Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1002: Chapter 703: Second Young Master Is Absolutely Ruthless!

”Rest on the spot for a day, we will set off again at night!”

Yang Mingzhi ordered.

A night of battle is not enough to exhaust the soldiers, but this is their first time participating in such an intense fight. They need time to summarize and digest the experiences gained in battle.

Of course, they also need time to rest, replenish supplies, and recover arrows.

The arrows used by the strongbowmen are not ordinary arrows. The arrowheads are forged from Earthfire Steel by the Zhu family of Earth Fire Island, the shafts are made from branches of the Ten-thousand-year-old Rong, and the feathers are made from goose wings.

Creating strongbows is extremely difficult, and making the arrows requires great effort as well.

These past three years, Yang Mingzhi has not only been training strongbowmen but also researching the craft of making strongbows and arrows.

Creating a set of bow and arrow and cultivating a strongbowman is unimaginably difficult.

With the resources and foundation of the Yang family, Yang Mingzhi has only managed to train a thousand strongbowmen in three years, which shows the difficulty in cultivating strongbowmen.

In other powers, let alone a thousand, even three or four hundred would be extremely rare.

Previously, the Divine Wood Sect had less than four hundred strongbowmen. Was it because they didn’t want to cultivate more?

Of course not!

It’s because they were incapable of cultivating more strongbowmen.

Moreover, there are some differences between the strongbowmen of the Divine Wood Sect and those of the Yang family. The Divine Wood Sect’s strongbowmen were only the lowest grade, requiring only the ability to pull a strongbow.

While the Yang family’s strongbowmen have many requirements, far exceeding the Divine Wood Sect’s strongbowmen.

Yang Mingzhi was able to cultivate these thousand strongbowmen by meeting three conditions that other powers find hard to fulfill.

First, the Ten-thousand-year-old Rong. The aerial roots of the Ten-thousand-year-old Rong are actually a cheap material. Without them, creating a strongbow would cost more than forging an Earthfire Steel weapon.

The Zhu family can forge more than three hundred Earthfire Steel weapons each year, but they cannot make three hundred strongbows.

Second, the necessary conditions for a strongbowman: arm strength, endurance, and eyesight. Not all Postnatal Fifth Layer martial artists can become strongbowmen.

To become a strongbowman, one must possess extraordinary arm strength, lasting endurance, and far superior eyesight.

Arm strength and endurance can be improved through training.

But eyesight is not so easy.

Either through cultivating special techniques or consuming treasure medicine and spirit fruit that enhance eyesight.

Both methods require significant time and resources.

The Yang family has Spiritual Spring Water, which enhances the body comprehensively, including hearing and eyesight.

This is something other powers cannot compare with.

Third is the Yang family’s foundation. The current foundation isn’t only reflected in resources but also includes the number of martial artists, training methods, connections, and many other aspects.

There’s no need to elaborate on the number of martial artists. Divine Wood Island is not heavily populated, but the Yang family has a large number of postnatal martial artists, who form the foundation of the Yang family.

Training soldiers is also what the Yang family excels in. From Yang Zhenshan to Yang Mingzhi, Yang Minghao, and many guardian soldiers, all are extremely skilled in training soldiers due to constant exposure.

As for connections, take the Zhu family of Earth Fire Island, for example. To have them help forge Earthfire Steel arrowheads is not something an average power can accomplish.

The Zhu family is reluctant to engage in such unskilled tasks, but due to the close relationship between the Yang and Zhu families, the Zhu family is willing to help.

Three conditions, which other powers may meet one or two, but fulfilling all three is almost impossible.

The previous Divine Wood Island couldn’t, Da Rong in the past couldn’t, and even the current Zhu family can’t.

These thousand strongbowmen may seem ordinary, but in reality, they are the result of the Yang family’s strength and foundation.

They are not armed to the teeth, but every aspect of theirs is built upon a large expenditure of resources and Silver Coin.

The Tatar Tribe is not truly weak; rather, they face an enemy too powerful.

So powerful that they cannot comprehend it.

The downfall of the Tata’er Tribe Banner ground is just the beginning. In the ensuing days, Yang Mingzhi led two thousand Divine Wood Soldiers in a death-like storm, sweeping through all the Tatar Tribe’s settlements.

Initially, they attacked one settlement a day, but as time went on and the larger settlements were wiped out, they began splitting troops. It didn’t require all two thousand Divine Wood Soldiers to tackle smaller settlements; a few hundred soldiers sufficed.

As they moved, the southern Monghe Mountain region fell into a state of panic.

Countless Tatar Tribe members fled their settlements with their families, yet Yang Mingzhi would not let them escape easily.

The slaughter spread from settlement to every hill, every patch of grassland.

When Han Fei arrived at the Tatar Tribe with thirty thousand elite troops from Chongshan Town, all he saw were corpses scattered across the ground and settlements devoid of any living soul.

Yang Mingzhi had only two thousand soldiers, insufficient manpower to clear the battlefield, so they focused solely on slaughter; everything else was left for Han Fei to handle afterward.

Thus, Han Fei and his thirty thousand Chongshan Town elites became the cleanup crew for the battlefield.

”Damn, the Second Young Master is truly ruthless!”

Han Fei stood at the Tata’er Tribe Banner ground, gazing at the corpses and dried blood stains, and couldn’t resist expressing his inner shock.

”Pass the order, have the laborers behind speed up.”
