I Just Wanted to Be a Galactic Hunter—Why Am I on the Wanted List?

Benjamin heard Loren’s answer, smiled, and shook his head, saying:

”As a Fifth Rank hunter assessment, this is already quite difficult. If there were no flaws, then very few people would pass.”

”So, what are the conditions for passing the assessment? Is it to discover the irregularities in the assessment, or to attack you?”

Loren spun his revolver on his fingertip while asking thoughtfully.

This is a rather interesting assessment... Mr. Benjamin.

”Actually, accomplishing either of those two conditions counts as a pass.”

”The former reflects your attentiveness. As an Interstellar Hunter, this is one of the essential qualities.”

”As for the latter, it tests your courage and your desire for freedom, which are also necessary qualities for an Interstellar Hunter.”

Loren stopped spinning the revolver on his finger. ”What about combat prowess?”

Benjamin glanced at the devastation in the basement and said with a pained sigh:”Holding out against me for two minutes means your combat prowess is up to standard.”

”A very good assessment content, I like it,” Loren praised with a smile.

Hearing this, the corner of Benjamin’s mouth twitched involuntarily.

Is it an illusion? I feel like this guy really wanted to attack me during the assessment.

This person seems quite restless...

Forget it, how many Interstellar Hunters are truly peaceful anyway?

Withdrawing his thoughts, Benjamin addressed Loren solemnly:

”Although I’ve already said it once, I must say it again. Congratulations, you passed the assessment.”

Loren put away the revolver and took out a Federation coin to fiddle with in his hand.

As if bored, he casually tossed the coin in his hand into the air and caught it again.

Truth!

Only then did Loren lower his guard, the black wings behind him disappearing without a trace.

He then smiled, gave a slight, respectful tip of his hat to this Mr. Benjamin, and turned to leave directly.

Benjamin felt another headache coming on and raised his voice slightly as he called out to Loren’s retreating back:

”Although the Association doesn’t restrict hunters’ actions, I still hope you can participate in some of the local branch’s activities.”

Loren, who had already taken a few steps, indifferently extended his right hand, the back of his hand facing Benjamin’s direction, and gave a slight wave, indicating he understood...

Seeing Loren’s response, Benjamin smiled helplessly.

What an interesting young fellow... How long has it been since someone like this appeared in the Jadeite Star Domain branch...

Benjamin watched Loren’s gradually receding, dashing figure and couldn’t help but sigh. What a free person...

Then, this branch chief, feeling mischievous, pulled an old notebook from his chest and flung it forcefully toward Loren.

”Mr. Loren, this is for you. I think it will be helpful.”

Loren stopped, turned around, raised his hand, and caught the notebook the other man threw.

”What is this?” His gaze questioned the other man, puzzled.

”Detailed intelligence on the nobles and wealthy individuals within the Jadeite Star Domain who have grievances with me. If you ever plan to pull off a job in the future, remember to pick targets from this list!”

Benjamin said, squinting his eyes, the corners of his mouth upturned.

Loren was taken aback for a moment, then a mischievous smile also appeared on his lips. He silently tucked the old notebook into his own chest pocket, turned, and continued walking away.

Even after turning, the corners of Loren’s mouth still involuntarily curled upwards.

I’m starting to like this sly old man.

Loren’s figure gradually receded until it disappeared from Area F...

After Loren left.

Benjamin also turned to leave, but what met his eyes was the utter mess inside the basement.

The renowned Interstellar Hunter branch chief of the Jadeite Star Domain let out a soft sigh.

Maybe I should change the assessment method from now on. If another combat-strong youngster comes along, this basement won’t be very livable anymore...

Then, he pulled a portable computer from his chest again and sent a message to his secretary.

”Hire a renovation team to repair the basement. The renovation standard must withstand combat from a Seventh Rank Superhuman.”

After sending the message, he leisurely returned to room number 68. This was his real office.

The room next door, number 69, was just a front used for assessments.

After the assessment, Loren left the basement on the negative first floor.

He didn’t return to his own restroom. Instead, he went to the Association building.

From the crowded crowd in the main hall, he quietly walked to the service window he had visited yesterday.

After waiting a short while, it was finally his turn.

He skillfully slid his hunter license through the window.

”Good morning, Mr. Loren. Congratulations on passing your assessment,” the lady inside the window congratulated Loren.

”Good morning, ma’am. Has the information on the hunter license been updated so quickly?” Loren asked with a smile.

It had been less than ten minutes since he walked from the basement to the main hall.

”Not yet, but the expression on your face looks quite pleased. People who fail the assessment don’t have the same look on their faces.”

The lady inside the window said with a smile. Also, Mr. Loren looks really handsome when he smiles...

”You’re very perceptive, ma’am,” Loren complimented.

”Although I’d also love to chat with you a little longer, the people queuing behind might not allow it.”

”So, Mr. Loren, as a Fifth Rank hunter, how may I assist you?”

After saying this, the lady regretfully gestured for Loren to look behind him.

Inside the Interstellar Hunter Association in the morning, the main hall was packed with people. At this moment, Interstellar Hunters needing various services were everywhere.

Long lines of Interstellar Hunters were queued in front of every service window.

”I believe I will need some detailed intelligence on the major casinos within the Jadeite Star Domain,” Loren stated calmly.

Upon hearing Loren’s request, the lady’s expression froze for an instant.

But she quickly regained her professional composure, operated the computer in front of her, retrieved the relevant intelligence, and printed it out.

Finally, on the last page of the printed intelligence, she wrote something with a pen.

Only then did she hand out a stack of intelligence along with Loren’s Interstellar Hunter license.

”Mr. Loren, whatever you plan to do, I wish you good luck.”

”Oh, a friendly reminder: generally, hunters coming from other star domains wait at least three months before resorting to pulling a job when they have absolutely no other choice.”

”And casinos aren’t as easy to target as those wealthy individuals. Their defenses are quite tight.”

After handing over the intelligence, this lady also gave Loren a rather friendly reminder.

Loren shook his head with a wry smile. The Jadeite Star Domain is such an interesting place...

”Don’t worry, ma’am. I don’t want to pull a job right now. I just want to go gamble.”

”Although the intelligence says you won over 2000 Spirit Stones on the interstellar starship you arrived on, the professional casinos operating in Jadeite Main City are not the same as those entertainment facilities...”

The lady inside the window hesitated for a moment but still mentioned this matter.

Hearing this, Loren looked at the lady inside the window with a puzzled expression...

You investigated me using your authority?

”It’s perfectly normal to run a background check on a ’newcomer’ who just arrived at the Association, right?”

The lady understood the meaning in Loren’s gaze and playfully stuck her tongue out at him from inside the window.
