I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

”Master, this human female, she seems to have entered her estrus cycle.”

Just as Loren was thinking, the voice of the raven sounded in his mind.

Considering they would be going to the casino soon, the raven’s possession state had not been dispelled.

”Shut up, stupid bird.”

After responding to the raven in his mind, Loren gave a slight nod to the lady inside the window, as if acknowledging her explanation.

The intelligence of the Interstellar Hunter Association is truly formidable...

Loren sighed inwardly.

”Thank you for the reminder, and also, this is against the rules.”

Loren picked up the stack of intelligence and his hunter license in front of him, speaking meaningfully to the lady inside the window.

Investigating Loren at the request of the Interstellar Hunter Association was not against the rules. But reminding Loren twice was indeed a violation.

Loren understood that for someone like him, an outsider, conducting a background check was indeed normal procedure.

But the other party should not have said those unnecessary things.

As a window receptionist, she wielded considerable power, possessing far too much information.

The Association explicitly stipulated that they should not develop ”friendships” or similar relationships with Interstellar Hunters.

Objectivity was the primary requirement.

The lady inside the window, upon hearing Loren’s words, narrowed her eyes, a smile spreading across her face.

”This is our little secret, Mr. Loren.”

After a slight nod, Loren gave a symbolic tip of his hat and took his leave.

He made his way through the crowded hall to the elevator. After taking the elevator, Loren returned to his own lounge.

Once inside the lounge, Loren sat down on the sofa and began browsing through the intelligence on various major casinos.

As the ”future Gambling King” of the Jadeite Star Domain, Loren actually knew nothing about casinos.

Just as that receptionist lady had said, the ”entertainment facilities” on starships and ”professional casinos” were two entirely different things.

One was established to serve passengers.

The other existed to make money from gambling.

Page after page of intelligence about casinos slid through Loren’s hands.

He was extremely fast, seeming to only glance at each piece of intelligence before moving on to the next.

”Slow down! Master! I haven’t finished reading them yet!!!!”

Inside Loren’s body, the raven, currently in a state of possession with Loren, was memorizing this thick stack of intelligence through Loren’s eyes.

Loren wasn’t bothering to memorize the intelligence himself; it was the raven who was committing it all to memory.

As Loren’s fourth ability, ”The Raven’s Wisdom” was not just a simple aid to Loren.

”Wisdom” was a very broad term, and photographic memory was included within it.

The raven memorized the intelligence at an astonishing speed.

In less than half an hour, they reached the final printed sheet.

Loren stared at the last piece of intelligence with a strange expression. On this clean sheet of paper was a line of handwritten words.

”Shh~ Mr. Loren, this is Level Four intelligence. Your Level Five clearance won’t come through until tomorrow. I secretly pulled this intelligence out. You, with your current Level Three clearance, will keep this secret for me, right? — Daisy Wendy Benjamin”

The handwriting was quite beautiful but also very scribbled, as if written in a hurry.

After reading it, Loren couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle.

Ms. Daisy, you really have a penchant for breaking the rules...

But, her surname is Benjamin? Interesting.

”Raven, dispel the possession state. We’ll go to the casino tomorrow.”

”As you command, Master.”

The raven’s figure appeared on Loren’s shoulder after a flicker of light.

Loren pulled out a portable computer from his chest pocket.

”Did you memorize all the intelligence?”

”Of course. Don’t underestimate the wisdom of a bird.” The raven’s tone was full of pride.

The portable computer passed from Loren’s hands to the raven’s front.

The raven grabbed the portable computer, flew onto the bed, found a comfortable bird-like posture, opened the computer, and became a pure ”internet-addicted creature”...

Sitting on the sofa, Loren looked at the intelligence scattered on the small table beside the sofa.

He gathered it all up, then carried the thick stack of papers towards the bathroom.

Then, Loren closed the bathroom door.

A gunshot sounded from the bathroom, accompanied by flames and thick smoke rising from the sink.

”Master! Are you trying to blow up our lounge?”

The raven, being an ”internet-addicted creature” on the large bed, turned its little head and shouted upon hearing the noise Loren had created.

”Shut up, stupid bird! Cough! Cough-cough!! I’m destroying the intelligence.” Loren’s voice came from behind the bathroom door, interspersed with bouts of coughing.

Loren had set the power of the energy bullet to the minimum, using it as an explosive lighter.

But this was clearly a bad decision.

The thick smoke billowing from the bathroom window attracted an Association staff member who came knocking on the door.

”Respected Mr. Loren, please do not engage in arson inside the lounge.”

”Apologies, I am currently destroying a notebook that should never have existed in this world.” Loren responded loudly from inside the bathroom.

”Please be careful not to start a fire. There will be a fine, Mr. Loren.”

After another cough sounded from inside the room, followed by a ”Got it!”

Satisfied with the response, the staff member left.

He had fulfilled his duty; the rest was not his concern.

Subsequently, the staff member reported the unusual activity in Loren’s lounge to his superiors.

Soon, someone replied, indicating that as long as Loren hadn’t damaged the lounge, they should leave it be.

After all, Interstellar Hunters destroying things was a very normal occurrence. It was just that Loren’s method this time was a bit too loud and flashy, clearly lacking experience...

Obviously, on the resource planet, within that ”Street of Sin,” no one would have paid any mind to the disturbances Loren created.

Later, this Association staff member knocked on Loren’s door again, thoughtfully delivering a paper shredder.

Loren silently closed the door and placed the shredder on the small table beside the sofa.

It was just a pity that the thick stack of intelligence had already turned to ashes, washed down the drain.

Loren opened all the windows in the lounge to air out the burnt smell.

Then, he silently returned to bed, took out his computer, and logged onto the Interstellar Hunter Forum.

The people here still talk more interestingly...

No discrimination or mockery either, everyone is free and unrestrained...

Noon.

Ms. Daisy Wendy Benjamin, during her daily chat with colleagues, ”accidentally” learned this news.

She laughed heartily, her eyes narrowed so much they were almost invisible.

Meanwhile, Loren had the restaurant deliver a meal to his lounge.

He ate while continuing to browse the Interstellar Hunter Forum.

An interesting post caught Loren’s eye.

”May I ask, why is it not recommended for Psychics to study other power systems as a secondary focus?”
