Chapter 372: Chapter 245: Fearing a Blunder as the Big Show Begins_2 Chapter 372: Chapter 245: Fearing a Blunder as the Big Show Begins_2 Mentioning Gu Changsheng, Zhou Mu indeed stopped writing, looked up with his handsome eyebrows deeply furrowed, and cold air emanated from him.

If his predictions were right, people from the other Three Kingdoms must have already set off, heading straight for Liuzhou, aiming for the Life Governation Female Star–that is, his Changsheng!

“Summon her in!” Zhou Mu commanded coldly, having thought up to this point.

Eunuch Yuan Bao sighed in relief upon hearing this and hurried out to call Ru Yu in.

When Ru Yu entered the study, she saw a man in purple standing tall and straight, with a slender figure and an aura as imposing as a mountain, which made her unwittingly gaze at him in adoration.

“Ahem, ahem!” Seeing her like this, Eunuch Yuan Bao lightly coughed twice to remind her, full of disdain in his heart!

She’s just a maid from the Grand Tutor’s Huo Family! Not even as good as the maids from Lady Changsheng’s home!

He had never seen any maid from Lady Changsheng’s home gaze adoringly at his master!

“This servant pays respects to His Highness Prince Mu, may your highness live for thousands and thousands of years!” Ru Yu quickly came back to her senses, her face flushed with shyness as she hurriedly knelt down to greet him.

“Leave the item, you may withdraw!” Zhou Mu didn’t even turn around as he spoke coldly.

“Uh…” Ru Yu hesitated upon hearing this; she had only just greeted him and hadn’t said a word otherwise…

“What are you standing around for?” Seeing this, Eunuch Yuan Bao quickly took the tray from her hand and gave her a meaningful look.

Ru Yu felt wronged inside, but she dared not express her anger and could only agree before retreating towards the door.

Eunuch Yuan Bao observed her expression and quickly set down the tray and followed her out.

“Eunuch Yuan Bao, what does His Highness Prince Mu mean by this?” As Yuan Bao caught up, Ru Yu’s expression became even more unsatisfied.

Her young mistress was hailed as the most beautiful woman and most talented lady in the Capital City–an extraordinary person destined for greatness! How could she receive such cold treatment upon arriving at Prince Mu’s Mansion?

She had just begun to feel slightly better a moment ago, but then he put on airs again–for whom was he putting on this act?

Eunuch Yuan Bao looked helplessly at the sky, his mind racing as he contemplated how to deal with this troublesome maid, “How could we servants possibly guess the master’s intentions? Ru Yu, just think about what kind of person my master is…”

“His Highness Prince Mu, he…” Ru Yu began to speak, but suddenly paused.

That’s right! Who was His Highness Prince Mu? He was the Undefeated War God of the Great Zhou Dynasty, with exceptional military achievements, decisive in killing, and with a cold and unpredictable nature…

Upon this realization, Ru Yu’s face involuntarily went through several changes!

Seeing her like this, Eunuch Yuan Bao, leisurely spoke, “Thought it through? If you have, then you may leave.”

Hearing this, Ru Yu bowed gracefully, “This servant thanks Eunuch Yuan Bao for your advice!”

“No need for thanks, I’m just looking out for your young mistress’s face.” Eunuch Yuan Bao replied, turning around to walk back to the study.

Internally, he felt extremely smug; after all, as someone who had been in the palace, even if he wasn’t the smartest, his years of immersion had made him understand the convoluted thoughts of servants.

There’s a science to being an official, and there’s a craft to being a servant! In this regard, Eunuch Yuan Bao was clear!

“Master, she has been sent away!” Eunuch Yuan Bao returned to the study and reported to his master, who was still standing by the window as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He took a bite of a muskmelon that Ru Yu had brought, “It’s from Miss Huo. Since my master probably won’t eat it, I’ll take care of it for you!”

Zhou Mu frowned but gave no response, the worry in his eyes unmistakable.

“Master, this won’t do. According to your plan, we have to put Miss Huo on a pedestal. Otherwise, if the common people believe it to be true, people from the other three kingdoms won’t be so easy to fool.” Eunuch Yuan Bao, who was aware of Zhou Mu’s plan, voiced his concern.

“Mhm.” Zhou Mu responded, his gaze turning toward the vibrant green bamboo in Lansheng Courtyard, “Everyone in the Four Kingdoms knows of this king’s conduct; the principle of moderation is something you should understand.”

Eunuch Yuan Bao understood and nodded, “Your highness is right, keeping a balance could work. But about Lady Changsheng…”

“Now is not the time to let her know, lest it adds to her troubles!” Zhou Mu interrupted coldly.

Eunuch Yuan Bao, munching on the muskmelon, looked up at his worried master and said, “Master, Lady Changsheng doesn’t know about your painstaking efforts. If she sees you getting close to Miss Huo, wouldn’t she cause an uproar?”

The thought of Gu Changsheng flying into a rage sent chills down Eunuch Yuan Bao’s spine. Lady Changsheng, unaware of the truth, might, in a fit of rage, slaughter everyone in the County Prince’s Mansion, right?

The more Eunuch Yuan Bao thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. He empathetically wrapped his arms around himself, remembering the scene of Changsheng’s Mother cutting down the City Lord’s Mansion like the Grim Reaper descending on the earth. Every time he recalled it, he still shuddered with fear!

“Master, shouldn’t we inform Lady Changsheng of this matter, so at least there won’t be…”

At least there wouldn’t be a threat to their lives! Eunuch Yuan Bao silently completed the sentence in his mind.

“No, Hetian is in the Gu Residence now, and it’s full of young and old, women and children. If someone leaks the news and Hetian finds out, then the old man won’t be fooled!” Zhou Mu said, shaking his head.

“Wouldn’t it be better to let His Majesty know? If His Majesty learns that Lady Changsheng is a woman born of divine destiny, he won’t oppose your marriage to Lady Changsheng anymore!” Eunuch Yuan Bao became visibly excited at the thought.

His master was soon to be twenty-one, and most princes and commandery princes would have children running around by that age. Yet his master had not even been close to a woman other than Changsheng’s Mother; this couldn’t continue!

If His Majesty finds out about Lady Changsheng’s extraordinary destiny, he would undoubtedly agree to his master taking her as his wife.

Then, in a year or two, Prince Mu’s Mansion would be welcoming new members!

Thinking this, Eunuch Yuan Bao inevitably thought of the lovable Young Master at the Gu Residence. He couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear, His Highness Prince Bao was truly wise–Changsheng’s Mother really did have the gift of bearing children!
