I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Although Loren had already guessed who that guy was, he still didn’t make any announcement, maintaining a perfectly appropriate silence.

He just felt some emotion inwardly; the Interstellar Forum truly had a gathering of talented people...

”WannaCatchADruidAsPet,” you really are everywhere, huh? I have to say, you’re a bit too active...

Seeing Loren fall into silence, Abel Norton considerately chose not to speak further, quietly waiting for his subordinates to complete the seizure.

He had done everything he could.

The ”Crisis Transfer” plan was already complete.

From now on, he could only hope Loren would shift the focus of his activities onto the old nobility.

Such a dangerous and bizarre fellow was better off not becoming an enemy of the Security Bureau...

Time slowly passed in the silence between the two men.

The report on this asset seizure also lasted for two hours, until daybreak.Loren only left after the seizure was completed, feeling quite satisfied.

Since half of this was his Spirit Stones, Loren deliberately stayed until the seizure was finished before bidding farewell to Abel Norton, mentally noting all the seized assets.

Clearly, Loren was also afraid the Security Bureau might renege.

He just didn’t know that Abel Norton had no intention of reneging whatsoever and even hoped to give Loren as many Spirit Stones as possible.

Preferably enough to thoroughly ignite Loren’s ”interest” in the old nobility.

After bidding farewell to Abel Norton, Loren retracted the Black Wings behind him, gave a slight tip of his hat to the other man, and turned to leave.

At this moment, he appeared quite polite, with no trace of madness visible on his face at all.

For someone who had brought him a large amount of Spirit Stones, Loren maintained a certain degree of respect.

Although this guy’s words, both overtly and covertly, expressed a desire for Loren to take a crack at the nobles.

But it must be said, thanks to the other’s spur-of-the-moment commission, Loren had reaped a bountiful harvest.

Only after Loren’s figure had walked far away did the people from the other two manors dare to enter this ruined estate.

Davis Feller from the Energy Department, upon learning of Loren’s achievements tonight, absolutely refused to approach this estate. Only after daybreak when Loren had left did he lead his Energy Department people inside.

The people from the Law Enforcement Department and the Casino Board of Trustees were the same.

Not everyone, when facing Loren, possessed Abel Norton’s spirit of always being willing to sacrifice himself for the Federation.

They still wanted to live well and enjoy the affluent life within the Federation.

Only after Loren left did these people muster the courage to step into this ruined estate and begin discussing the division of the three major families’ assets with Abel Norton.

Due to Abel Norton’s insane plan, which dragged all these people into danger.

During the negotiations, except for the Law Enforcement Department personnel, the representatives from the other two forces adopted an extremely tough stance.

Of course, the Law Enforcement Department people also wanted to be tough, but unfortunately, they were practically a half-affiliate department of the Security Bureau already, unable to be tough.

In the end, under the tough attitudes of Davis Feller and that young Superhuman from the Casino Board of Trustees.

The Energy Department obtained the mining rights to those few planets at an extremely reasonable price.

The Casino Board of Trustees received 10% of the seized assets’ share, to be used for rebuilding the Labey Street Casino City and settling the families of those Superhumans who died tonight.

The Law Enforcement Department got 5% of the seized assets’ share. After all, they were half their own people; Abel Norton didn’t make things too difficult for them. The Law Enforcement Department’s losses tonight weren’t small either.

And the remainder was for the Security Bureau itself.

Due to Abel Norton’s bizarre maneuvers, after all this commotion, Loren became the big winner of the night.

Actually, after dividing the three major nobles’ assets, Abel Norton also had a headache figuring out how to write this bizarre work report.

Although, as a frontline agent, his authority was immense, such a bizarre incident still carried the risk of demotion.

In the end, this agent, extremely loyal to the Federation, chose to report truthfully, including the matter of him framing and destroying the three major nobles.

He firmly believed his decision tonight was correct.

Time would prove everything.

That kind of ”work intuition” cultivated over years of mission execution was often the best choice in complex situations.

Of course, the main reason was that those framing tactics could only fool people from other departments; they couldn’t fool his own colleagues within the Security Bureau.

Abel Norton’s colleagues were also very familiar with such framing methods.

Using framing tactics, yet bringing minimal benefit to the Security Bureau, while giving half the profit to a dangerous Superhuman—such things were not common within the Security Bureau.

Abel Norton sighed inwardly, then ordered the team to withdraw. He also had to go back and write his work report...

Meanwhile, Loren, who had departed, was walking with a rather pleasant mood, his steps light.

After leaving the area where the nobles gathered, he casually hailed a Hovercar.

”Interstellar Hunter Association.”

After stating his destination, Loren closed his eyes, preparing to rest them. As usual, he spoke inwardly:

”Stay alert, Raven.”

The Raven, currently in its attached state, didn’t answer Loren’s instruction as it usually would. Instead, it began saying what it had been holding back all night.

”Master, as your wisdom, I think we should have a serious conversation.”

”...Go ahead,” Loren responded inwardly, his tone somewhat resigned.

Sentient beings were indeed troublesome.

”Master, you should reclaim your humanity.”

The Raven’s tone was quite grave.

”What do you mean?”

”After this incident, I’ve come to understand some things.”

”What things?”

”Ever since I gained sentience, I’ve always wondered why your wisdom was given to me at the Fourth Stage.”

”Have you figured it out?”

”Yes, I have, Master.”

”Your inner self yearns for humanity, but your experiences make you resist it. That’s why I was born.”

”And then?”

”If you continue like this, as your Tier increases, you will become a pure madman who craves power.”

”You will become a monster unlike a human, a chaotic monster whose eyes see only amusement.”

”Even if you reach Legendary and eventually become a God. You will ultimately lose yourself. That is terrifying, Master.”

”You know, our Psychic Ability is very special, Master.”

”You cannot lack humanity, Loren, my dear master.”

After listening to the Raven’s admonition, Loren fell into a long silence.

After a good while, he took out that coin from his chest pocket and silently tossed it into the air.

The coin fell.

Heads.

What the Raven said was right.

Damn it, what the Raven said was actually true? It wasn’t just its delusion...

Loren began to seriously consider this matter.

In his mind, he recalled his past...

When did it start for him?

Becoming so crazy and pursuing amusement recklessly?

I remember, at the very beginning, I just wanted to change my own fate...

Under the influence of the Psychic Ability, has the self gradually become lost?

Humanity... interesting.

No, I can’t keep finding this kind of thing interesting anymore.

This already concerns my future, a crucially important future.

I should take it seriously.

Is this the manifestation of lacking humanity? Truly terrifying.
