Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Zhang Jingdong chuckled self-deprecatingly: ”Well, when you’re struggling financially, you have to change.”

”When I first started college, my monthly living allowance was only a few hundred yuan. I couldn’t even afford to eat, let alone take a girl out on a date!”

”So I had to find ways to make money, and as I kept doing business, I got completely interested in it, and gradually ventured into many enterprises until now.”

At this moment, Zhang Yuqi suddenly wanted to ask Zhang Jingdong, ”Did you ever date anyone later? Do you have a girlfriend now?” but she held back.

Because she feared receiving an affirmative answer.

The two continued chatting for a while, and then there was a knock at the door.

Zhang Jingdong casually said, ”Come in!”

Then the waitress from earlier entered, pushing a dining cart, and arranged all the food and drinks on the coffee table.

”Boss, please enjoy, if you need anything, do call me anytime.”

”Okay, thank you for your hard work.”

After the waitress left, Zhang Jingdong gestured to Zhang Yuqi: ”Come on, let’s eat!”

Zhang Yuqi nodded, then followed him to the coffee table.

Zhang Jingdong pointed to the Mao’s Braised Pork in the center: ”This braised pork is made in the most authentic Xiangnan style, want to try it?”

Zhang Yuqi immediately picked up a piece and placed it in her mouth, chewing carefully.

Then praised: ”Mm! It’s really delicious! I’ve never had such tasty braised pork!”

Zhang Jingdong laughed heartily: ”If you like it, eat more, don’t hold back.”

Zhang Yuqi nodded and picked up another piece.

After about twenty minutes, both had eaten their fill.

Zhang Jingdong then said: ”After taking those photos of you, I don’t want to turn you into an internet celebrity!”

Zhang Yuqi’s heart tightened instantly.

As she interpreted Zhang Jingdong’s words to mean he didn’t want her working at his company anymore and might want her as his kept woman.

She fell into a deep internal conflict.

Truth be told, after spending these hours with Zhang Jingdong, she found herself quite impressed by him.

He’s not only handsome but also young and successful, with a great personality and excellent photography skills.

Frankly speaking, based on these attributes alone, he’s already a perfect man, and being his partner seems like a rather appealing option.

Even if she’s not likely to be his only woman.

On the other hand, she genuinely did not want to be a man’s subordinate.

Although Zhang Jingdong is indeed outstanding, she deeply understands that once she ages and loses her charm, he will surely abandon her.

History might repeat even before she ages, as soon as he finds a woman more beautiful and captivating than her, she could be discarded, leaving her with nothing.

And just as Zhang Yuqi was agonizing over her thoughts, Zhang Jingdong continued saying: ”I believe that with your qualities, only making you an internet celebrity would be wasteful, so I want to turn you into a movie star.”

Zhang Yuqi was a bit distracted but, upon hearing the last part, her heart suddenly warmed: ”What...what did you say? Movie star?”

”Are...are you joking?”

Zhang Jingdong answered indirectly: ”Do you know why I’ve managed to become the boss of so many companies in such a short time?”

”There are many reasons, but I believe the most crucial one is my unique insight in judging people.”

”The managers of my companies are all personally chosen by me, and each one of them is exceptionally capable, never letting me down.”

”Now I see great potential in you to become a star, trust me, okay?”

Zhang Yuqi, unusually insecure, said: ”It’s not that I don’t trust you, it’s just...I’ve never been involved in filmmaking, I’m interested but have no idea if I have the ability.”

Zhang Jingdong straightforwardly said: ”Some things you can only discover whether you can do them by trying.”

”I ask you now, do you dare? Do you have the courage to try, you don’t have to worry about anything else, I’ll handle the arrangements for you!”

Though Zhang Yuqi still felt somewhat uncertain, she realized this was quite a valuable opportunity.

If she agreed, she’d seize this chance, even if she failed, she would likely still gain favor with Zhang Jingdong.

But if she rejected out of fear, she might not immediately be discarded by Zhang Jingdong, but she would likely not be valued in the future.

Thinking of this, her desire to rise above emerged fiercely from her core.

She then resolutely decided: ”...Okay, I trust you, I’m willing to give it a try!”

Seeing her willingness, Zhang Jingdong couldn’t help but think she was indeed fearless and daring in the crucial moment, living up to her past reputation!

He said with satisfaction: ”Great, I knew I wasn’t wrong about you!”

”Since you’re willing to try, I assure you now that I will wholeheartedly support you, definitely making you a renowned actress in the country!”

Though Zhang Yuqi still found this dreamlike, Zhang Jingdong’s sincerity in that moment prompted her to genuinely say: ”Boss Zhang, thank you for this opportunity, I will give it my all, and not let you down!”

”Congratulations Host, you have received the target’s heartfelt thanks, reward: 200,000 yuan!”
