I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

After exiting through the exclusive passage from the VIP area, Loren lightly vaulted over the dividing barrier, landing in the common passenger passageway.

Under the odd gazes of others, Loren calmly followed the bustling crowd forward.

After walking out of the starship terminal, he nonchalantly got into an ordinary hovercar waiting for passengers.

”To the Interstellar Hunter Association.”

Among those who had come out of the VIP passage, Loren was the only one who walked out to the common area to hail a cab.

Those luxury hovercars parked outside the VIP passage... just thinking about them felt expensive, Loren silently mused.

Although he had just ”earned” over two thousand Spirit Stones from gambling, the raven’s appetite was truly too large...

Save where you should, spend where you must...

Raising a psychic lifeform with such a strong digestive capacity is difficult...

”Future ’Jadeite Star Domain Gambling King Sir,’ as my master, are you complaining in your heart about my digestive capacity?”A dissatisfied voice from the raven echoed in Loren’s mind.

Because having a raven perched on his shoulder was too conspicuous, Loren had drawn the raven into his body when entering the starship terminal on the resource planet.

Along the way, the raven hadn’t spoken much. Perhaps seeing Loren thoroughly enjoying his gambling, it had unusually remained quiet.

But such quiet could only last until now.

Now was free time; it could speak its mind freely again.

”...How did you know?” Loren replied to it with his thoughts in his mind.

”I know now!!!” The raven’s voice in his mind was a bit loud, almost a roar.

”You tricked me?”

Isn’t your intelligence level a bit too high? Loren silently complained.

”I once thought we were the closest partners. I never imagined you would actually find me troublesome...”

The raven’s voice carried a hint of grievance.

”Stop! I like you. But for now, please stay quiet. I want to nap a bit. You keep watch.”

After perfunctorily replying to the other in his mind, Loren silently closed his eyes and began to rest.

”Oh, dear but not at all adorable master.”

The corner of Loren’s eye twitched very subtly. Just like raising a child... troublesome...

Accompanied by the scenery whizzing past the car window, Loren slipped into a light sleep.

Interstellar travel is a very tiring affair.

Even sitting on the highest-class passenger starship, the continuous jumps of the starship still quietly drained some mental and physical energy from the passengers inside.

Jumping is a rather miraculous thing in itself; it involves folding space.

In the jump channels, those ever-present dark matter collects a little ”toll” from passing lifeforms.

This peculiar phenomenon cannot be explained by science.

Even the Federation Science Department can only roughly describe it as ”dark matter might be alive”...

And just as Loren fell into light sleep in the car...

Outside the VIP passage of the starship terminal.

A masked man in a gray trench coat was staring, one by one, at the people coming out of the VIP passage.

While scanning the crowd emerging from the VIP passage, he was also muttering to himself:

”Where is that guy, Las Loren? Could it be the passenger starship hasn’t arrived yet?”

This assassin secretly cultivated by the Marquis, after learning about Loren’s passenger starship information, had taken the fastest passenger starship from the main city of the Dusk Star Domain and also headed to the Jadeite Star Domain.

Based on his experience, leaving from the main city of the Dusk Star Domain, he could arrive at the Jadeite Star Domain 20 minutes earlier than Loren, who departed from Resource Planet 17.

In his plan, arriving 20 minutes earlier, he would spot Loren’s weary figure outside this terminal and quietly follow behind Loren in the shadows.

When Loren reached a less conspicuous place, he would boldly strike and eliminate Loren.

Afterwards, he would elegantly return to the Dusk Star Domain to receive the praise and generous rewards from His Lordship the Marquis.

However, the current situation made him feel something was off.

He had waited for almost 40 minutes, yet he still hadn’t spotted Loren’s figure.

This made him somewhat uneasy and agitated.

”This is a task personally issued by His Lordship the Marquis. I can’t have messed it up...”

Unwilling to give up, he continued waiting outside the terminal for another hour.

Finally, somewhat despairingly, he pulled out a portable computer from his chest.

On the portable computer’s screen, he typed a message:

”Target figure not sighted. Request confirmation of intel authenticity.”

One minute later.

His portable computer displayed a message that made him even more despairing:

”Intel confirmed. Target confirmed to have boarded that starship without error. Latest intel: target also won over two thousand Spirit Stones on that starship.”

He stared blankly at the screen of the portable computer in his hand, muttering in disbelief:

”Then where is he?!! Where is he?!”

Two minutes later, perhaps seeing he hadn’t replied for too long.

The screen of the portable computer in his hand lit up again.

”Waste! You have betrayed His Lordship’s trust!”

This message finally shattered his psyche.

His fingers clenched tightly around the portable computer in his hand, trembling slightly.

Damn it! I am a seventh-tier Martial Artist!! I also dual-cultivate the assassin legacy from the Land of the Gods!!!

I am not a waste!

I will definitely find and kill that cunning Las Loren!!!

Just wait!!!

Soon.

Having undergone professional training, he very quickly regained his composure.

He roared viciously in his heart:

I will not betray the nurturing grace of His Lordship the Marquis!!

If I can’t find that damned Las Loren!! I won’t return to the Dusk Star Domain!!!

He re-lit the screen of the portable computer and typed a message swiftly and firmly with his fingers:

”I! Luca Brown!! Am not a waste. I am a great assassin!”

After typing, he didn’t wait for a response from the other party and silently crushed the portable computer in his hand.

The physique of a seventh-tier Martial Artist allowed him to accomplish this with ease.

”Hah! No matter what method you used to evade my pursuit! You’ve made a huge enemy, Las Loren.”

After a cold laugh, his body slowly faded into the shadows outside the starship terminal and disappeared.

........

Meanwhile, Loren had just woken up from his sleep.

After a period of sleep, his mind was no longer so weary and had returned to normal.

Loren was gently awakened by the hovercar driver:

”Sir, we’ve arrived at the Interstellar Hunter Association. That’s 300 Federation coins.”

Loren silently pulled out a Spirit Stone from his chest and handed it over.

”Can you give change, Mr. Driver?”

Aside from that one coin used for ”Fortune Divination,” Loren had no Federation coins on him.

His person always carried only Spirit Stones; they were hard currency with no risk of inflation.

”Whoa, so you’re a Superhuman, sir!”

The hovercar driver exclaimed softly, silently accepting the Spirit Stone.
