I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

The answers in this post were bizarre and wildly inconsistent.

Some said it was because psychics already had enormous demands for Spirit Stones, and if they pursued additional cultivation systems, Spirit Stone consumption would become astronomical.

Others said it was due to insufficient energy and focus; psychic abilities were already complex, and trying to cultivate other systems would cause psychics to lose their concentration.

Yet others claimed it was tradition, that the most ancient psychics had done it this way, and over time, no psychics pursued additional cultivation systems.

Of course, this post wasn’t lacking in conspiracy theories either.

Some pointed out it was a Federation conspiracy.

Through extensive public opinion manipulation, the Federation misled the endless stream of psychics within its borders, keeping the overall combat power of the psychic community at a certain level to reduce pressure on the Law Enforcement Department.

Answers like these grew more and more numerous...

On the Interstellar Hunter Forum, nearly all the idle psychics had converged on this post.

These psychics with free time also began endless, fierce debates beneath the various answers.Loren scanned the numerous answers on the screen, finding it quite amusing.

He had originally thought this post was just a simple newbie question, where some forum bigwigs would step in to answer, reaping endless praise and admiration.

Instead, those forum bigwigs had also started arguing.

Long Live the Federation, The Empire Must Be Eternal: ”Other psychics, I don’t know. For me, it was because I didn’t have many Spirit Stones at the beginning and could only focus on my own psychic system. If I’d had Spirit Stones back then, I might have tried other systems.”

The Forgetful Fishing Enthusiast: ”To be honest, in the early stages, if psychics pursued other cultivation systems, it could compensate for their own weaknesses. I thought about it early on too, but later, as I gradually grew stronger, I just forgot about it.”

If You Disagree, Let’s Spar: ”You’re full of shit! I’m a Legendary Psychic!! Right after I awakened, I thought all other systems were shit!! I disdained pursuing other cultivation systems!! The psychic system has no weaknesses!!!”

Divination and Precognition, 10,000 Spirit Stones Per Session: ”Verdict: the person above is a brainless idiot. I’m also a Legendary Psychic. A long time ago, my intuition told me pursuing other cultivation systems wasn’t a good choice. My subconscious told me it probably had something to do with the future of psychics...”

Being a Slacker is an Attitude: ”Who invited me to answer this question?? I don’t know either, I saw other psychics weren’t pursuing additional cultivation, so I didn’t either.”

Loren hadn’t expected to witness numerous Legendary Psychics starting to argue in this seemingly ordinary post.

Above the Ninth Tier lay ”Legendary.”

Clearly, these psychics who had reached the ”Legendary” tier had, for various reasons, never had the opportunity to pursue other cultivation systems.

It was like different causes leading to the same outcome.

While it had become a consensus among psychics on the forum that psychics didn’t pursue other cultivation systems, no one could give a definitive answer as to the specific reason why.

Loren silently pulled a Federation coin from his pocket.

Now, he also wanted to know the answer to this question.

Then, Loren snapped his left fingers three times in succession, layering three stacks of ”Fortune” upon himself.

Besides the permanent Fortune effect, Loren now had four layers of ”Fortune” enhancement.

Loren silently scrolled to the first answer. While staring at this response, he began tossing the coin into the air.

”I want to know the truth about why psychics are advised against pursuing other cultivation systems. When the truth appears, the coin will land heads-up,” Loren silently recited in his heart.

The coin fell. Tails!

The ”Spirit Stone consumption theory” answer was not the truth.

Loren scrolled to the second answer. The coin rose and fell. Tails!

The ”insufficient energy” answer was also not the truth.

The third answer was still tails!

The ”psychic tradition” answer was still not the truth.

...

Loren proceeded like this, matching each answer on the forum by tossing the coin in his hand.

Using his own unique method, he sought to determine the truth behind it all...

As time passed.

The setting sun outside the window was nearing dusk.

Loren had spent the entire afternoon searching for the truth, tossing the coin all afternoon!

Unfortunately, even now, Loren hadn’t seen a single coin land heads-up!!

All tails!! None of these answers contained the factual truth!!

Loren’s eyes now held a hint of madness.

What the truth actually was had become less important to him.

Now! He just wanted! To know the truth!!!

He just wanted to see the coin land heads-up once!

...

Night deepened.

Loren continued tossing the coin mechanically, throwing it for every answer without exception.

He absolutely had to see the coin land heads-up once!!

The Raven beside him also noticed Loren’s unusual state...

As a pure ”internet-addicted” creature, it too silently put down the portable computer under its claws and began occasionally layering ”Fortune” on Loren.

Hoping to help its master see the coin land heads-up once...

...

Dawn broke.

The morning of the second day arrived.

The light emitted by the star shone through the lounge window into the room, falling on Loren’s face.

Loren’s eyes were now bloodshot.

Continuous use of his ability, combined with staying up all night, had left him utterly exhausted.

But at this moment, his eyes also held madness, excitement, and determination.

He was still tossing the coin. Each time it landed tails, he would stubbornly scroll to the next answer and continue...

No one had ever counted how many psychics existed within the Federation, nor how many psychics were in the Interstellar Hunter Association.

Partly due to the difficulty of counting, partly because many never revealed they were psychics.

And just how many psychics had offered their speculations in this post was also a mystery.

Too many answers, like a vast sea of stars...

Loren only knew he had been tossing the coin continuously for 20 hours.

”Master, maybe rest first, search for the truth again tonight? I’m afraid you’ll die here...” the Raven whispered in advice.

”Shut up! Stupid bird! If I die, I’ll just revive!!!”

After replying, Loren skillfully scrolled to the next answer and began tossing the coin again with determination.

”Sigh...” the Raven worriedly let out a small sigh.

Like a child... Humans really don’t use their brains for proper things...

Then, the Raven silently layered another 5 stacks of ”Fortune” on Loren.

Sigh... What can you do with your own master... Just spoil him...

Just as the Raven finished this thought in its heart.

Loren began laughing maniacally.

”Hahahahahaha... Found it! I found it!!”

The Raven turned its head in surprise towards its master. The coin in Loren’s right hand was now facing heads-up.

It was heads!!!

And after his bout of laughter, Loren simply collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.

He didn’t even take a careful look at the correct answer on the Interstellar Forum before passing out.

He was too tired.

For Loren.

During this process of searching for the truth, the coin landing heads-up had, at some unknown point, become more important than the truth itself.
