I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 595: Chapter 52: Celestial Strike Beyond the Heavens (2)

Meanwhile, Chen Zhong used that leg as a supporting leg and jumped up.

It was at that moment Pique slid in for the tackle.

He missed the ball and didn’t hit the person either.

The fans on the Barcelona stands let out cries of despair, while the Real Madrid supporters were shouting in surprise, as if an earthquake had struck Camp Nou.

Clearly, most people did not expect this outcome when Pique went for the slide tackle.

Amidst such a scene, Valdes did not wait passively in front of the goal, but decisively chose to charge out instead.

This was not a hasty decision but a carefully considered one.

Because although Chen Zhong dodged Pique’s slide tackle, the ball was not as obedient.

The ball bounced unpredictably, like a mischievous child, making it hard to handle.

”Pique went for the slide tackle.”

”Chen Zhong first flicked the ball.”

”Then he leaped in the air, evading the slide tackle.”

”It’s as if they planned it together.”

”Valdes decided to abandon the goal and charge out.”

”This ball is quite tricky to handle!”

”What?”

Valdes’s mind kept calculating; the ball was about to enter the penalty area, and he could use his hands, the advantage was his. As long as he advanced at full speed, when Chen Zhong moved to control the ball, he could easily take it.

As Valdes was contemplating all this, he saw that Chen Zhong, in front of the descending ball, did not seem to have any intention of stopping it.

What?

Is he not going to stop the ball?

To be honest, Chen Zhong’s flick over the defender was not too impressive.

Because the ball was flicked a bit too high, making it time-consuming to handle.

But...

What if he had no intention of flicking the ball at all?

As a footballer, he’d play FIFA-like soccer games, where some players oddly enjoy flicking the ball and then shooting. And now?

Valdes paused his advance, his face filled with shock and disbelief.

Not only Valdes was in disbelief, but the live audience, the sideline coaches, and the players on the field all saw Chen Zhong standing in front of the ball, waiting for it to drop, then turning sideways...

At that moment, it was as if Zidane’s spirit had possessed him.

The similar build, the similar posture merged into one.

”Boom”

It was as if this kick landed on Valdes’s chest, and on the chest of countless Barcelona fans.

The ball didn’t rocket straight towards the goal but with an elegant arc, it soared then just like that dropped steeply.

In Valdes’s reluctant gaze, underneath his outstretched hand, it nestled into the net.

The whole of Camp Nou, after a brief silence, was instantly flooded with the fans’ voices.

”A fairy from heaven!”

”Another heavenly shot reminiscent of Zidane.”

”He’s too confident.”

”So calm!”

”It’s as if everything is in his grasp.”

”Amidst the Barcelona players’ siege, he delivered a volley.”

”Sent a bizarre arc into the net.”

”2:3”

”Real Madrid has overtaken the score.”

”Chen Zhong has scored twice!”

”This perhaps could be the goal that decides the match!”

Guardiola clapped his hands against his head, filled with disbelief. He had considered countless possibilities but never expected Chen Zhong to still smoothly fire a long-range shot, after taking down Busquets and dodging Pique’s slide, a world-class goal, a fairy shot.

A player like this should belong to his team!

Mourinho was also beaming with joy, with a smug little expression and a strutting little walk on the sidelines, revealing just how delighted he was.

Busquets watched Chen Zhong running towards the corner flag, expressionless, with a psychological shadow over him. This guy is really too strong; even back in the team, facing Yaya Toure, he never felt such pressure.

Pique looked serious, hands on his hips, staring at Chen Zhong with ”dead fish eyes,” as if trying to see through Chen Zhong’s essence from his back.

Just now, he was like a clown, accompanied by Chen Zhong’s slide, and became a condiment for his world-class goal.

Messi lowered his head, bent down, and tightened his shoelaces. Although he said nothing, the fire of desire in his eyes seemed to want to ignite his whole being.

The overwhelming fighting spirit would make anyone looking at Messi exclaim: ”So this is the real Messi.”

Many think Messi is humble, but in truth, his competitive spirit is no less than Cristiano Ronaldo’s.

Chen Zhong ran to the corner flag and made his signature celebration move after leaping high.

As he landed, the Real Madrid fans in the stands all shouted in unison: ”Chen!”

”Chen Zhong has scored again!”

”He may not have Messi’s dribbling skills.”

”But when he charges, he’s unstoppable too.”

”Messi’s dazzling dribbles are spectacular, but Chen Zhong’s bulldozing run is equally impressive.”

The game continued with Barcelona kicking off again.

Clearly, they were more cautious this time, but Real Madrid put them under considerable psychological pressure with 3 goals, and the Barcelona players were also a bit impatient now.

Just as Xavi tried to switch the ball to the left, Khedira, Chen Zhong, and Negredo’s triangular trap caused Barcelona’s passing to make an error.

This scene caught the attention of many coaches.

Perhaps some high pressing could work against Barcelona?

Real Madrid launched another counterattack; the Portuguese on the flank repeated a move, passing the ball to Negredo, but Barcelona’s players were no fools.

This time, Puyol preemptively cleared the ball.

This scene left many Real Madrid fans lamenting.

Guardiola, sensing the players’ anxious mindset, loudly called out the players’ names from the sideline, urging them to calm down.

While on the field, noticing Barcelona began prioritizing the quality of their passes and ball control, Chen Zhong also shouted: ”Hold your positions.”

”Block the passing lanes.”

Real Madrid also shifted from the high-intensity pressing that consumed a lot of energy to holding positions, forcing Barcelona into a positional battle mode.

Mourinho nodded approvingly when he saw this.

This was the tactic he had discussed before the match.

When Barcelona attempted to patiently control the ball, it’s tough to snatch it from their feet using pressing tactics. At this time, holding positions and blocking their passing lanes was a better choice.

Then Chen Zhong would singly guard Messi tightly.

Making it tough for Barcelona to break through using Messi’s individual skills.

Messi glanced at Chen Zhong beside him with some helplessness, now really disliking this big guy.

Guardiola recognized Mourinho’s strategy but did not panic; instead, a slight smile appeared on his lips.

”Barcelona is controlling the ball.”

”Nearly 30 passes within a minute.”

”Real Madrid holds their positions.”

Barcelona is sometimes criticized by fans for having many ineffective passes, which can seem tedious at times.

Xavi received the ball and, unsurprisingly, made another ordinary switch pass.

The ball came to the left, to Villa’s feet.

David Villa, known as Huluwa by domestic fans.

He used to play for Valencia and openly declared he would never join Real Madrid in public.

This season, Villa joined Barcelona, and the club prepared an elaborate introduction for his debut; a red or blue card was placed on each seat in Section 7 of Camp Nou. When lifted, the thousands of cards formed the vibrant number ”7,” representing the club and fans’ heartfelt wishes for Villa.

Villa controlled the ball at his feet, looking at Ramos, his national teammate, a glint flashing in his eyes.

”Barcelona passed it to Xavi.”

”Xavi passed the ball.”

”Villa.”

”Not far away is his national team teammate Ramos.”

”The two should be quite familiar with each other.”

”What will Villa do?”

”Hmm?”

Everyone thought Villa would pass it back again, as he did before. Ramos didn’t press aggressively either.

But this time, Villa opted for a forceful breakthrough.
