Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 292: Chapter 291: The Blindly Hopping Health Supplements Went Crazy [Third update, 21,000 recommendation votes for more]

After two days.

The advertisement bombardment continued, and as the Chinese New Year approached, people started preparing for the New Year celebrations, collecting their bonuses, and buying New Year goods.

Except for the Brain Black Gold Company.

They had completely given up hope for this year’s bonus.

They were even ready to resign!

Wu Yuanren was still getting dead drunk at the company every day.

Today, as he tipped the bottle and found no liquor left, he staggered to his feet.

”Dad, what’s wrong?”

Wu Qianmin hurried to support him.

”Going downstairs to buy some.”

Wu Yuanren slurred his words.

”Dad, stop drinking. If you keep this up, you’ll really damage your health,” Wu Qianmin couldn’t help but urge.

”If the sales go up, I’ll stop drinking,”

Wu Yuanren declared stubbornly.

”Alright, alright.”

Wu Qianmin, feeling helpless, could only support her dad as they headed downstairs.

Silently she harbored a hope, Xiaobu oh Xiaobu, if it’s truly possible, work your magic quickly.

There was a large supermarket not far from the company.

Wu Yuanren, who knew the way all too well, walked to the liquor section to pick out some bottles.

After buying the liquor, he thought for a moment and still went to check on their own product shelves out of habit.

Even though it was painful, he still wanted to take a glance.

He expected it to be the same as before, with no one showing any interest.

However...

He saw a group of young people, seven or eight in total, standing there, flipping through products.

”This is that Brain Black Gold from the ads, right? The packaging is pretty good.”

”I’ve seen the ad too. It’s all over the internet, quite popular. I’ll buy two boxes to give to my parents.”

”Is it effective?”

”It should be. I read an article online saying there’s something very important in the brain that needs to be replenished, related to aging, memory, and stuff.”

”Well, then I’ll also take two boxes.”

”Why is it so expensive?”

”Quality goods are naturally expensive, it’s only once a year after all, I’ll buy it.”

”Forget it, I’ll bite the bullet and buy it. You’re right, we only celebrate New Year once a year, it doesn’t hurt to spend more on gifts for the elders.”

”I find myself being silly too; every time I see health supplements, every time I see Brain Black Gold, I can’t help but think of that old man and old lady hopping around like crazy! I feel possessed! I’ll buy two boxes!”

”Right, to avoid the hassle!”

After the group left, the shelf suddenly had over a dozen boxes of Brain Black Gold missing.

Not far off, other people were also asking supermarket staff for help.

”Sister, do you have Brain Black Gold? It’s that health supplement with the old man and lady jumping around like crazy!”

”Yes, the jumping ones are over there.”

”Thank you.”

”That crazy jumping Brain Black Gold is selling fast. It’s almost sold out this afternoon. If you want to buy, do it quick. They’ll probably be out of stock by tonight. It’s great for the New Year’s gift for elders, it’s a presentable product with health benefits.”

”Alright then, I’ll quickly grab a few boxes!”

”Do I get a discount if I buy several boxes? My mom heard the neighbors mentioning it and also saw some articles online. She specified that this year for the New Year, she doesn’t want anything else but this Brain Black Gold.”

”Yo, there’s no discount for that at the moment.”

”Well, even without the discount, I still have to buy it. Sigh, when the elderly speak.”

”...”

”Holy shit!”

Wu Yuanren suddenly shook his bewildered head, passed the bottle of liquor to Wu Qianmin, and dashed to the restroom. He doused his head with cold water for a long while, forcing himself to calm down.

Then, taking deep breaths, and with immense trepidation, he returned to the side of the shelf, closed his eyes tight, and then barely opened a crack, stealing a glance.

And then!

”Good heavens! Hahaha!”

Wu Yuanren jumped and bounced around like a child!

What he just saw turned out to be true!

There were only a dozen or so boxes of Brain Black Gold left on the shelf, with the remaining ninety percent conspicuously emptied, clearly all purchased.

When had his Brain Black Gold ever seen such a turn of events!?

Only a dozen or so left?

In the past, they were lucky to sell just a dozen or so boxes!

Wu Qianmin, holding a liquor bottle at the side, wore a stunned expression as well.

Is it really this crazy?

A shelf of goods, swept clean in such a short time?!

In the past few days, worrying about her dad, Qianmin also took the initiative to learn some knowledge about the health product market.

Not knowing until learning!

Only after learning did she realize how tough it really is for her dad!

The competition in the health product industry is very fierce, especially during holidays and festivals.

What do people usually look at for health products?

Firstly, of course, it’s effectiveness.

But since they’ve been approved, they must be effective.

Moreover, since people don’t buy and eat these things often, and since it’s not affordable for ordinary people to consume daily, naturally they’re not familiar with the effectiveness either.

So what do they base their choice on?

It’s advertisement!

This is also why her dad placed so much importance on that 15-second advertisement before, even going so far as to swallow his pride and have her reach out to Lu Xiaobu to pull some strings.

This is also why her dad was so desperate after seeing Xiaobu’s ridiculous advertisement!

At this moment.

Qianmin didn’t notice, nor did the bouncing Wu Yuanren.

”Bang!”

”Crash!”

The bottle of wine in Wu Qianmin’s hand was slapped away by Wu Yuanren!

It shattered on the ground, instantly perfuming the area with the aroma of wine.

”Oops!”

Wu Qianmin cried out in surprise immediately.

A staff member came over, frowning and asking, ”What happened?”

”I’m sorry, we’ll compensate, we’ll compensate,” Wu Qianmin hurriedly apologized, then took out the compensation money.

The staff member didn’t say much, as their attitude was good, they had nothing else to say.

However...

Wu Yuanren’s eyes shifted, then he suddenly said, ”Hey, Qianmin, go find me a mop, I need to clean this up.”

”Huh?!”

Wu Qianmin and the staff member were both startled.

What is this madness?!

”Hurry up, go!”

Wu Yuanren urged.

Helpless, Wu Qianmin had no choice but to ask the staff member for a mop and handed it to Wu Yuanren.

Then...

She discovered that her usually meticulous father was actually slacking off.

He said he was going to clean, but didn’t move an inch for a long time.

Instead, his gaze was fixed on the Brain Black Gold shelf, watching box after box of Brain Black Gold being sold, humming with joy.

Even some customers who didn’t understand came to buy it.

He ran over even more eagerly than the salespeople, enthusiastically explaining the product to them!

The old professional even managed to perform a little elderly dance and sing a couple of lines from the advertisement jingle!

Boy oh boy, this scared the big store’s staff senseless!

In the end, there was no choice but to ask them to leave the store.

Even so, Wu Yuanren’s face still held an unstoppable smile!

He’s turned things around!

He really has turned things around!

He really did turn things around with a ludicrous advertisement!

...

It wasn’t just one big sale store like this.

Other supermarkets, other Brain Black Gold specialty stores, online stores, in various places of each province and autonomous region, the same amazing scene was playing out!

”It’s sold out?”

”I just saw the advertisement and came, how is it gone already?”

”I was thinking of buying some to give to my family as gifts.”

”Please wait a moment, everyone. We’re currently short on Brain Black Gold stock and are in touch with suppliers already. The goods will arrive very soon; please wait another ten minutes!”

...

Now, everyone was shocked, panicked, and terrified!

Has Brain Black Gold really turned things around?!

Just because of that ludicrous advertisement?!
