Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 618: Chapter 616 Siege [Second Update]

Li Yunlong carried the wounded Zhao Gang and walked out.

Zhao Gang insisted that Li Yunlong put him down and give him a hand grenade!

Afterwards, they stopped in their tracks because the Zhao family village they just emerged from had become a sea of fire!

Until this moment, the audience actually did not know exactly how much was lost.

Later, the scene switched to Chu Yunfei’s perspective.

Through Chu Yunfei’s eyes, they learned precisely how many had perished!

The Independent Group’s headquarters combined with the guard platoon, eighty-four were killed in action, leaving only eight survivors, among them Zhao Gang, who was severely injured!

This number, though tragic, seemed somehow comprehensible!

But!

What came next!

”Over three hundred villagers of Zhao family village, none spared, all casualties!”

These words were spoken by Chu Yunfei’s men.

In an instant!

Everyone exploded!

Over three hundred people, over three hundred people!

They were not soldiers; they were unarmed villagers!

And among them were many, many children!

All gone!

Chu Yunfei shouted what all the audience wanted to shout: ”Attack! Hit them for me! I want to see if these Japanese pigs know pain!”

The audience exploded!

”Well done! Kill them! Chu Yunfei! Kill these Japanese pigs!”

”A bunch of inhumane beasts! Kill them for revenge!”

”Charge!”

”And that Zhu Ziming must die too!”

”That’s right! Kill them all!”

”...”

One by one, they sat in front of the television, screaming, even wishing they could rush into the TV and take revenge themselves!

This was when they truly understood the cruelty of the initial war against Japan, the difficulty of that resistance!

They had been fooled by previous war-themed TV dramas, thinking the Japanese were easy to defeat.

However, Lu Xiaobu’s ”Bright Sword” told them, the Japanese were never made of clay!

Otherwise, the war would not have lasted for eight long years!

Everyone’s gaze was fixed firmly on the television.

They hoped Chu Yunfei would take down Yamamoto and avenge the villagers!

”Chu Yunfei is at a disadvantage too!”

”Yes, this Yamamoto is quite capable, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to injure Li Yunlong so badly!”

”The enemy is trying to launch a surprise attack, does Chu Yunfei have a plan?!”

”Good work! Grenade them!”

”Well done!”

”Who knows why the delay of three seconds??”

”Because the explosion time of a grenade is between five to eight seconds, if you don’t delay, it’s possible that the Japanese soldiers could throw it back, so by delaying, it becomes more lethal!”

”Thanks for the explanation!”

”Zhu Ziming is dead, good, haha! A small measure of revenge!”

”Death to the traitorous dog!”

”Not good, this Yamamoto is playing tricks!”

”He’s trying to escape!”

”Chu Yunfei hasn’t noticed!”

”Damn it! Pity! Yamamoto has escaped! Curse his ancestors!”

”Lu Xiaobu, why didn’t you let Chu Yunfei kill him!?”

”...”

Seeing Yamamoto escape, the audience was pounding their chests and stamping their feet in anger!

Such a pity!

However, Zhu Ziming’s death somehow quelled everyone’s anger a bit!

Soon, the camera cut to another scene.

A furious Li Yunlong appeared on screen.

From his enraged expression, they saw pain, they saw discomfort!

This time, Li Yunlong was definitely going to explode with fury!

The headquarters were attacked, Zhao’s Valley was wiped out, Zhao Gang was shot, Xiu Xin was kidnapped!

Honestly, if it were anyone else but Li Yunlong.

Who knows if they could have endured it!

And from Li Yunlong’s own mouth, they heard his decision—to attack the county city!

”Damn, attack the county city? Can they really do it?!”

”I reckon it’s gonna be tough! It’s not that easy!”

”Not easy? Is it very hard? I remember in old TV dramas, taking a county city was as easy as playing around!”

”Have you still not realized the difference between Bright Sword and those old godlike anti-Japanese dramas?!”

”Yeah! Bright Sword may also have lots of entertainment value, but it’s so much more realistic than those so-called godlike anti-Japanese dramas! Attacking the county city is equivalent to besieging it! According to ancient terms, without at least three times the military strength, you can’t attack! And during the anti-Japanese war with all the modern weaponry, besieging was even harder! I guess if you don’t have five to six times the troops, it would be really difficult to take it!”

”Oh, so it’s that difficult! Sorry, my mistake, I thought it was like those old TV shows where one person could breach the gates with just an explosive pack!”

”Just listen to yourself, it shows how many people were misled by those anti-Japanese godlike dramas! They actually thought fighting a war was such a simple thing! Lu Xiaobu did a great deed by making Bright Sword!”

”So if it’s that difficult, can Li Yunlong win?”

”It depends. Didn’t Li Yunlong send his troops out to expand? Let’s see how that worked out!”

”Damn! Italian cannons?! Type 92 heavy machine guns?! They’ve all struck it rich!”

”Yes, did you guys hear? Zhang Dabiao said that including the local militia, they have over ten thousand men!”

”Now they can fight!”

”Damn it all! Revenge! Rescue Xiu Xin! Avenge Zhao’s Valley!”

”Charge!”

”...”

Seeing how the Independent Group had grown so formidable, the audience suddenly gained confidence.

There was now hope for revenge!

Their desire for vengeance was burning fiercely in their hearts!

However!

Yeah, this episode ended!

So!

Everyone exploded with frustration!

”Ah! Lu Xiaobu! You’ve gone too far! Ending it here?! You’re killing us!”

”I can’t take it anymore!”

”Young Master Bu, please, have mercy, can we have one more episode?”

”Yes! Yes! How about one more episode?”

”To cut us off at such a critical moment is too much!”

”My roommate is about to kick the bucket, and before dying, he wants to see Li Yunlong attack Ping’an County, is that alright?!”

”That’s a coincidence, my roommate’s also on the brink! His last wish is the same!”

”...”

Yeah, on this day, thousands of roommates were ’dying’!

Later, because of this, a voting thread was initiated online!

Demanding earnestly that Lu Xiaobu release another episode!

Feeling so close to revenge but being cut off was truly unbearable!

The furious audience wanted to curse out loud!

I guess, you can probably empathize with this feeling, since after all, certain ’cliffhanger dogs’ often do such things, cough cough cough!

Even some wealthy viewers directly said, ”Lu Xiaobu, name your price! How much do you want?! A hundred thousand! Two hundred thousand! Or five hundred thousand! I just want to watch the next episode! Will you do it?!”

However, before Lu Xiaobu could even respond, other viewers retorted: ”Are you out of your mind? Does Lu Xiaobu need your money?! He probably spends more than that on a meal!”

However, their so-called voting obviously could not sway Lu Xiaobu’s decision!

They didn’t even know that even Lin Feng, who called to ask for a preview, was rejected by Lu Xiaobu, enraging Lin Feng to the point of smashing his phone!

Everyone wanted to know how exactly Li Yunlong would take his revenge and if Xiu Xin could be rescued!
