Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1012: Chapter 707: Clan System and Sect System (Part 2)

The Yang family has six branches: Yang Chengze, Yang Mingwu, Yang Mingzhen, Yang Chengxu, Yang Chengche, and Yang Qinwu.

There are sixteen affiliated families: Jiang He, Wang Mingzhe, Lin Zhan, Ding Qiu, Wu Zhan, Luo Jingsong, Luo Feiyu, Luo Shang, Zhen Yang Family, Lv Xinghe, Xie Yuan, Han Cheng, Wu Chongshan, Yu Tonghai, Xue Ping, and Zhang Yuanwu.

The function of the Clan Council is to study major issues and decisions within the sect, and it has the right to vote on significant matters.

Yang Zhenshan established the Clan Council with considerations of solidifying the status of numerous affiliated families.

Some of these people are still outside and haven’t moved into the Spiritual Spring Space, while others are old and frail, nearing the end of their lives.

However, it is undeniable that over the years, they have been devotedly working for the Yang family, always closely following the family’s steps.

They are the meritorious contributors to the Yang family and the foundation of its growth and expansion.

Yang Zhenshan is a nostalgic person and wants to provide some preferential treatment to these people, while also intending to rope in their strengths.

The selection of families for the Clan Council is not based on strength but on loyalty and contribution to the Yang family.

Why weren’t families like Zhou, Liang, and Qu selected?

Because they did not follow the Yang family.

On the other hand, families represented by Luo Shang, Zhen Yang Family, and Lv Xinghe have consistently been loyal to the Yang family despite not having strong family power.

Especially Luo Shang, who has been following Yang Zhenshan for almost forty years, no matter what, Yang Zhenshan feels he needs to give a proper explanation to him.

The number of families within the Clan Council is not fixed, and Yang Zhenshan has established strict admission and expulsion rules; for traitors, he wouldn’t hesitate to kick them out or even get rid of them.

For families wanting to join the Clan Council in the future, Yang Zhenshan has set very stringent conditions.

Actually, Yang Zhenshan wants to involve someone else in the Clan Council, and this person is Song Dashan, though he needs a proper discussion with Song Dashan.

Yang Zhenshan will definitely pull Song Dashan in, but he needs to consider whether to allow the Song family to join the Clan Council.

Besides the Elder Council and Clan Council, there are various other halls.

Each hall has one Hall Master and two Vice Hall Masters.

Law Enforcement Hall, responsible for upholding internal laws, Hall Master Yang Mingzhao, Vice Hall Masters Yang Chengche and Yang Qinwu.

Protection Hall, guards and military within the Spiritual Spring Space, Hall Master Yang Minghao, Vice Hall Masters Luo Jingsong and Wu Zhan.

Foreign Affairs Hall, maintaining the Yang family’s external influence, such as Divine Wood Island, Yang family businesses, Da’an New Dynasty, Dajing Kingdom, etc., Hall Master Yang Mingzhi, Vice Hall Masters Jiang He and Luo Zhen.

Treasure Hall, responsible for resource allocation within the space, essentially distributing cultivation salaries, Hall Master Yang Mingcheng, Vice Hall Master Qingxia.

Teaching Hall, entrusted with Martial Arts instruction, managing the Book Collection Pavilion, training talents like Alchemists and forging skills, Hall Master Wang Mingzhe.

Additionally, there are the Politics Hall, Miscellaneous Affairs Hall, and others.

Below the Hall Master are three levels of Deacons, responsible for various specifics.

These are merely Yang Zhenshan’s current plans. Currently, the population inside the space isn’t large, and many haven’t yet moved in, so the plan can’t be implemented fully.

But eventually, this organizational structure will likely be established as the space expands.

Inside the space, on the east side of Longevity Village.

Yang Zhenshan, Yang Mingcheng, Wang Mingzhe, and Luo Shang stood at the foot of a mountain, inspecting the surrounding wasteland.

Luo Shang, being old, walked with a cane, stumbling a bit, requiring his grandson’s support.

Nonetheless, this time Yang Zhenshan still brought this old fellow over.

He wanted this old fellow to take a look inside the space, and also wished for him to retire here in the future.

Although nothing is lacking on Divine Wood Island, the space is more conducive to health, with the Spiritual Spring Water alone significantly prolonging life.

Not just for Luo Shang, after expanding Longevity Village, Yang Zhenshan plans to invite Xie Yuan, Han Cheng, Wu Chongzhe, and Zhen Yang Family members to retire inside the space.

These people are unlikely to become Innate Martial Artists, but they can live to be a hundred.

”A Clan Hall will be built here, with the front hall as a meeting room and the back hall as an ancestral shrine. In front of the meeting room, the offices for various halls will be spacious, not too petty!”

”That river will be called Spirit River in the future, and tributaries from Spirit River should cross the city, loop around, and flow back into Spirit River.”

”A Medicine Hall can be built on the northern hillside, specifically for Alchemist use, while the hill over there will have a forging workshop. Though we don’t have Earth Fire Island’s volcano, we must research weapon forging!”

”And to the south, construct an expansive martial arts arena, where everyone can practice martial arts in the future!”

While surveying the surroundings, Yang Zhenshan made plans.

Currently, it’s only Longevity Village here, but it will inevitably expand continuously, so planning ahead is warranted.

Fortunately, there’s vast wasteland within the space, allowing Yang Zhenshan to plan as he pleases.

After speaking, Yang Zhenshan looked at Luo Shang, ”Do you think anything should be added?”

Luo Shang, with blurry eyes, surveyed the surroundings and said, ”What does the old master hope this place will become in the future?”

Yang Zhenshan was taken aback by this; he had thought about it but hadn’t pondered deeply.

This is merely the beginning; he’ll undoubtedly increase investment and construction within space in the future, but the extent is yet to be determined.

He contemplated slightly, then gazed north across the plain and said, ”The short-term goal is to build a residential area the size of a town, while the long-term goal depends on our development pace.”

Luo Shang nodded, ”Then it’s simple, if the old master only intends to build a town now, planning casually is fine!”

”As for the rest, further planning can be made later!”

”Actually, I believe the Elder Council and Clan Council should be built on the mountain!”

He looked toward the northern hilltop.

Yang Zhenshan looked over as well; from here, both Spiritual Spring Mountain and the snowy mountain can be seen, though the nearby peak isn’t on the Spiritual Spring Mountain slope.

The nearby mountain is a gentle, long, wide, and flat hilltop.

”Are you suggesting a city built on the mountain?”

”No, it can’t be built on the mountain!”

Yang Zhenshan negated the idea before Luo Shang could reply.

”Why? Building on the mountain could better assert the family head and clan’s authority!” Luo Shang argued.

Yang Zhenshan laughed, ”You’re not wrong, but the mountain lacks a river!”

What’s the key resource here?

It’s Spiritual Spring Water!

Building a city on the mountain sounds appealing, but Spirit River can’t flow upwards.

”I see!” Luo Shang turned to glimpse Spirit River in the distance, realizing.

He evidently overlooked Spirit River’s significance, which is understandable since he just arrived in the space, still unacquainted with its conditions.

Luo Shang’s idea actually served as a reminder to Yang Zhenshan.

No need to consolidate all constructions here; they could extend into the hills.

While the mountain top is unsuitable, Spirit River’s upper stream could be ideal!

Spirit River’s upper reach has a waterfall and a sizable pool, buildings could ideally be constructed along the riverbank.

However, the project scale would increase exponentially as a result.

Constructing here involves flatland; buildings can be decided freely.

On riverbanks, construction requires excavation, significantly raising the workload.

After deliberating, Yang Zhenshan said, ”Let’s build a temporary Clan Hall here first, and I’ll keep considering the rest!”

Starting is always challenging, everything in space is at its inception; erecting vast, grand structures swiftly is implausible.

Moreover, the population within the space isn’t substantial enough to support major projects.

Later, Yang Zhenshan discussed with others, deciding to establish a temporary Clan Hall first.

Of course, necessary institutions and hall offices are required but not on the grand scale initially envisaged by Yang Zhenshan.

For other residences, it’s much simpler, constructing some three-compound courtyards will suffice.

On Divine Wood Island, the Yang family lives separately, and other families similarly inhabit separate quarters. Everyone is accustomed to personal homes, rather than a collective extended family residence.
