Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 288: Chapter 287: Do As One Pleases [4th Update, Bonus Chapter for 1.9 Recommendation Votes]

Making their way straight to Wu Yuanren’s Brain Black Gold Company.

With Wu Qianmin, the chairman’s daughter leading the way, Lu Xiaobu was able to reach the meeting room without any hindrance.

Wu Yuanren was in the midst of a board meeting, discussing who to invite as a celebrity endorser.

But they hadn’t reached a conclusion.

Because health products are so ambiguous, the health product industry has always been the hardest for acquiring celebrity endorsements.

Even if they managed to get one, the endorsement fees were astronomical.

That’s why Wu Yuanren had to swallow his pride and ask for help from Lu Xiaobu, who had a certain status in the entertainment industry.

Yet, after swallowing his pride, he found himself faced with a situation caused by his own family that left him with a red face, utterly embarrassed.

And the current atmosphere was even more infuriating.

The shareholders had their own differing opinions, sure, but now there were even shareholders talking about selling their stocks to cash out.

This made Wu Yuanren’s brain hurt from anger!

Though the company wasn’t doing well, things shouldn’t have been this bad!

At this moment, Lu Xiaobu and Wu Qianmin entered.

Wu Yuanren, who had been dealing with a headache, suddenly brightened up.

Could it be that his daughter and Lu Xiaobu had come to an understanding?

Indeed, a dutiful daughter.

The company was saved!

”Uncle Wu, are you in a meeting? Should I come back later?”

Lu Xiaobu said.

”No need, no need, it’s all related. Let’s discuss it together.”

Wu Yuanren waved his hand and had his secretary add a seat for Lu Xiaobu right beside him.

Then he introduced Lu Xiaobu to everyone: ”This is Lu Xiaobu, you all must have heard his name.”

The directors were puzzled at first as to why this young man was receiving such a welcome from Wu Yuanren.

But as soon as they heard the name Lu Xiaobu, they all burst into brilliant smiles.

”Ah, Young Master Bu! It’s better to see once than to hear a hundred times!”

”Indeed, he has such an imposing presence, a true talent!”

”Young Master Bu, do you have any good projects lately? Take us along to make a fortune!”

”...”

Such was the prestige of Lu Xiaobu in the business world!

”Alright, enough chatter, I invited Xiaobu over to help us make connections and find a top-tier star for our endorsement, to bring our company back to life,” Wu Yuanren interjected, speaking with a hint of pride.

You all wanted to sell your shares? Not so tempted now, huh!

See how strong my connections are?!

What?

Wu Qianmin brought him here?!

But that’s my daughter!

The shareholders’ eyes sparkled upon hearing this.

”With Young Master Bu here, it’s all good!”

”Yes, Young Master Bu knows so many people, he’ll definitely help our company overcome this difficulty!”

”As long as the advertisement is executed well, we can turn the tables beautifully!”

”...”

Listening to their words, Wu Yuanren was beaming with pride, and then eagerly turned to Lu Xiaobu and said, ”Xiaobu, which celebrity are you thinking of for our endorsement?!”

”Endorsement? When did I say I was going to help you find someone for an endorsement?”

Lu Xiaobu, however, was taken aback and spoke up.

”Ah!?”

Wu Yuanren was dumbstruck!

He felt as if he had been slapped hard across the face!

He had just confidently stated that Lu Xiaobu was there to help make connections for them, and now Lu Xiaobu himself had directly contradicted him!

He saw the bewildered looks of the shareholders and was engulfed in embarrassment, his face clearly unhappy.

”Then what are you here for?”

Wu Yuanren’s words carried a hint of anger.

”I, I came to provide an advertising strategy,” Lu Xiaobu shrugged and stated the situation.

”Advertising strategy?!”

Wu Yuanren’s face twitched, the anger growing more evident.

He felt like Lu Xiaobu was there just to mock him!

An advertising strategy?!

Did they lack advertising strategies?!

They’re going to celebrities, you know!?

Now you come over, not to help us invite celebrities, but actually to pitch us your advertising plans?!

Isn’t this just toying with us, then what is it?

The other shareholders also looked puzzled.

”What do you mean? Weren’t you here to help us make connections?”

”Advertising plans? Does our company not even have the money to afford that now?!”

”Yeah, no matter how poor we are, we wouldn’t resort to having a profligate heir plan our campaign! Sorry, I mean no offense, I respect Young Master Bu’s status, but I am referring to his academic prowess.”

”Looks like we should prepare to sell some shares!”

”...”

Wu Yuanren listened to these idiots’ words, grinding his teeth in anger!

So!

His expression turned cold: ”Qianmin, take Xiaobu out for some fun. We still have matters to discuss!”

He had completely given up hope on Lu Xiaobu!

Or rather, if it wasn’t for his remaining rationality, he would have driven this troublemaking Lu Xiaobu out long ago!

I was counting on you to defuse the situation, and look at you now, kicking me further down into the abyss?!

How could someone as proud as him tolerate such mockery!?

”Go out? I’m not leaving.”

Lu Xiaobu sat down on the chair the secretary had prepared for him and declared, ”Today’s advertising plan, whether you want it or not, you’re getting it!”

His statement was full of dominance!

Yes, the world must experience that enchanting advertisement!

Wu Qianmin stood aside with a face full of despair.

It’s over!

They didn’t know, but she did.

Xiaobu was now thoroughly entertaining himself, unstoppable by anyone!

Or rather, he had started doing whatever pleased him once again!

”Hu...”

Wu Yuanren finally exploded in anger, just about to scold him, but after a thought, he harshly swallowed his anger.

After all, whether from a personal or a qualification standpoint, things were no longer the same.

He could no longer scold Lu Xiaobu like before.

So, he took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and said, ”Fine, Lu Xiaobu, go ahead and share your advertising plan. Let’s discuss it together.”

This was already a step back for him.

”Sure.”

Lu Xiaobu was suddenly all excited: ”Actually, it’s quite simple. Just hire a graphic designer to create two animated characters, an old man and an old woman, and have them start dancing. Meanwhile, the lines go like this: ’Don’t want any New Year gifts! No gifts! If giving gifts, just give Brain Black Gold!’”

He described it with such flamboyant enthusiasm, even singing it out.

Those present, however, were twitching at the corners of their mouth, almost wishing for death!

This is called advertising planning?!

It’s like child’s play!

No celebrities, and not even a real person?

Using two animated characters with a silly dance and a couple of silly lines, and you call this an advertisement?!

You’re investing heavily to advertise on Imperial television station and you give us this kind of plan?!

To be honest—It’s idiotic! An idiotic ad!

Let alone them, even Wu Qianmin herself twitched at the corner of her mouth.

Xiaobu, Xiaobu, although I know you’re extraordinary, often with unexpectedly genius plans.

But to be honest, this is genuinely idiotic!

Wu Yuanren was so angry he squeezed his cup, wanting to smash it!

He was certain, Lu Xiaobu came just to mock him!

You say you don’t help with networking, fine, I can live with that, after all, you’re not obliged to help me.

You say you want to provide an advertising plan, and we can’t even refuse it!

Fine, I restrain myself again, after all, just hearing it out won’t hurt!

But!

What the hell is this idiotic ad you’ve come up with now?!

If this isn’t making fun of me, who would believe it!

Lu Xiaobu looked at the distrustful gazes around him and scoffed.

What’s wrong with an idiotic ad?

This idiotic ad once defined an era!

As I’ve said before, Young Master just wants to see this era dominated by it.

Whether you deal with it or not, you have to, no negotiation!
