Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 640: Chapter 638: Guiding Direction [Fifth Update]

”Sister Lan, inform our IT company to create a website for me. It has to be done quickly and well!”

Lu Xiaobu said to Liang Lan.

”What kind of website?” Liang Lan was taken aback.

”A film and TV drama rating website.” Xiaobu continued: ”Then go to Emperor Electric to invite some experienced professors, as well as some film and TV stars from Xiangjiang, to become raters for the site.”

”Yes, Young Master.” Liang Lan took detailed notes and quickly started thinking about potential candidates.

”Also, ask them to work overtime to rate all the films from the past twenty, no, thirty years. Remember, the ratings need to be detailed, with sound reasoning,” murmured Xiaobu as he pondered.

”Alright, Young Master. Anything else?”

Liang Lan roughly understood what the Young Master was planning.

It was all about direction!

Controlling the public’s movie-watching orientation!

Hadn’t the young master said it? The film circle would listen to him from now on.

This ’listening’ wasn’t a forceful obedience but controlling the entire market’s viewing direction!

This was a grand project!

”The second thing, create an award for film and TV dramas. For the format, follow the current standards, but the review criteria should be as rigorous as the one for the website just mentioned,” said Lu Xiaobu once more.

Actually, these two things weren’t that unique, many people could think of them.

But the difference lies between doing them or not, and whether or not one can afford to do them.

To do or not to do is a matter of interests, while being able to do or not is a question of power!

Luckily, Lu Xiaobu has the power and doesn’t care about the issue of interests.

So, he will do it!

”I understand!” Excitement shone in Liang Lan’s eyes.

Honestly, having been with the Young Master for so long, she’d long been influenced by him!

The ordinary ways of making profit could no longer stir any emotion in her!

What she loved most, and what she looked forward to, was the Young Master undertaking those unprecedented tasks!

That feeling of breaking the rules, shattering traditional constraints, and redefining the rules – she was completely addicted to it and couldn’t extricate herself!

And now, the Young Master was taking action once again!

”Alright, let’s leave it at that for now.”

Lu Xiaobu patted his head, actually having another idea he wanted to implement.

That was to introduce a ’pay-per-minute’ movie ticketing system.

For example, when you buy a ticket, what you get isn’t just a ticket, but a card, like a transit pass!

Aside from the first one-third and the last one-third of the movie’s duration, you can choose to leave anytime during the middle third and get a refund!

This way, those relying on a few popular young celebrities to deceive audiences into buying tickets would suffer a devastating blow!

After all, if you dare deceive the audience, they’ll only give you one-third of the money and leave you with a huge loss!

He believed that if this method were truly promoted and implemented, it would be terrible news for those awful films!

However, at present, the conditions for implementing this method are not quite ready.

So, for now, he had to wait.

First, he had to guide the public’s viewing direction!

After receiving her orders, Liang Lan excitedly left to handle the tasks.

Lu Xiaobu and his group continued to eat and drink.

At this moment, Chen Feiyang said to Lu Xiaobu: ”Young Master Bu, there’s an award ceremony asking us to send a representative, how should I decline them?”

Just from his words, he didn’t expect Lu Xiaobu to agree to go but instead asked directly how to decline.

It was no surprise that he thought this way, especially since the scene at the Golden Fire Award was still vivid in his mind.

If it weren’t for the huge fuss that ”Bright Sword” has caused, they probably wouldn’t have dared to invite them to this award ceremony!

And he also heard it; the other party was actually waiting for them to decline!

After the refusal, all would be well—no trouble for their side, and the award ceremony wouldn’t have to be on tenterhooks; just leaving the awards unclaimed would suffice!

A happy resolution for everyone.

”Decline? Why decline?”

But Lu Xiaobu’s lips curled into a smile: ”This is a great opportunity! You also heard it just now, I want to make an award, and I was just lacking a platform for publicity. Here it is, the opportunity right in front of us!”

”Hisss!”

Chen Feiyang gasped at Lu Xiaobu’s words.

No way!

You’re going to promote your own award at someone else’s award ceremony?!

Isn’t that a bit too damaging?

”Yep, that’s how it’s going to be! Tell them, Young Master Xiaobu will attend in person! Send over the time and venue!” Lu Xiaobu ordered.

”Yes!”

Chen Feiyang gave a wry smile, guessing that the other side was going to have a headache!

...

Just as Chen Feiyang predicted.

Upon hearing that Lu Xiaobu was going to attend, the entire official staff of the Blue Brand Award went ballistic!

”What?! ’Bright Sword’ is sending someone over? And it’s Lu Xiaobu personally?!”

”Damn it! Why? Why on earth? What’s he up to? We didn’t summon or provoke him, did we?”

”Exactly! Think hard, have you guys inadvertently offended this prodigal son?”

”No way! We’ve always kept our noses clean!”

”Hold on! I just remembered something!”

”What is it?”

”Have you forgotten? Before ’Bright Sword’ was released, our official Weibo account once scolded Lu Xiaobu!”

”Shit! What? Who the hell posted that?! Are they out of their minds?!”

”Back then, who knew Lu Xiaobu would turn the tables like this! Everyone thought Lu Xiaobu was done for, that’s why they posted it!”

”Holy shit! Lu Xiaobu must be holding a grudge against us! What do we do now?! What do we do?!”

”Got it, how about we give ’Bright Sword’ some more awards?”

”You say give more like it’s that easy! ’Bright Sword’ has already snagged the heaviest award, and for the remaining ones, the film and TV companies have already been notified! You really want to piss them off?”

”Well, you figure it out! On one side is Lu Xiaobu, and on the other, the film and TV companies! Besides, the film and TV companies have just bowed their heads to Lu Xiaobu!”

”Right! Those companies play by the rules, they won’t cause trouble. But can you say the same for Lu Xiaobu? Have you forgotten about Fang Yunlong? Have you forgotten Han Meng?! Or do you want to become the next Fang Yunlong?!”

”Damn it! Fine, I’m scared, okay?! Alright, alright, I agree, this time we’ll strictly stick to the standards! Give the awards to those who deserve them, no one is allowed to play tricks! If there is blame to be shared, we’ll share it!”

”Yeah, I guess with that, Lu Xiaobu probably won’t make too much of a fuss.”

”But there’s still one problem...”

”Speak up if you have something to say!”

”That is, if we really do follow the standards, then ’Bright Sword’ will sweep all the awards! What do we do about that?!”

”Damn it!”

”...”

And so, the entire Blue Brand Award officials became a complete mess because of the news that Lu Xiaobu was coming.

No choice, this Lu Xiaobu truly is a nightmare!

What should they do?!

Are they really going to let ”Bright Sword” sweep all the awards?!
