I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 570: Chapter 40: Be More Selfish, Chen! (Part 2)

Just like Barcelona’s ”La Masia Culture”, no matter how outstanding you are, if you’re not a ”La Masia product”, you’re eternally a step behind.

It’s the same in Real Madrid.

No matter if you score a four or five goals in a game, or win the Ballon d’Or, with Chen Zhong around, you can only ever be second best.

Chen Zhong thinks he’s being ”merciful”, but in reality, he’s being ”cruel”.

The ”data” he’s giving away now gives Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain some media praise, makes them see hope and light.

But in reality, they’ve never had any ”hope” from the start.

The truly correct approach is for Chen Zhong to continue playing perfectly, producing indisputable statistics season after season, letting them know who the ”boss” is, and then accept being ”second”, or leave if they don’t accept it to seek fortunes elsewhere.

”I am the captain of the team.”

Chen Zhong didn’t respond directly to Munirio, just stubbornly looked at the Portuguese.

Munirio smiled helplessly and said seriously to Chen Zhong, ”Then go tell them.”

”And be selfish!”

”Chen!”

Munirio actually knew that Chen Zhong had felt something already; in the second half of the first half, when the team started to look for Chen Zhong to set up for his 700th goal, it was clear.

But...

He thought it was too slow.

”Don’t be a coward.”

”As the team captain, as the core, you need to take on your responsibilities. Did I put you in this position so you could drop back to defend?”

”Did I bring in Sami Khedira so you could drop back to clean up after them?”

”Listen, Chen,” Munirio placed both hands on Chen Zhong’s shoulders, looking at the young man before him and said, ”You don’t need to be responsible for how many goals the team concedes.”

”You need to do just three damn things.”

”Score goals, score goals, and also damn score goals.”

”When you have a chance to score, then damn well strive to score.”

”Listen, kid.”

”My tactics allow only one person in the team to have free reign to fire at will.”

”Do you want it?”

”Do you want it???”

”Yes.” Chen Zhong said firmly to the increasingly excited Munirio, and Munirio also took a deep breath, calming himself a little.

Lastly, looking at Chen Zhong, he suddenly said.

”Actually, I think Cristiano is more suitable for this role.”

”He has enough hunger for goals.”

”But that would take too long.”

After riling him up, Munirio swaggered out of the dressing room, his lips couldn’t help but curl into a small smile, speaking and then leaving, damn it was thrilling...

Just a pity for Milan in the second half.

And true to form, Chen Zhong pressed his lips, with a cold face, returned to the pitch.

Seeing Chen Zhong with such a serious attitude, the Real Madrid players also slowly became serious.

This suddenly put a lot of pressure on Milan.

”The second half begins.”

”The camera is on Chen Zhong.”

”His expression is quite serious, a rare sight to see him with such a solemn look.”

”Hmm? The other Real Madrid players also seem much more serious now.”

”Mourinho has already made a substitution at halftime.”

”Substituting Benzema for Higuain.”

Francisco looked uneasy on the sidelines as Mourinho took the field, leaning over quietly to ask, ”What did you say to Chen?”

”He looks quite unhappy.”

”Nothing.” Mourinho glanced at Francisco, a content smile on his face. After observing the state of the Real Madrid players, his smile became even more genuine.

Now, the Real Madrid players’ state could be described as ”serious” in gaming terms.

Originally, you and your brother both had great skills, playing a casual match today, winning or losing didn’t matter, but the internet cafe had a small reward of five bucks for winning.

Then, suddenly your brother was taunted by the opponent, continuously provoked, and then he got angry, with a cold face.

You didn’t say anything, but also flexed your fingers, ready to wreak havoc in turn.

”Real Madrid’s attack.”

”The combination of C. Ronaldo and Marcelo.”

”Very skilled.”

”Beautiful!”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo faced Abate, one faked a forward run to attract Abate’s attention, and the other quickly passed the ball behind Abate.

Abate turned around quickly, but against Marcelo’s lob pass, he could only stretch his leg in vain.

This kind of cooperation was something that was absolutely not seen in Real Madrid in the first half.

Cristiano Ronaldo had been seeking a fair contest with Abate, which eventually turned into mutual animosity.

”Marcelo takes the ball.”

”Lobbing again to C. Ronaldo.”

”C. Ronaldo dribbles.”

”Passed him.”

”Cuts inside!”

”Directly thrusting into Milan’s penalty area!”

The Milan fans in the stands exclaimed, they didn’t expect Abate, who performed well in the first half, to be turned into a sieve at the start of the second half.

With space, Cristiano Ronaldo quickly accelerated to his max.

He attracted nearby Milan players.

It looked like he was about to pierce directly into Milan’s heart.

”Milan quickly falls back on defense.”

”What will C. Ronaldo do.”

”Take it past,”,

”Or choose to shoot here?”

”Hmm?”

Powerful shots from outside the penalty box have always been a Portuguese’s forte, the Portuguese slowed down his pace, then lifted his powerful thigh.

Milan players quickly made various remedial actions, but Cristiano Ronaldo halted suddenly, with a beautiful rabona pass, flicking the ball to the side.

A flash of surprise shone in Mourinho’s eyes, he originally thought Cristiano Ronaldo would choose to shoot, while Allegri also looked fearfully at the charging figure outside the penalty area.

Chen Zhong!

No one is more aware than the Milanese of the terror that is Chen Zhong’s forward charges.

No one knows better than the Milanese how terrifying Chen Zhong’s heavy cannon shots are.

The last time Milan faced a trophyless season it was Chen Zhong’s repeated charges, heavy cannon shots that secured them the UEFA Europa League and league titles.

On the stands at San Siro Stadium, all Milan fans could no longer care about everything Chen Zhong had done for them in the past.

They used every means possible to try to distract Chen Zhong.

Green lasers, boos, whistles.

And Milan players were also attempting to block Chen Zhong.

Gattuso was the closest player to Chen Zhong.

At this moment, the ”Butcher” who innocently got a yellow card in the first half had his face flushed with anger.

Damn it.

Rescind that red card for me!

What the hell did you grow up eating!

Can’t hold him back! Can’t hold him back at all!

The veins stood out on the Butcher’s neck, but he couldn’t hold back that determined forward-moving figure at all.

He was practically hanging on Chen Zhong, almost being dragged along as Chen Zhong ran, but it barely had any effect on Chen Zhong.

Chen Zhong took a deep breath, already preparing for a shot during his run.

He estimated the drop point of the ball, gradually slowed down, his arms began to stretch out to deal with Gattuso clinging to him.

He powerfully planted his supporting foot on the ground, turned sideways, and fiercely volleyed the ball that was dropping down.

”Boom!”

The ball wanting to land calmly flew back into the air again.

And this time, its direction was the Milan goal.

This shot, like Zidane’s heavenly volley back then.

Straight into the top corner of the net.

”The ball is in!!!”

”Chen Zhong!”

”A heavenly volley!”

”This is Real Madrid’s 700th goal in European competition.”

”And Chen Zhong, with this extraordinarily brilliant volley.”

”Etches his name into Real Madrid’s team history!”
