Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1001: Chapter 702: A Dazzling Performance by the Powerful Archers

Yang Mingzhi saw this scene and revealed a sneer on his face.

Thinking of blocking the strong bowmen he trained with a single palace gate is sheer fantasy.

The next moment, a rain of arrows fell like boulders on the palace gate, making thumping sounds.

In the blink of an eye, the heavy palace gate shattered.

No matter how heavy, the palace gate was only made of wood. The arrows shot by the strong bowmen have the force of a thousand pounds. The gate might block one arrow, but can it block ten?

Arrows flew into the hall, taking lives one by one.

Then, over a hundred Divine Wood soldiers charged into the hall.

As mentioned earlier, the actual combat training of these Divine Wood soldiers is based on fighting on warships, specializing in combat within narrow spaces.

And now, in the narrow space of the hall, not only can they not effectively stop the Divine Wood soldiers’ slaughter, but it also limits the Hu Clan elite’s prowess.

In just a moment, the hall was covered with corpses, and the battlefield shifted from the hall to the stone houses behind it.

Bai Ning was not dead yet; he escaped through the back door of the hall, but he was only a moment away from death.

Bai Ning fled frantically, but the entire city wall of the king’s city was occupied by Divine Wood soldiers. Most of the two thousand Divine Wood soldiers were shooting Hu Clan inside and outside the king’s city from the city wall, while a small group of Divine Wood soldiers rushed into the city to massacre.

They made killing look simple; regardless of men, women, or children, it’s all a matter of one arrow. If one arrow was not enough, then they’d shoot another.

Bai Ning wanted to escape, but soon he could no longer run.

An arrow pierced his heart from behind, and the next moment he fell to the ground, never to rise again.

In the chaos, no one paid attention to his death.

Even the Divine Wood soldier who shot him merely glanced indifferently at his corpse before swiftly focusing on another target.

Death and chaos continued, but the battle had transformed into another form.

Strong bowmen and sword shield hands began spreading from the center of the king’s city to all directions. In ten-man squads, they took high ground in the flag territory, shooting ruthlessly at any figures they saw.

At this moment, all the gates of the flag territory opened, and countless Tatar Tribe people fled it miserably.

Defeat came swiftly like a mountain collapsing!

When panic set in, most people were left with only the thought of fleeing.

This flag territory has a population of over a hundred thousand. Even if they stood together for strong bowmen to shoot, they wouldn’t kill them all, as there aren’t enough arrows.

But right now, no one thought about this, nor could they envision such a thing. They didn’t even know how many enemies were there; they only knew the enemies were terrifying and wished to escape the territory where their ancestors lived for generations.

Time ticked by, and the chaotic atmosphere gradually diminished. By the time a strip of daylight appeared in the eastern sky, the whole flag territory finally returned to last night’s silence.

The once large territory became sparsely populated; aside from the Divine Wood soldiers searching the area, almost no other figures could be seen.

However, beneath this silence, there were still occasional piercing cries and screams for mercy.

Not everyone had fled, nor had everyone been shot dead. Some were still hiding in their homes in the territory, while the Divine Wood soldiers were eliminating the remaining survivors.

The dense smell of blood filled the fresh morning air, and the scattered corpses seemed to have a layer of soft gauze draped over them in the dawn light. The morning dew on the blood made the bright red pools even more vivid.

The morning’s tenderness and the battlefield’s bloodshed intertwined, forming a strange sight. From afar, it seemed like the beauty of the morning, but upon closer inspection, one would discover the heart-wrenching tragedy.

Yang Mingzhi stood on the roof of the palace in the king’s city, gazing westward, overlooking the bloody battlefield below with an uncontrollable smile on his face.

For him, this was not a cruel act but a magnificent performance.

He had prepared for this performance for three years, working tirelessly day and night. Finally, he brought his results to the stage, performing an unprecedentedly splendid show.

”Second Young Master!” Xue Fuyang came before Yang Mingzhi, clasping his fists in salute.

Xue Fuyang, the second son of Xue Ping, previously served as a sentry commander in the Divine Wood Island Navy, now acts as a thousand commander under Yang Mingzhi.

A thousand strong bowmen and a thousand sword shield hands are the structures of two thousand commanders, led by Yu Zhangshu and Xue Fuyang respectively.

”Hmm!” Yang Mingzhi responded.

”Reporting to Second Young Master, in this battle four of our soldiers were seriously injured, thirty-two were lightly injured, none died!” Xue Fuyang said cheerfully.

”Four seriously injured?” Yang Mingzhi asked.

”Yes, four sword shield hands were heavily struck when blocking enemies. Three had broken arms, and another injured internal organs. I have treated their injuries and given them elixirs. It is estimated they’ll recover after a month of rest!” Xue Fuyang replied.

Yang Mingzhi nodded slightly. Fighting with ten thousand using two thousand, none died, and fewer than forty were injured. Such a feat could indeed be called miraculous.

It may seem unreasonable, but upon closer thought, it is not an incomprehensible outcome.

Firstly, this battle was a night raid; the Tatar Tribe had not organized an effective resistance, and from the start, it was one-sided slaughter.

Secondly, the strong bowmen’s advantage was too obvious. Far-reaching shots with powerful force, even half-step Innate experts died under the rain of arrows, let alone other Hu Clan elites, who almost could not approach the strong bowmen.

Moreover, if they approached, they would be countered by the sword shield hands.

Whether it was a sword shield hand or a strong bowman, they held cultivation levels above the Postnatal Fifth Layer.

The Postnatal Fifth Layer is not considered strong, but as long as they are not facing Innate Martial Artists, they have a bit of leverage.

Just like when attacking the king’s city, a half-step Innate martial artist tried to approach the strong bowmen, and two sword shield hands collided without any skills.

Their task was not to kill that half-step Innate martial artist, but to impede the attack.

Time doesn’t need to be long, just enough for the opponent to pause momentarily, and the strong bowmen can seize the opportunity for a fatal blow.

Of course, those two sword shield hands paid a price, forcing a collision with a half-step Innate expert with Postnatal Fifth Layer cultivation. Even holding iron shields, they had their arms fractured.

But undoubtedly, they stopped that half-step Innate expert, who died under the rain of arrows.

This was the first appearance of strong bowmen; the Tatar Tribe not only had no defenses but in haste could not think of a strategy against strong bowmen.

If the Tatar Tribe had known beforehand about the might of the strong bowmen, perhaps they could have mounted a commendable counterattack.

Finally, Yang Mingzhi almost dominated this battle with time, place, and unity.

Time: Deep in the night, the Tatar Tribe’s people were suddenly awakened, easily succumbing to panic.

Place: Although the territory’s buildings seemed to limit the bowmen’s shooting, those stone-built houses actually served as the bowmen’s most favorable barriers.

Unity: Compared to the disorganized Tatar Tribe, two thousand Divine Wood soldiers cooperated seamlessly, organized, supporting each other, and coordinating swiftly.

With these various factors, the territory’s over a hundred thousand residents could not form effective combat power, completely reduced to targets for the strong bowmen’s slaughter.
