Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times

Chapter 389: Chapter 260 Preparing to Visit the Brothel Chapter 389: Chapter 260 Preparing to Visit the Brothel “Yikes! You’re really getting out of hand, Xiao Leizi, are you trying to start a rebellion?” Gu Changsheng, while picking up that flashy moon-white brocade robe and sizing it up against her body, said.

The sight of her in such high spirits seemed quite awkward to Dong Lei.

Because Dong Lei was a straightforward girl, she spoke her mind plainly, “Lady Changsheng, why do I feel like you’re pretending to visit the Young Master, but actually, you just want to go out and have fun in the Brothel?”

She wasn’t wrong, was she? Look at her lady’s big, bright eyes, full of eagerness and ready to try anything – could anyone be more joyful?

“Yikes! Not at all, Xiao Leizi, you’ve grown smarter! It’s really true that one takes on the color of one’s company. Just by following me, your IQ has skyrocketed!” Gu Changsheng, while undoing the buttons on her clothes, gave Dong Lei a look of approval.

“Lady…” Dong Lei called out with a twitch at the corner of her mouth, and her lady actually admitted it – unbelievable!

“Alright, alright, this is about visiting the little bun and enjoying the Brothel without delay. One should understand how to balance pleasure and life, otherwise, wouldn’t this pale existence be too dull?” Gu Changsheng, in the midst of frantically undressing herself, continued.

These ancient clothes, damn, they were such a hassle to deal with. You could get through late autumn just wearing a lined jacket, but no, you had to layer on undergarments, middle garments, outer shirts, and robes – taking them off, one layer at a time!

“Lady, don’t get too happy just yet. His Highness Prince Bao will not accompany you! Hmph!”

Seeing her lady so informal, Dong Lei couldn’t help but pout and dampen her enthusiasm.

“Yikes! Such rebellion! Out you go, get out of my sight, can’t you see I’m busy?” Gu Changsheng, unfazed by the comment, jokingly tossed the clothes at Dong Lei, as if shooing her away with a laugh.

“Lady, you’re definitely in for a disappointment!” Dong Lei caught the clothes Gu Changsheng threw at her and left with a remark, cradling them as she went outside. “I’m going to see if Si Xi has changed yet.”

Gu Changsheng laughed helplessly, watching Dong Lei hop and skip out the door, and shook her head, “That girl is getting more and more lively!”

After that, Gu Changsheng went back to busying herself.

Disguising as a man was not an easy task. Facing a pile of clothes, Gu Changsheng began the arduous process of binding her chest.

She had already put on her middle garment, but to make it believable, she needed to disguise her bust. Fortunately, she was well prepared.

Gu Changsheng took a two or three meter-long cotton strip and wound it round and round her chest.

Having a large bust is not all it’s cracked up to be – if you bind it loosely, they still protrude; if you bind it tightly, you risk strangling yourself to death.

“Damn, lucky I wasn’t born in the foot-binding era. Just binding the chest is this uncomfortable, foot-binding must have been lethal,” Gu Changsheng cursed as she wrapped the cloth, utterly flustered by the experience!

Indeed, it’s better to be flat-chested, not only for the sake of saving fabric for the nation, but mainly because it’s effortless to pass as a man!

While grumbling to herself, Gu Changsheng finally managed to make her two big chest “buns” appear more like mini “Wangzai” steamed buns, hardly noticeable.

Gradually getting used to the feeling, it wasn’t as uncomfortable as it was when she first started binding her chest.

Pleased with herself, Gu Changsheng layered on the rest of her clothes and then began to apply makeup.

She had already prepared everything she needed that afternoon, so she wasn’t in a rush now.

She proceeded methodically…

Si Xi, who was originally a little eunuch, didn’t need much dressing up, looking just like a neat and tidy Attendant Student.

At this moment, Si Xi and Dong Lei were already waiting outside the door.

Hearing Dong Lei’s various complaints, Si Xi immediately took her side, joining her in hoping that His Highness Prince Bao would not show up.

“But I think, after all the trouble Lady Changsheng’s gone through, even if Prince Bao isn’t willing to go, she would likely tie him up and drag him there either way…” Dong Lei, having spent so much time with Gu Changsheng, understood her quite deeply.

“I think you have a point.” Si Xi thought for a moment and finally nodded his head. After spending a day and a bit together, Si Xi had come to understand that Lady Changsheng was someone who was suitable for both action and quiet, regardless of how outrageous her actions or words might be, or how expressive her face was; she always exuded a unique, cool, and graceful air as if it was innate, naturally formed and unpretentious.

Take, for example, something as scandalous as a woman visiting a Brothel – when Lady Changsheng talked about it, she did so righteously!

As if, by her doing it, it became the most natural thing in the world.

“The tutor has locked himself away to read again, the only person who could control the lady is gone. I can’t help but feel like the lady has this all planned out,” Dong Lei mused, tilting her head, displaying quite a cunning streak.

“I feel the same!” Si Xi agreed.

The two chatted for a while, yet they still looked worried in the end. After all, whatever their lady wanted to do, it was certain they couldn’t stop her.

Dong Lei looked up at the evening sky and muttered, “It’s almost Mao Hour, His Highness Prince Bao has gotten smart this time, looks like he won’t be coming.”

“Based on what you just said, even if Prince Bao doesn’t come, he’ll surely be dragged there by the lady, which means even more misery for him,” Si Xi commented, shaking his head sympathetically at the thought.

“Yeah, it seems our lady is a firm believer in the principle of non-violent non-cooperation…” Dong Lei nodded in agreement.

“What are you two whispering about by the door? Don’t you have any manners?”

Suddenly, a sharp scolding echoed, startling Dong Lei and Si Xi, who were whispering in a corner, to leap aside in fright.

“Heavens! His Highness Prince Bao! Why are you here?”

Si Xi, terrified, looked at Zhou Zongbao who had appeared abruptly, stammering as he spoke and seeking help from Dong Lei.

The two exchanged glances, both with a hint of worry in their eyes.

Had His Highness Prince Bao overheard what they had just been discussing?

“Where is Mother Tigress? Wasn’t it she who sent the Young Master here?” Zhou Zongbao fiercely glared at Si Xi, speaking indignantly.

He was seething with frustration, having carefully pondered the words of Mother Tigress, Gu Changsheng, and feeling there was sense in her words.

Thus, unable to stop Gu Changsheng from strolling alone into the brothel, Zhou Zongbao resigned himself to keep the noble company.

The door suddenly opened from the inside, and a slender and handsome figure appeared before the three.

“Eek!”

Zhou Zongbao took an involuntary step back at the sight, staggering and nearly tumbling over the railing, pointing incredulously at the newcomer, “You? You’re Gu Changsheng?”

Dressed in a moon-white brocade robe, with a fan and a silk headscarf, Gu Changsheng looked every bit the part of a young noble, and nodded with a smile, “Indeed, it is I. May I ask what His Royal Highness, Prince Bao, wishes to convey?”

“Eek!” Zhou Zongbao, upon hearing her speak, was taken aback once again. That voice… it truly sounded like that of a man!

Gu Changsheng gently waved her fan, casually turning a full circle, and asked with a haughty look, “How is it? Do I not resemble a graceful and handsome young man?”

Hearing the low and slightly magnetic voice, and looking at her flawless outfit, Zhou Zongbao couldn’t help but nod, “Yes! You’re incredibly convincing!”

“Haha!” Gu Changsheng burst into laughter upon hearing this, unrestrained and wild, indeed indistinguishable from a man.

“Mother… Mother Tigress, that Adam’s apple, how did you achieve it?” Zhou Zongbao moved forward with a mix of shock and disbelief, bending down to see and even reaching out to touch, “It even moves! How did you do it?”

Gu Changsheng spun around to avoid Zhou Zongbao’s probing hand, speaking discontentedly, “Stop it, I struggled so much just to cut this bit of lifelike pigskin and glue it here. If you smudge it, will you compensate for it?”

“Pigskin?” Zhou Zongbao simply repeated the word and was then at a loss for words.

Such a realistic Adam’s apple, made from pigskin?

Good heavens! His world had been turned upside down!

“Lady Changsheng, you’re incredible! To be able to create such a convincing disguise, it’s practically indistinguishable from the real thing!” Si Xi expressed in admiration, “Even the ear piercings are gone. Incredible! It’s just so convincing!”

Gu Changsheng turned to look at Si Xi and pointed to her neck, “How about it, Xiao Si Xi, do you want one too? There’s still some pigskin left in the room, you know?”

“Me?” Si Xi quickly shook his head upon hearing this, “I’d better not!”

He was a Little Eunuch, after all; it would be strange if he could grow an Adam’s apple.

“True, you’re still so young, it’s normal to lack an Adam’s apple,” Gu Changsheng commented, sizing up Si Xi and nodding her head.

Having a deficiency in male hormone secretion from childhood, it was probable that Si Xi would never develop an Adam’s apple in his lifetime.

“Mother Tigress, is there anything in this world you cannot do?” Zhou Zongbao couldn’t hide his admiration, counting on his fingers, “Superb medical skills, skilled in preparing medicines and compounding poisons, proficient in Kung Fu, able to drill troops and arrange formations, and even… giving birth to sons…”

“Stop right there!” Gu Changsheng quickly interjected upon hearing about bearing sons, eager to steer the conversation away before he could dwell on the topic further, “Actually, there are some things I cannot do.”

“What is it?” Zhou Zongbao immediately inquired.

In his view, Gu Changsheng seemed nearly omnipotent!

“For example, the matter of impregnating women and bearing children, I am indeed not up to the task,” Gu Changsheng said, shaking her fan and raising an eyebrow, speaking with a mischievous tone.

The crowd: “…”

“Ha ha, have I spoken incorrectly? Truly, that is something I cannot do without diamonds; I wouldn’t dare to undertake such delicate work!” Gu Changsheng declared unabashedly, with a brazen and naughty expression on her face.

Surely enough, after hearing her words, all three instantly turned crimson, and among them was a Little Eunuch!

Lady Changsheng truly had no fear in speaking her mind!

“Alright, Zhou Zongbao, I’ll be counting on you this time to lead me to experience the unique charm of the land of fireworks and flowers!” Seeing their reactions, Gu Changsheng continued to change the subject, contented, to prevent any more embarrassment–or worse, burst blood vessels. Heh heh!

With a beet-red face, Zhou Zongbao looked at the woman before him. Did he have a choice?

Could he say he was unwilling to take her to the brothel? Wasn’t he being pushed into this situation against his will?
