Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Lin Ruotang hesitantly said, ”Generally, there are three main purposes for forming a group company. First is to mitigate risk. A group company can use holding methods to isolate business companies from the personal risks of the owner, thereby reducing your risk as an owner.”

”The second is resource integration. A group company can integrate various resources through direct or indirect control, thereby enhancing brand promotion and improving the overall competitiveness of the enterprise.”

”Third is tax optimization. By consolidating the financial statements of its subsidiaries, a group company can reduce its tax burden and control costs, while still keeping the profits of its subsidiaries within the group in the form of dividends.”

At this point, Lin Ruotang glanced at Zhang Jingdong, then continued, ”But the companies Jieyu mentioned last night don’t seem to have strong connections with each other. Are you combining them into a group company just for the first and third reasons?”

Zhang Jingdong shook his head with a smile, ”On the contrary, my main goal this time is actually to achieve the second purpose.”

Lin Ruotang’s eyebrows slightly furrowed: ”But... your bar, entertainment company, real estate company, internet company, clothing company, don’t seem related at all?”

Zhang Jingdong sat down, picked up his glass of milk, took a sip, and said, ”They may not seem related on the surface, but what if the main products of my internet company are social networking and e-commerce?”

Seeing Lin Ruotang a bit puzzled, Zhang Jingdong explained, ”My entertainment company is actually there to provide traffic for my internet and clothing companies.”

”And my clothing company, along with a huge number of companies I plan to acquire, such as food and cosmetics companies, will provide products for my e-commerce company, with my core business focus on the internet sector in the future.”

”I will use social networking and entertainment to generate a continuous stream of traffic, and then use this traffic to sell the company’s products.”

”In my opinion, the best platform for doing business in the future is the internet, and the most profitable business on the internet is essentially to secure a piece of ground, create some programs to attract a continuous stream of customers, and then sell products to them.”

Although Zhang Jingdong didn’t explain everything thoroughly, Lin Ruotang, being a seasoned businessperson, basically understood most of it by now.

She also knew that Zhang Jingdong was already being quite candid, and if it weren’t for her being He Jieyu’s mother, he would definitely not disclose these details to her.

Then she said, ”Alright, go ahead. If you encounter any problems in the process, feel free to call me anytime.”

Zhang Jingdong immediately responded naturally, ”Thank you, Mom!”

Caught off guard, Lin Ruotang glanced at him with a mix of shyness and elation, ”Don’t call me that casually!”

He Jieyu cheerfully said, ”Mom, don’t hold back. If you really got such a capable son-in-law like Jingdong, you’d definitely be grinning from ear to ear every day!”

At this, Lin Ruotang jokingly replied, ”Son-in-law? Do you think you can win over your Mr. Yan? Or over Mr. Qin? Or even over Xiao Fei?”

He Jieyu felt a bit discouraged at first but quickly thought of something: ”I don’t need to fight with them. In the future, when we reach a certain age, we can all go to the UAE; by then, Jingdong can marry all of us at once!”

”Jingdong, what do you think of my idea?”

Zhang Jingdong nodded in agreement, ”Wow, that idea actually seems quite feasible, let’s settle on that then!”

Having no way to deal with these two lively individuals, Lin Ruotang had no choice but to start eating on her own.

Around 9 o’clock, the three of them finished breakfast.

Zhang Jingdong said goodbye to He Jieyu and Lin Ruotang and left the house first.

Half an hour later, He Jieyu parked the car near the Starbucks in front of Maple Forest Building.

They kissed for about five minutes, then He Jieyu said, ”Alright, you’d better get going. I have to head over now!”

Zhang Jingdong noticed something unusual in her tone and teasingly said, ”Why do I feel like you’re a bit anxious?”

He Jieyu immediately replied, ”How can I not be anxious? When you were not in Jiangdu a few days ago, I almost slipped when talking about you with Mr. Yan. Now that we’ve… you know, it’s even harder to keep up the act in front of her!”

”If I get found out, I’m done!”

Zhang Jingdong chuckled, ”In that case, why don’t I just tell her about us when I talk to her later? I’m sure she’ll be accepting!”

He Jieyu quickly waved her hand, ”Please don’t!”

”Why not? She’ll find out sooner or later anyway.”

”No way! Even if we tell her, it can’t be today!”

Seeing that Zhang Jingdong was still a bit confused, He Jieyu patiently explained, ”You don’t know, but if you were with another woman in Hang City the other day, Mr. Yan probably wouldn’t be upset at all.”

”But you were with Ye Jinyan, and Mr. Yan is actually a bit upset!”

”Of course, not the kind of upset you might think. More accurately, Mr. Yan feels like she lost to Ye Jinyan in this round.”

”They’ve always been competing, openly and secretly, in the business world of Jiangdu. This time, with Ye Jinyan getting to you first, do you think Mr. Yan can tolerate that?”

”She can’t vent her anger on Ye Jinyan, so she will definitely take it out on you. If you tell her about us now, she’ll honestly get mad at you! It could even spark genuine anger towards me!”
