Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

”Are you going to speak up or do you actually enjoy my intense questioning?”

”You...”

Although Lin Qingci was annoyed, she knew Zhang Jingdong was capable of anything, so she reluctantly said, ”Alright, I’ll talk, okay? You’re just so domineering!”

”It’s not that I’m domineering, it’s that you’re too subtle. If you had told me everything right away, none of this would have happened, right?”

”Hmph...”

”Alright, hurry up and tell me. I’m really eager to know.”

Lin Qingci shot a glance at Zhang Jingdong, ”It was...when you first came to the company.”

”At that time, although you seemed a bit carefree, I realized your abilities were really impressive, especially in business acumen and strategic vision. Honestly, you’re better than any entrepreneur I’ve met before.”

”And since I was young, I’ve liked men who are capable but act cool, so... I started to like you back then.”

”Congratulations to the host for successfully getting the target to admit their fondness for you. Reward: 200,000 yuan!”

”So you like my business skills, huh? Well, it was a bit unexpected, but your words sound sincere.”

”Alright, since you like me this way, let’s get down to business.”

”So far, how many people have signed up for the influencer recruitment plan?”

Instead of answering immediately, Lin Qingci looked at Zhang Jingdong’s hands, ”Boss, since we’re starting to talk business, shouldn’t you let go of me first?”

”How am I supposed to report to you like this?”

Zhang Jingdong didn’t release her and said, ”President Lin, this is what sets our family business apart from other companies.”

”In the future, most of our work reports will have this kind of atmosphere, or even more so, so you have to learn to adapt.”

”Besides, I think it’s a good thing, talking about work while also boosting our relationship, and it saves time. Three birds with one stone, why not?”

”But... what if someone sees us...”

”Don’t worry about that. I’m the boss, you’re the CEO. Everyone who comes into your office will knock except for me. Even if one or two people who lack discretion see us, they wouldn’t dare to gossip. If they did, they’d only have one result: leaving the company.”

At this point, Zhang Jingdong leaned in to kiss Lin Qingci on her pretty face, ”President Lin, you have so much work every day, so if I come to the company, I must help you find some fun at work. Otherwise, your days would be so dull, right?”

Seeing Lin Qingci still hesitating, Zhang Jingdong decided to make a bold move, ”How about I release you now and take you out tonight for the ultimate pleasure?”

”I created a massage technique myself. Customers who’ve tried it said my technique is even better than those of professional masseurs. I actually used some of my techniques just now, and you felt how wonderful it was, so... are you interested?”

Lin Qingci thought for a moment and quickly snapped out of it, ”No... no, I... I’m not mentally prepared.”

”Right now, the most important thing is to get the company up and running without distractions, or all our previous efforts will go to waste!”

Zhang Jingdong pretended to be a bit disappointed, ”So, according to you, we’ll continue with our previous agreement?”

Lin Qingci bit her lip, ”...Mm.”

”Alright, since that’s the case, can you accept it now?”

It was only then that Lin Qingci realized Zhang Jingdong’s ploy.

This guy would first make an outrageous demand, and when she refused, he’d make an even more outrageous one, finally reaching his original goal.

But she really had no choice.

Because she knew that if she didn’t agree to his request now, he might just go ahead and do it anyway.

Thinking of this, she blushed and joked, nodding with both shame and a hint of annoyance, ”...Alright, but you... you mustn’t go too far!”

Zhang Jingdong stifled a laugh, ”Don’t worry, even though I like to push boundaries, I do have principles. I may act like a scoundrel occasionally, but I’m not really one!”

”Alright then, let’s talk business.”

Lin Qingci finally felt a bit more at ease, and continued, ”Currently, we have 376 people registered, including 128 from relevant professional colleges, and 220 are university students.”

”Moreover, according to the categories you previously set—food, beauty, talent, and special skills—there are 65 in food, 86 in beauty, 123 in talent, and 102 in special skills.”

Zhang Jingdong nodded in satisfaction, ”Now the number of applicants is getting somewhere. Fine, I’ll conduct a unified interview with them tomorrow afternoon.”

Lin Qingci hesitated a little, but finally couldn’t help but speak, ”There’s actually something I don’t quite understand?”

Zhang Jingdong ran his right hand lightly over her long leg, ”Go ahead.”

”I now wonder if our influencer strategy might negatively affect our rapidly growing user base. I’m afraid if we focus too much on influencers, ordinary users might feel they don’t matter on our site and stop investing their time.”

”Also, if some influencers become major celebrities like Mu Zimei, they might be hard to manage. What do we do if they start to dominate us?”

Zhang Jingdong nodded appreciatively, ”Your concerns are very valid, but I’ve already thought ahead.”

”Firstly, regarding the initial issue, the main role of influencers is to show ordinary users what they can do on our site, and most importantly, tell them they can make money here by being an influencer.”

”Once that gets out, we won’t have to worry about our site’s user base or their engagement with it.”

”For the second point, if influencers become major celebs, we have two strategies: first, setting very important terms in their contracts like the signing duration and breach penalties.”

”Second, continuously expanding our site’s monetization channels, ensuring they can keep making money here, so they wouldn’t dare mess around with us.”
