New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP

Chapter 173: Yu Xian’s Super Physique

After everyone had finished fooling around, Yu Xian finally remembered the real reason he had called them over. He gathered everyone and first explained the concept of Star rank, then the methods of advancing to it. After that, he asked them to help him train through sparring.

Naturally, everyone was willing to help. Besides, the training would benefit them as well.

Gong Qian stared at Yu Xian with blazing enthusiasm as she cracked her knuckles. ”Who’s going first?”

A chill ran down Yu Xian’s back. He had the distinct feeling that Gong Qian simply wanted an excuse to beat him up. He hurriedly rose and said, ”Xiong Da and I will warm up first. You two can rest for now.”

Xiong Da pointed at his nose, his face filled with alarm. ”Boss, you want me to fight you?”

Yu Xian smiled. ”Don’t worry. I’ll use only hand-to-hand combat. I won’t use any of my other abilities.”

Xiong Da relaxed and nodded. ”Alright then. You promised.”

Bluebird curiously glanced around. ”Salted Fish, where are you planning to spar? There isn’t even an arena here.”

Yu Xian smiled. He raised a hand and pointed toward the sea. ”Why, the ocean, of course!”

He cast the Art of Blending All. The ability instantly absorbed the heat of the sea, and the entire stretch of sea before them rapidly froze.

Stunned, they stared at this astonishing sight in disbelief. The ocean had frozen at Yu Xian’s command. It was practically the work of a god.

Yu Xian turned to Xiong Da. ”Let’s go!”

Xiong Da emphasized once again. ”We agreed, Boss. You can use only hand-to-hand combat.”

Yu Xian chuckled. ”Don’t worry. I’ll rely purely on my physical abilities.”

He also wanted to know just how powerful he had become when relying solely on his body.

The man and bear crossed the frozen sea until they were several hundred meters from shore. The three spectators on the beach settled into their chairs, took out various snacks, and prepared to enjoy the show.

Standing on the ice, Yu Xian beckoned to Xiong Da. ”Come on!”

Xiong Da immediately roared and swung a massive paw at him. With his reaction speed, Yu Xian could easily step backward and avoid the strike. However, he instead thrust out his palm at Xiong Da. Their palms collided in midair. The ice beneath them instantly caved in, and countless cracks spread across its surface.

Xiong Da sucked in a sharp breath. He had never expected the seemingly slender and frail Yu Xian to possess such tremendous physical strength.

With another roar, Xiong Da began raining blows upon Yu Xian with both paws. ”Great Bear Barrage!”

Yu Xian remained rooted in place and countered with both hands at equally astonishing speed. Their palms clashed repeatedly in midair as shards of ice flew around them, gradually forming a cloud of icy mist.

Suddenly, Xiong Da curled himself into a ball and kicked off the ground. Despite his enormous size, he leaped ten meters into the air before crashing down.

He already weighed over ten tons. Combined with the demonic energy he channeled into his downward charge, the resulting impact would be terrifying. Even by a conservative estimate, the force of the attack would be dozens of times greater than his body weight.

Yu Xian still did not dodge. As Xiong Da descended upon him like a meteor, he gritted his teeth and raised both hands. At the same time, his Perfect Lifeform Heart thumped.

Awaken, Super Bones!

He had accumulated enough energy to awaken another ability long ago. He simply had not decided which was better to activate first: Super Bones or Super Nerves. Now, through this spar, he had his answer.

Although Super Nerves would grant him greater reaction speed, he would rather strengthen his defenses first. After all, nothing appealed to a man more than meeting brute force with brute force.

The bones throughout his body seemed to glow. When Dragon Bones and Python Sinews combined with Super Bones, their hardness soared once again.

The enormous Xiong Da came crashing down like a mountain collapsing on him. However, Yu Xian caught him with his hands, his posture resembling a mighty warlord raising a colossal cauldron. Every muscle in his body bulged under the terrifying pressure. The ice beneath him instantly shattered, forming a crater ten meters deep.

Even Yu Xian’s clothes burst apart. Xiong Da’s downward strike carried several hundred tons of force and nearly crushed him. Yu Xian’s current strength was only around eighty tons. The only reason he could withstand the impact was that his bones were hard enough.

At that moment, Xiong Da twisted himself and viciously brought down his paw upon Yu Xian, who was still supporting his weight. The blow sent Yu Xian flying. Xiong Da flipped through the air and landed on his feet, wearing a triumphant grin.

In the distance, Yu Xian slid several thousand meters across the ice on his back. He drew a deep breath, then broke into a grin of his own. This feeling is incredible.

He sprang upright with a kip-up. From afar, Xiong Da shouted, ”Boss, I’m going to start using abilities now!”

Yu Xian smiled. ”Bring it on!”

The restriction in this spar prevented only Yu Xian from using his other abilities. Xiong Da was free to use his.

The V-shaped marking on Xiong Da’s chest gradually turned red. With a low growl, flames flickered beneath his feet, and he instantly appeared before Yu Xian. He landed a spinning kick squarely on Yu Xian’s abdomen.

The instant the kick connected, flames erupted from the sole of his foot, sending Yu Xian flying again. The flames even burned through the clothing over his abdomen, leaving behind a bear-paw-shaped mark.

However, Yu Xian possessed Super Skin. His skin could withstand temperatures as high as 5,000°C and as low as -150°C while also providing exceptionally strong resistance against impacts. Thus, despite taking Xiong Da’s kick head-on, he felt only a little pain. More than the pain, however, he was shocked by the ability Xiong Da had just used.

While flying backward, Yu Xian drove one foot into the ice below. After plowing a long trench through its surface, he finally came to a stop. He glanced down at his clothes in surprise. ”The Rocket Bear Art!”

It had only been a month since he had bought the Rocket Bear Art for Xiong Da. He had not expected Xiong Da to master it so quickly.

Yu Xian had originally assumed that Xiong Da would use the techniques he had employed during his spar with Nora. He had even planned how to deal with Xiong Da’s Black Wind. However, Xiong Da had abandoned the Black Wind and started using the Rocket Bear Art.

Despite his enormous size, Xiong Da’s bones and muscles were more than capable of supporting agile movement. The fat covering his body barely hindered him. Instead, it greatly enhanced his defenses. For him, being fat truly brought nothing but benefits.

Flames enveloped Xiong Da. As they converged behind him and erupted backward, he leaped into the air and hurled himself straight at Yu Xian. ”Boss, eat my Rocket Impact!”

He was incredibly fast, but Yu Xian again chose not to dodge. He swiftly opened his mouth and drew a deep breath. Aiming at the rapidly approaching opponent, he forcefully expelled the air from his lungs.

Super Lungs allowed him to compress air. The blast of air Yu Xian fired was even more terrifying than the super armor-piercing rounds used on sniper rifles to hunt supernatural beasts. Moreover, it was completely invisible to the naked eye.

The compressed-air bullet struck the rapidly approaching Xiong Da squarely in the chest. Xiong Da felt a sharp pain and immediately lost control of the flames surrounding him. As the fire descended into chaos, he crashed headfirst into the ice and tumbled across its surface before finally coming to a stop. The intense heat radiating from him instantly melted the ice beneath him, sending clouds of steam billowing into the air.

Xiong Da lay sprawled on the ground, his face twisted in pain, and complained, ”Boss, that’s cheating! Didn’t we agree that you wouldn’t use any other abilities? How can you still call that hand-to-hand combat?”

Yu Xian retorted, ”All I did was breathe in and blow the air back out. Are you saying even breathing is against the rules?”

”You really didn’t use any supernatural abilities?” Xiong Da skeptically asked as he climbed back to his feet.

Left with no choice, Yu Xian turned toward a frozen wave in the distance and drew another deep breath. The next moment, he opened his mouth and exhaled, instantly blasting a hole through the frozen wave with a bullet of compressed air.

Xiong Da sucked in a sharp breath. He hadn’t noticed even the slightest fluctuation of energy. It truly was an effect produced solely by Yu Xian’s body. Xiong Da suddenly realized that he had been far too confident. Even when relying purely on his physique, Yu Xian was terrifying.
