Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 614: Chapter 612: Scapegoat [Third Update]

Don’t underestimate the power of netizens.

As long as they want to, they can dig up your ancestors 18 generations back!

So, that guy who defiled our revolutionary forebears was human flesh searched out just three hours later!

All of this, no one arranged, no one pushed!

It was all spontaneous acts by angry netizens!

Of course, I’m not advocating for this kind of online violence, it’s bad, and that needs to be clear!

But, if you’ve done something wrong, you must face the consequences!

It’s not that you can do whatever you want just because you have the internet!

Although this method is wrong, what other options do netizens have?!

Then, this guy’s name, address, and phone number were posted on major websites!

Name: Wu Mei, Age: 18, Phone number: 13********72, a notorious Japanophile.

She had made similar remarks on major websites, even joking about historical events!

Talking about how fast the ’little devils’’s knives are!

This made netizens even angrier!

So, an angered netizen got through to Wu Mei’s phone!

”Fuck you! Why don’t you go be a little devil yourself?!”

The first time Wu Mei answered the phone, she was quite articulate: ”It’s my bad luck, if I were lucky, I would be like in Japan! And who the hell are you to point fingers at me?! What the hell are you!”

Hearing this, damn it, even I am pissed!

Later, Wu Mei hung up the phone and didn’t take it seriously.

Even bragging in their Japanophile social circle: ”Some idiot got my number today and was pointing fingers at me with a stern face! What the hell!”

However, no sooner had she posted this!

Her phone rang again!

”Your motherfucker! You Japan-loving dog!”

Upon hearing this, Wu Mei became even angrier: ”Fuck your mother! Who the fuck are you to talk about me?! Japanese people are nobler than you dogs!”

After saying that, she hung up again!

But this time, her phone kept ringing insanely!

She wasn’t afraid, she was ready to curse at anyone who called!

But as time passed, as more netizens posted her words online, they became even more furious!

All her social media accounts were besieged by angry netizens!

Moreover, every comment was uniformly followed by the phrase — Cavalry, charge!

Wu Mei’s phone was of particular interest!

Calling her! Day and night!

No more phone credit? Plenty of people topped it up for her!

Now, Wu Mei was scared!

Really scared!

From initially cursing back, to later not answering, to eventually turning off her phone!

She even trembled with fear at the sound of a phone ringing!

Later on, Wu Mei even saw someone else answering a phone, she would frantically grab and smash the phone: ”No! No! Don’t answer the phone!”

In the end, she pulled all the curtains closed and shivered under the quilt!

But even so, netizens still didn’t let her off!

Her door was plastered with sticky notes, people came knocking every day!

Endless fear and anxiety engulfed her!

...

The next day.

Her parents posted a message.

”Using this cyber violence to bully a child, don’t you think this is too much?! Now she’s almost getting a neural disorder, are you satisfied!?”

The post expressed all their grievances and bitterness!

Constantly accusing the netizens!

When this post came out, the angry netizens became even angrier!

”Really, what parents raise what kind of child! Did something wrong, not even a word of apology, instead blaming us!”

”Really shameless!”

”Come on! Keep it going! I refuse to believe there’s no reasoning in this matter!”

”That’s right! Bring it on!”

”...”

Seeing these comments, a big shot in the film company was bewildered.

It’s the film company that produced ”Youth Never Falls Behind” — Jinze Film and Television.

The boss — Ma Jinze!

He doesn’t have the sentimentality that Chang Yong’an does!

In his eyes, this was a perfect opportunity to crush Lu Xiaobu!

So, he directly ordered his subordinates to act!

And then!

Some people stood up and began to support Wu Mei’s parents!

”So you think you have the right?! To bully a girl so badly, you are essentially killers!”

”Exactly, what right do you have to be slandering people here?!”

”You’re nothing but a bunch of thugs!”

”A bunch of murderers!”

”No need to say more, this must be Lu Xiaobu pulling strings behind the scenes!”

”That’s right! Lu Xiaobu just wants to use this incident to promote his TV series! Trash!”

”...”

Suddenly, an online war of words erupted!

It was chaotic!

Later, Wu Mei’s parents posted a video of Wu Mei nearly breaking down online!

And they publicly accused Lu Xiaobu, saying it was all his behind-the-scenes manipulation!

Instantly, the situation blew up even more!

Everyone turned their accusations towards Lu Xiaobu!

”This thing is definitely orchestrated by Lu Xiaobu behind the scenes!”

”That’s right, we knew before that Lu Xiaobu has a bunch of internet trolls, unbeatable in battle! Really impressive! To bully a young girl like this!”

”Typical Lu Xiaobu! He should’ve been investigated long ago!”

”...”

Under Ma Jinze’s deliberate guidance, the topic was completely redirected towards Lu Xiaobu.

Even many of Wu Mei’s previous pro-Japan posts were deleted!

Creating an impression that Wu Mei was just being outspoken on a whim, but then Lu Xiaobu took advantage, unleashing cyber violence on her!

Many netizens who realized the truth later were misled, and they joined in condemning Lu Xiaobu!

Of course, those who knew the real situation tried hard to clarify for Lu Xiaobu.

But, it was useless!

No one listened to them!

There’s a saying, a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth!

Eventually, even some netizens began to doubt, wondering if all this was manipulated by Lu Xiaobu in the background!

Was it Lu Xiaobu who released those initial messages about Wu Mei!

Lu Xiaobu ended up shouldering a huge blame!

And he couldn’t shake it off!

...

Seeing this unfold, Ma Jinze laughed out loud: ”Lu Xiaobu, oh Lu Xiaobu, you’ve really shot yourself in the foot this time! Look who’s dumbstruck now! Who’s arrogant now?! Compete with me! Come on, compete!”

...

At the Lu family’s residence.

Liang Lan and others were furious!

”What’s going on? It must be someone from that film company messing things up!” Liang Lan said angrily, ”I am going to have someone clarify this!”

”That’s right, I’m going there!” Little Chili was also furious, ”We’re not taking this blame!”

Wu Qianmin was seething with anger, ”Should we unleash our own internet trolls?!”

Zhang Meng narrowed his eyes, ”Young Master, give the order.”

However, Lu Xiaobu did something that everyone found incomprehensible.
