this method for several collaborations with women or hiring women as general managers, and each turned out exceptionally well.”

”So now it’s pretty much become a little rule of mine, I hope you don’t mind.”

Even though Jiang Lai was somewhat doubtful about the authenticity of Zhang Jingdong’s words, her hand had already been held by him, and there was no turning back.

Moreover, Zhang Jingdong was now her boss after all, and although his reasoning seemed somewhat forced, it had some grounds.

So she said nothing, just lowered her head a bit shyly.

Seeing she was a good girl, Zhang Jingdong refrained from pushing his luck.

The ride was particularly quiet, so much so that they could even hear the faint sound of the breeze outside.

Long Yue noticed this and quietly increased the car’s speed.

About ten minutes later, the vehicle slowly came to a stop at Friendship Department Store’s underground parking lot.

Zhang Jingdong, pretending to be somewhat apologetic, said to Jiang Lai: ”What, still mad at me? I was wrong, let me apologize to you, will you forgive me just this once?”

A real man knows when to bend or stand tall, moreover, Zhang Jingdong’s knee was always quite flexible before his woman, and the woman he was pursuing.

After all, in ”Pan Lv Deng Xiao Xian,” the ”Xiao” refers to knowing when to yield or soften up before a woman.

Although Jiang Lai had a simple character, it didn’t mean she lacked emotional intelligence. In fact, growing up in the countryside and being raised by her grandmother, she was very observant, fearful of her actions making others uncomfortable.

When the car was silent earlier, she thought she might have overreacted and shouldn’t have embarrassed Zhang Jingdong.

Ultimately, he helped her a lot, and he wasn’t clearly the type to be a scoundrel, so she had no reason to put him in a tough spot.

Thus, seeing Zhang Jingdong taking the initiative to apologize, she instantly softened up, quickly said: ”I... I’m not angry... You already explained, I... I can understand.”

”You’re really not angry?”

Zhang Jingdong, pretending not to believe, leaned in to gaze closely at her pretty face: ”That can’t be true, your gaze when you lowered your head almost killed me!”

”You... I... but I... I’m really not angry.”

Maybe due to Zhang Jingdong being too close, Jiang Lai shyly lowered her head again.

Zhang Jingdong struggled to hold back his laugh: ”Really not angry? Alright... Are you mad now?”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong grabbed her hand again.

Jiang Lai hurriedly lifted her head, both shy and annoyed: ”You... you... let go of me, what are you doing?”

”Alright, alright...” Zhang Jingdong immediately let go of her and said: ”This time, I’m just joking with you, mainly because you were way too serious earlier, making it hard for me to talk to you.”

And here, Zhang Jingdong intentionally got a bit serious: ”Classmate Jiang Lai, in the future, you need to relax a bit, don’t stay so tense all the time, otherwise it will affect both your interactions and work.”

As soon as Jiang Lai realized Zhang Jingdong was teaching her something, she instantly forgot about him pulling her hand earlier.

Mainly because Zhang Jingdong’s words touched her heart.

She was aware all along that her state wasn’t quite right; she felt tense all the time.

She had to worry about many things every day, like her grandmother’s health, her sister’s studies, and her own work. It made it impossible for her to relax.

Seeing her deep in thought, Zhang Jingdong understood he had accurately addressed her current situation.
