Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 630: Chapter 628: The Incompetence of One General Troubles a Thousand Men【2nd Update】

Qiu Yuelun received the order and led Lu Xiaobu and the others towards the Special Forces training base.

Along the way, Qiu Yuelun’s gaze towards Lu Xiaobu was filled with strangeness.

There was admiration, confusion, shock, and surprise.

This apparently useless rich young master had truly given him too many shocks.

He won in training!

He even subdued the instructors and Li Jin, who willingly became his lackeys!

Moreover, with a single sentence, he obtained the qualification to visit the Special Forces!

Every one of these incidents filled him with immense shock!

As the distance shortened,

Xiaobu could clearly feel Zhang Meng and Li Jin’s emotional fluctuations growing more and more intense.

Even from their eyes, one could see their attachment to the surroundings, even a sort of greed.

The kind of greed that wished to remember everything tightly.

This scene inexplicably stirred something in Xiaobu’s heart, indescribable and unclear.

Forget it, let Zhang Meng handle it later.

If he chooses to let go, then Lu Xiaobu would not pursue the matter too deeply!

However,

Just as this thought emerged in Lu Xiaobu’s mind,

The atmosphere in the entire vehicle abruptly froze.

A surge of anger erupted from Zhang Meng, Li Jin, and Qiu Yuelun’s hearts!

Because, in front of their eyes, a welcoming squad appeared!

A welcoming squad composed of Special Soldiers.

On the faces of these soldiers, each one was filled with a sense of humiliation!

Who are they?!

They are Special Soldiers who protect the nation, and now they have set aside their training plans to welcome some director at the gate!

Damn!

Each of them was roaring inside!

This was an insult to their profession, an insult to them as individuals!

Zhang Meng and Li Jin felt it even more acutely!

”Absolutely ridiculous!”

Veins popped out on Zhang Meng’s hands!

He used to be an instructor here; the men here were all trained by him.

Yet now they’ve been turned into cheerleaders, greeters?!

”Young Master, I want to...”

Zhang Meng gritted his teeth as he spoke.

”No need to say more, go ahead, do as you please, I’ll shoulder all the consequences.”

Lu Xiaobu cut Zhang Meng off with a sweep of his hand.

”Thank you, Young Master!”

Gratitude filled Zhang Meng’s heart.

Only the Young Master could say something like this; otherwise, no one else would dare to.

After all, this is no ordinary place, who would dare make such a statement?

Even Qiu Yuelun felt a different kind of sentiment in his heart.

It seemed that their Young Master, the instructors’ Young Master, was truly different!

...

As the vehicle approached.

Before they even got out, a ’passionate’ welcome resounded.

”Welcome, welcome, a warm welcome!”

The voices were loud, but they sounded so stifled!

What was that like?

To use a somewhat inappropriate comparison.

It felt like you’re gaming, joining a group, and you’re about to face the final wave!

But then, your relatives ask you to put down your phone to talk about things you’re not interested in, even things you’re tired of.

That feeling, I think everyone can understand!

A suffocating feeling!

Zhang Meng took two steps forward, looking at these familiar faces, his heart filled with mixed feelings, which finally condensed into one sentence: ”I, am back.”

Originally, those Special Soldiers didn’t even want to raise their heads.

But when they suddenly heard Zhang Meng’s voice, everyone shuddered, disbelief in their eyes as they stared at Zhang Meng’s face.

”Instructor!?”

The soldiers couldn’t believe what they were seeing and rubbed their eyes.

Soon after,

this group of soldiers rushed towards Zhang Meng like bees swarming out of a broken pot.

Then, they all hit the brakes hard.

Each stood in place, and with a snap, a uniform military salute.

At this moment, the frustration that had been on their faces was swept away.

One by one, they held their heads high, all wearing an extremely proud expression.

The Instructor has returned, he really has come back!

”Hmm!”

Zhang Meng’s gaze swept across each of their faces.

”Instructor, this time, are you going to leave again?”

A young soldier just couldn’t hold back and asked aloud.

A look of infinite anticipation in his eyes.

”I’ve just come back to have a look,” Zhang Meng sighed and said.

To say he didn’t want to come back would be a lie, but compared to staying by the Young Master’s side, he chose to stay with the Young Master.

”Ah?” Hearing Zhang Meng’s words, these young soldiers suddenly showed an infinite sense of loss: ”It’s over!”

”What’s wrong?”

Zhang Meng couldn’t help but ask.

”Instructor, you don’t know, since you left, our lives have completely changed, idling away each day, not knowing what to do anymore.”

”Yeah, we were sure to win the Special Forces competition, but we lost.”

”Now, we’re practically the laughingstock of the whole military district, being called the Young Master’s Soldiers, I almost wanted to quit the service.”

”Exactly, higher-ups don’t consider us for tasks anymore, we’ve forgotten how long it’s been since we’ve received any tasks.”

”And now, even this time, when we heard a director was coming to visit, they just sent us out! They said something about us being just right, as the director is only looking at the surface anyway! Isn’t that infuriating?”

”...”

The soldiers kept pouring out their grievances.

”Where’s the current Instructor?”

Zhang Meng frowned, what was all this about?

Even if that Instructor was incompetent, as long as he continued the training regimen left by him, there was no way they could be reduced to being seen as nothing but showy.

”Him? Don’t even mention it. Not only does he not arrange training, he can’t be bothered to watch us train, and he even makes sarcastic comments, saying it’s worthless!”

”Right, there was one time the higher-ups assigned us a task, everyone wanted it, but he just pushed it away, saying he was too lazy to lift a finger! Whoever wants to go can go! What’s that all about?”

”He came here to gold-plate his resume, we acknowledged that, but not only does he not help, he’s actively dragging us down, what’s going on?”

”...”

The soldiers’ hearts were truly overwhelmed with injustice!

As soon as Zhang Meng heard this, a fire lit up inside him!

Not training is one thing, but to mock and push away tasks from superiors!

To hell with this!

”Let’s go! Take me to him! I want to see what explanation he has for me!”

Zhang Meng was truly unforgivable.

This was the military he had built, and now seeing them wronged like this, how could he endure it?

Not just him, Li Jin and Qiu Yuelun were equally furious!

Zhang Meng didn’t need anyone to guide him; he could find the place with his eyes closed, and he charged over, full of murderous intent!

Li Jin and Qiu Yuelun followed behind him.

Behind them were the Special Soldiers who had found their backbone.

Following them were Lu Xiaobu and his group.

He had said it, this time Zhang Meng is the main character, everything will go according to what Zhang Meng wants.

Even if Zhang Meng tore the sky apart, it was not his job to patch it up!
