Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 637: Chapter 635: Forty Million per Episode [Second Update]

Next, the calls between Lu Hongbin and Lu Wenhao kept coming one after another.

”Scram! Go wherever you want!”

”Hey, you’re getting angry now! You’re threatening me?! Come on, give me your address! I’ll come and find you right now! Turning the world upside down, huh!”

”You bastard! So what if I cussed you out? You show up with that smug face wanting to discuss a contract, and then you talk to me about dignity? If you had any dignity, you wouldn’t come to me at all!”

”Let me tell you! No! Not a single contract! Not a single order! Our Lu Group would rather feed our products to pigs than give them to you!”

”Whoa, threatening me? You think our products can’t sell without you? How amazing you think you are! Do you even know what’s called ’Iron Cavalry’?!”

”...”

Lu Hongbin and Lu Wenhao were having a blast!

All the frustration they had endured was vented out!

Moreover, it was the other side who came to them asking for it, so of course, they had every reason to let loose!

Sometimes even Little Chili joined in just to spice things up!

Lu Xiaobu was happily watching them vent.

Soon, Liang Lan came over: ”Young Master, many TV stations and streaming websites are inquiring about the copyright of ’Bright Sword’.”

”En, how much?”

Lu Xiaobu nodded.

”The highest bid is thirty million per episode.”

Liang Lan announced an astronomical figure.

”Geez.” Hearing this figure, Lu Xiaobu raised an eyebrow: ”No wonder those film company folks were so harsh on me before! Look at this price, it has to be ruthless!”

”Thirty million per episode, that’s over a billion for thirty-six episodes! I remember ’A Chinese Odyssey’ wasn’t even close to this fierce back then!”

”Indeed, this is a record-breaking price,” Liang Lan giggled with a hand over her mouth: ”They are practically apologizing! They know they offended you by not giving ’Bright Sword’ a chance to air before!”

”So, this time when they made the offer, they simply went high! Whether it works out or not, they’re in big trouble if they start a feud!”

”Besides, even at thirty million per episode, they won’t lose money. With the current momentum of ’Bright Sword’, they can definitely make it back!”

”After all, the Young Master is brilliant! Shooting a TV series and selling it at a sky-high price!”

Liang Lan spoke with stars shining in her eyes.

”Smart of them,” Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin and smiled: ”In that case, Sister Lan, handle it as you see fit! Get what we should, since we’ve had some big expenses recently, raking in some money wouldn’t hurt!”

This is reality; previously everyone avoided us, now, well, they all have to come crawling back, even desperately raising the price.

Moreover, thirty million per episode is not the limit.

Do you believe me? Just a word from him, and they would be willing to sell everything they own, even if it means bankruptcy, just to buy it!

”Yes, Young Master.”

A shrewd look appeared in Liang Lan’s eyes as she turned to handle the business.

This matter didn’t need the Young Master’s personal involvement; she could manage it herself.

...

Soon, under Liang Lan’s management, even though the websites and TV stations struggled financially they persevered.

’Bright Sword’ was sold at an astronomical price!

Two streaming websites shared the online broadcasting rights, forty million per episode!

Three TV channels were granted broadcasting rights, five hundred thousand per episode!

Well, the TV stations couldn’t be overcharged too harshly.

Of course, they could also only broadcast it once, unlike the websites that could allow on-demand streaming!

When this news broke, it caused a sensation!

”Holy shit! Forty million per episode?! Thirty-six episodes total to nearly fifteen billion! And it’s not even exclusive, shared by two, plus the TV stations, that’s almost thirty billion!”

”Holy cow! Awesome! A resistance drama without fresh young actors, selling at the highest price in history, this Lu Xiaobu is really amazing!”

”No words, although it’s somewhat one-sided to judge a TV drama’s quality on price, it’s undeniable that the market can indeed reflect a lot!”

”A record breaker, truly shattered the records!”

”Seriously, have the streaming sites gone mad? Spending so much money? And not even for exclusive rights? Is it really worth it?”

”I totally agree! I feel there’s something fishy!”

...

They don’t know, right now, the two streaming services are also swallowing their teeth!

No choice, they dare not buy!

Lu Xiaobu has made a comeback on the rich list, and the people who wronged him before, considering his typical response, he is definitely going to retaliate one by one!

And among those people, they are the most helpless with the thinnest family backgrounds!

Now being able to buy peace with money, they might even thank Lu Xiaobu!

Of course, they were also willing buyers. Although the price was high, it wasn’t unacceptable.

They believe that with the current momentum, they should be able to make back the money!

The copyright issues resolved.

Lu Xiaobu received another call from Lin Feng.

Lin Feng: ”Tsk tsk tsk, I knew you could do it!”

Lu Xiaobu: ”Heh, you’re probably thinking it wouldn’t matter to you whether I succeeded or not!”

Lin Feng: ”Bullshit! If you failed, wouldn’t I have to burn paper money for you every Tomb-Sweeping Day?”

Lu Xiaobu: ”No need, I’ll burn it for you right now! A billion per piece, don’t hold back, there’s plenty!”

Lin Feng: ”Screw you! Okay, enough fooling around! I can only buy you some time over here, settle your grudges! In a bit, I’ll still have to act, after all, I need to answer to my family!”

Lu Xiaobu nodded: ”I know, anything else?”

Lin Feng: ”Also, when are you sending me the sequel to ’Bright Sword’?”

Lu Xiaobu: ”You want to watch?”

Lin Feng: ”No shit!”

Lu Xiaobu: ”Not giving it!”

After saying that, Lu Xiaobu hung up the phone.

Lin Feng was so angry he almost choked, that bastard Lu Xiaobu, keep being mean like that!

Lu Xiaobu imagined Lin Feng’s expression and snickered: ”Just a little revenge!”

This side of things wrapped up.

Next up was the celebration banquet.

This time was different from the previous ones; previously, when he was at his peak, celebrating wasn’t really necessary.

But this time, it was everyone supporting him through his toughest battle!

So, this time everyone was a hero, and a celebration was a must!

”Sister Lan, go book the gym, we’re celebrating today!” Lu Xiaobu declared grandly: ”Have all of our chefs out in full force, do it!”

”Yes, Young Master!”

Liang Lan promptly responded.

She understood, the Young Master’s gathering this time was not just about celebration, it was also a declaration of war!

A declaration of war to the film and television industry.

You’ll see, at this celebration banquet, the Young Master definitely has big plans!
