New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

Chapter 175: The World Through Eternal Purity’s Eyes

Eternal Purity was not surprised by Yu Xian’s decision. ”As you wish!”

She tapped him between the eyebrows. The next instant, the symbol of an eye appeared inside his mind, and his eyes spun uncontrollably. The nerves connecting them to the eye sockets were severed, and two trails of blood ran down his cheeks.

With his regenerative ability, an injury like this would have ordinarily healed in an instant. This time, however, his regeneration seemed to accept that he no longer possessed eyes. The internal neural pathways simply healed shut.

Yu Xian opened his eyes wide, and his eyeballs slipped free from their sockets. Fortunately, he caught both of them in his hands. The first stage of Mr. Eye’s legacy is...

Under the influence of the eye symbol, the insides of his eye sockets gradually became pitch-black. Even when light shone into them, nothing was visible, as though they led into a bottomless abyss.

At that moment, Yu Xian felt an endless craving for eyes. It seemed as though his eye sockets could contain an unlimited number of them. Suppressing the desire, he focused on the eye symbol within his mind, striving to comprehend the essence of Mr. Eye’s legacy.

By then, others had also noticed the changes taking place in Yu Xian. Gong Qian was about to step forward, but Zhang Shou placed a hand on her shoulder and signaled for her to wait and observe rather than disturb him.

Zhang Shou knew perfectly well that Yu Xian was not the type to suffer in silence for the sake of appearances. If he truly needed help, he would call out immediately. Since he had not done so, he didn’t require any help. By now, Zhang Shou was already accustomed to Yu Xian’s abilities constantly changing and guessed that Yu Xian was probably awakening yet another strange ability.

Yu Xian raised his empty sockets toward the sun. ”The eyes are the windows of heaven and earth, the pivot of spiritual perception. Above, they correspond to the Three Luminaries; below, they connect to the Nine Hells.”

He inserted his right eyeball into his left socket. The eyeball shook violently. He hurriedly lowered his head and inserted his left eyeball into his right socket. Now, both eyes shook uncontrollably. They seemed desperate to return to their original sockets. However, since each socket was already occupied, they gradually settled down after struggling in vain for a while.

Yu Xian blinked repeatedly. Only after both eyes had completely stabilized did he raise his head and look around. His vision was rather fascinating. What his left and right eyes saw was reversed, yet his brain could combine both perspectives into a flawless image.

Zhang Shou saw that it seemed Yu Xian had finished awakening his ability. ”Salted Fish, are you all right?”

Yu Xian looked at him, nodded, and smiled. ”Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just need a little time to adjust to the new ability.”

Zhang Shou nodded. ”Call me if anything happens.”

Zhang Shou ushered everyone away to give Yu Xian time to get used to his new ability.

Yu Xian nodded. ”All right!”

Once everyone had left, his right eye socket turned pitch-black. Yu Xian created an eyeball bubble and inserted it into the empty socket. However, it was immediately rejected. Evidently, an eyeball bubble was not a real eye and therefore did not meet the requirements.

His left eyeball reappeared in his right socket. Frowning, he looked at Eternal Purity. ”Auntie, Mr. Eye’s legacy seems to create an incredibly strong craving for eyeballs. Is there any way to eliminate it?”

”That craving is your thirst for knowledge. The stronger your desire to learn, the more intensely you will crave eyeballs,” Eternal Purity explained.

”But I still can’t see the impurities within my body. Why is that?”

”Because you’re still missing one eye,” Eternal Purity replied with a smile.

She plucked out her right eye and handed it to Yu Xian. Then she blinked, and another right eye instantly grew in its place. All this time, she had been smiling at him as though nothing had happened.

Yu Xian had assumed that learning Mr. Eye’s legacy would be enough to let him see impurities. It turned out that he needed Eternal Purity’s eyeball as well. Does this not mean that... an eye came knocking on my door all by itself?

At that moment, he felt as though the flag he had raised earlier was now fluttering triumphantly above his head.

Eternal Purity looked at him. ”You don’t want it?”

Yu Xian gritted his teeth. ”I do!”

It was too late to refuse. He reached out, accepted Eternal Purity’s right eye, and inserted it into his empty eye socket. His pupil immediately trembled, and the eye turned green. At the same time, an overwhelming sense of satisfaction filled his heart, as though every desire within him had finally been fulfilled.

Yu Xian closed his eyes with bliss. Only after a long while did he open them again, whereupon he discovered that the world he saw had undergone a complete transformation.

Through his right eye, the world contained an infinite variety of colors. Many of the shades of color he saw could not be described using any language he knew because no words existed for them.

Eternal Purity, standing before him, was immaculate. There was not the slightest trace of dust, impurity, or filth anywhere on her. Her entire being was flawlessly translucent and pristine. She was unquestionably the cleanest life-form Yu Xian had ever seen.

He turned his gaze toward the others. All three of Zhang Shou, Gong Qian, and Bluebird carried impurities, dust, bacteria, and mites. Zhang Shou had the most impurities, but relatively few bacteria and mites. Gong Qian was the exact opposite. As for Bluebird, she had plenty of everything.

The one who surprised Yu Xian most was Xiong Da. Whether it was impurities or other forms of grime, there was very little on his body. Yu Xian carefully examined him with his right eye and saw flames blazing within his body. Evidently, those flames were the reason he remained so clean.

In fact, Eternal Purity’s eye could perceive far more than impurities and filth. It could also see many other strange and inexplicable things. For example, when Yu Xian focused on the tops of their heads, he could see faint light shining through the crowns of their skulls. When he examined someone as a whole, he could perceive the aura surrounding their body.

There was also an extraordinarily mysterious ability to sense good and evil. When he looked at Zhang Shou, for example, he could sense that Zhang Shou had killed many animals and two people. Bluebird had killed thirty people, while Gong Qian had killed twenty-six. Xiong Da, on the other hand, had never killed a person, though he had killed hundreds of thousands of animals.

However, none of them carried an evil aura. The people they had killed had definitely been criminals or individuals who deserved death. Consequently, their hearts contained no guilt, wicked thoughts, malice, or killing intent.

Just as Yu Xian was about to investigate what other abilities Eternal Purity’s eye possessed, a tiny eyeball bubble in space that had been observing Lunar Orb suddenly detected movement. After learning that Edward was hiding on Lunar Orb, Yu Xian had redirected one of the bubbles he had left behind during his journey to the Red Planet and assigned it to keep watch over the lunar surface.

At that moment, a cross-shaped flash of crimson light appeared on the far side of Lunar Orb. The red light shot toward the Blue Planet at tremendous speed. Under Yu Xian’s control, countless spatial bubbles rapidly transformed into eyeball bubbles and locked onto the crimson light. The crimson light was moving extraordinarily fast, maintaining a speed of roughly Mach 300. At that rate, it would reach the Blue Planet in about an hour.

Through eyeball bubbles of various sizes, Yu Xian continuously attempted to analyze what was inside the crimson light. However, the light surrounding it was so dense that he could not see what lay within.

But he didn’t need to see it to know. Edward was definitely inside. The Blood Race’s progenitor had mastered his Star-rank power and returned!
