New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

After going over the news about Island Nation, everyone soon discovered that vampires had attacked many nations across the world.

”Something happened in Goros too!”

”Nanyor has also been attacked!”

”My god, Sylar too!”

Numerous blood banks had been contaminated, with at least several hundred thousand victims in each nation. Furthermore, many estates that had once belonged to vampires were now deserted.

Wu Shuang, captain of the Iron Fist Squad, held his phone and looked around at everyone. ”How strong do you think the progenitor is now?”

Since several hundred thousand victims had been turned in each country, the Blood Race’s progenitor had seized the power of more than a million newly formed vampires. Even if each person contributed only 0.0001 points of Power, the combined total would still be terrifying.

Moreover, the progenitor could also simply absorb the power of existing vampires. There were already a considerable number of vampires in the world. If he drained all of them, it would probably take the combined strength of every powerhouse on Blue Planet to kill him.

Gong Qian gravely said, ”I think we should immediately inspect every blood bank in our country. We should also place everyone connected to the Blood Race under surveillance.”

Xiao Cheng reassured everyone. ”Don’t worry. Some vampire thralls did attempt to infiltrate blood banks last night, but the Combat Police in each city already dealt with them.”

As soon as news arrived that the Blood Race’s progenitor had broken through to Dragon rank, Qilin, Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Turtle had all gone on high alert. Without disturbing the public, every military district had entered a state of combat readiness. The moment the Blood Race dared to make a move against Huaxia, they would face a devastating counterattack.

”Does what they’ve done count as a declaration of war against us?” Dubhe asked.

Xiao Cheng interlaced his fingers. ”Once the director returns, we’ll have our answer.”

Yu Xian stared at his phone and shared his analysis. ”Declaring the founding of a nation and attacking blood banks across multiple nations... such impatience and recklessness are completely unlike the progenitor of the Blood Race. He’s probably trying to divert everyone’s attention and buy himself time. Romulus Dominion may not even be his true base of operations. And if he really has some larger plan, there will probably be more attacks to come.”

Gong Qian immediately caught on to his implication. ”A strategy of wearing down the enemy?”

Yu Xian nodded. ”The progenitor has probably been preparing for many years. We have no idea how many contingencies he has in place...”

A ringtone suddenly interrupted Yu Xian. He glanced at the caller’s name and stood up. ”It’s Nora, Marcus’s daughter. She may have more information.”

He quickly answered as he walked outside to take Nora’s call. The moment the call connected, Yu Xian heard Nora sobbing softly. ”Nora, what’s wrong?”

A spatial bubble enveloped him. The next instant, he appeared in Ice City, directly in front of her mother’s home. On the phone, he could hear that Nora was in tears.

—Yu Xian, my father... he... he’s dead.

Yu Xian froze, then rapidly fired off three questions in succession. ”Nora, are you all right? Are you at home? Can I come see you?”

Without waiting for her reply, he enveloped himself in red light. He appeared inside a pitch-black room, where Nora sat on the bed wrapped in a thin duvet, holding her phone and sobbing uncontrollably.

He hurried over and sat beside her at the head of the bed. Looking at her weeping, he wanted to comfort her but had no idea what to say. It wasn’t as if he could just say, My dad is dead too...

Her eyes red and swollen, Nora lowered her phone and pressed her other hand against her chest. ”Yu Xian, my father and I could sense each other. Just now, I suddenly couldn’t feel him anymore. I also saw what happened in his final moments. The progenitor killed him. Before he died, he told me to seek protection from the authorities.”

Vampires created through a proper First Bite could indeed sense those within their bloodline. For example, when Yu Xian had tried to kill Roche, Marcus had sensed it. He immediately used a blood art to take control of Roche and negotiate with him.

The primary reason the Blood Race despised wild vampires was that they fell completely outside this network of perception, which was exactly why they were branded as ”wild” in the first place. Within the Blood Race, they were also derogatorily referred to as bastard or mongrel vampires.

Yu Xian frowned, finding the situation hard to believe. ”Why would the progenitor kill your father? Wasn’t he one of the progenitor’s most trusted people?”

Nora unconsciously crushed the phone in her hand. ”The progenitor ordered my father to bring me back to Romulus Dominion, but my father refused.”

Yu Xian had considered that possibility as well. He simply could not believe that the progenitor could be so ruthless. As far as he knew, Marcus had not merely been the progenitor’s subordinate. The two of them had also been friends. After the progenitor became a vampire, the first people he turned were his family and close friends. Most of them had eventually died. Marcus had survived until now because he was meticulous and cautious in everything he did.

Yu Xian’s nose twitched, and he glanced toward the window. ”Nora, this place is no longer safe. Get your mother. We’re going to Qilin’s headquarters.”

Since the progenitor would not spare even his friend, he certainly would not show any mercy to that friend’s daughter. What Yu Xian had not expected was that the progenitor had not sent vampires after her. Instead, he had hired another faction.

A flashbang suddenly detonated outside the window. A barrage of bullets shattered the glass and flew toward Yu Xian.

The people that the progenitor had sent to capture Nora had divided themselves into two groups: one in Silver City and the other in Ice City. Their main force was actually stationed in Silver City. The team in Ice City was merely taking a chance. Even if they failed to capture Nora, they could seize her mother.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Yu Xian let the bullets strike the scales of the Dragon Shield. Covering Nora’s eyes with one hand, he instantly enveloped them both in red light and appeared in her mother’s room.

Nora’s mother had already awakened. When she saw Yu Xian appear while holding Nora, she showed no surprise.

Yu Xian hurried toward her. ”Let’s go!”

At that moment, a bullet punched through the window, aimed directly at Nora’s mother. He had been about to take her hand but was forced to change course. At the same time, countless black threads wove themselves into armor around his hand. He instantly caught the three-centimeter-long bullet.

Two men dressed in black crashed through the window. One charged toward Nora’s mother, while the other rushed toward Yu Xian. Each held a one-meter-long blade in their left hand and a large-caliber handgun meant for supernatural beings in their right. As they closed in, both continuously fired at Yu Xian.

Yu Xian held Nora with one arm while his other hand, encased in black-thread armor, rapidly caught every bullet. Just as one of the men drew near, he flicked his hand. The bullets scattered toward the man like flower petals tossed by a celestial maiden. At such close range, there was no room to evade. Caught off guard, the man was instantly riddled with bullets, staggering backward before unwillingly collapsing to the floor.

Yu Xian could have let the bullets strike the Dragon Shield instead of catching them. But he had caught them precisely for this counterattack.

On the other side, just as the second man approached Nora’s mother, she pulled a handgun from beneath the blanket and squeezed the trigger. However, a furry arm suddenly appeared from below her. The arm pushed the barrel upward, forcing her to raise her gun. Every bullet struck the ceiling.

The man in black seized the opportunity to step forward and snatch the gun from her hand, but an elastic bubble instantly expanded between them and sent him flying backward. His back slammed into the wall, and he spat a mouthful of blood through his mask.
