Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1010: Chapter 706: Place of Long-Term Residence (Part 2)

Yang Yunxue said, ”Jinyan and I have discussed it, and we plan to stay on Divine Wood Island. Over in Da’an, we will let Qingping inherit the title!”

The Changping Marquis Mansion was upgraded to the Duke Ping Mansion, and it was bestowed upon not Liang Jinxing, the eldest grandson of the Liang family’s eldest house, but Liang Jinyan. This was not suggested by Yang Zhenshan but requested by Liang Chu.

Yang Zhenshan naturally did not care about titles, but Liang Chu had other considerations.

If the title were passed on to Liang Jinxing, the Liang family would be distanced from the Yang family by several layers. However, if Liang Jinyan inherits the title, the relationship between the two families would be much closer.

Even after a couple of generations, the two families would still be genuine relatives.

As for whether there might be dissatisfaction within the Liang family, that is not a problem Yang Zhenshan needs to consider.

Moreover, even if there is dissatisfaction, what can be done?

Above Liang Jinyan and Yang Yunxue are Liang Shengze and Liang Chu. With two Innate Martial Artists in the middle, even if Liang Jinxing is unwilling, he is powerless.

”What about Liang Chu? What are his plans?” Yang Zhenshan continued to ask.

Although Yang Zhenshan had met Liang Chu in the Capital City, they did not discuss matters concerning Liang Jinyan and Yang Yunxue, so he really did not know Liang Chu’s plans.

Yang Yunxue replied, ”Father-in-law plans to come to Divine Wood Island after things settle down in Da’an for a short while.”

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, indicating that the Liang family also intended to settle on Divine Wood Island.

It’s often said that a big tree branches out, and a large family always splits into many branches. A family like the Liang family, which has been passed down for four hundred years, has already branched out countless times.

However, those branches of the Liang family no longer have much connection with the current Liang family. The present Liang family is really only the branch of Liang Shengze, and Liang Shengze’s descendants are not many. Liang Chu’s descendants are similarly few, so the current Liang family’s population is relatively simple.

Similarly, the Zhou family is also like this. The direct lineage of the Zhou family’s main branch does not have many members; Zhou Mao has only one son, and Zhou Xu also has only one son, though Zhou Yuanchen has two sons and two daughters.

However, the Zhou family still maintains family ties, and the Zhou clan is also quite a large family, with hundreds of family members, unlike the Liang family which is very scattered.

”Since you intend to stay on Divine Wood Island, let’s arrange some duty for Jinyan,” Yang Zhenshan thought, then continued, ”Tomorrow let him find Wu Zhan, and in the future, he will work in the Divine Wood Navy!”

Liang Jinyan has a relatively mild personality and actually only average ability, without much ambition.

To be honest, this fellow is like a salted fish; aside from practicing, he really has no other ambition.

If he had even a little ambition, he surely wouldn’t have worked in the Military Department for more than thirty years.

Since this fellow is going to live on Divine Wood Island, Yang Zhenshan naturally cannot let him idle. First, give him some duty to manage.

Divine Wood Island is not like Da’an New Dynasty; working as an official in Da’an New Dynasty may require a lot of effort, especially for key positions where one must devote all their energy to public duties.

Working on Divine Wood Island is different; there are fewer duties and no need to waste too much effort, so it doesn’t affect practice.

Even Jiang He, the head of the government now, has become leisurely, mainly handling some simple duties daily and planning long-term, without needing much time.

Later, Yang Zhenshan chatted with Yang Yunxue and others briefly, before Yang Yunxue and others said their farewells.

In the following days, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi summoned his sons and grandsons one by one.

The Yang family now has too many members, and if gathered together, it would inevitably lead to neglect, so Yang Zhenshan prefers calling them over individually to talk.

This method takes more time but ensures everyone is attended to, and shows his affection as a grandfather or great-grandfather.

After meeting the Yang family members, Yang Zhenshan then summoned Wang Mingzhe’s family.

Wang Mingzhe already has a grandson, and his grandson is four years old.

Watching the chubby little fellow kneeling and calling him ”grandmaster” in a sweet voice, Yang Zhenshan smiled broadly, ”Come here, let grandmaster take a good look at you!”

Wang Mingzhe helped his eldest grandson up and brought him to Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan held the little fellow in his arms, smiling so much that his eyes crinkled into crow’s feet.

”This boy is clearly your grandson; these eyes of yours all have the same look!”

Wang Mingzhe, Wang Chengxue, and this little fellow Wang Jihai all have a noticeable feature: slightly upturned eye corners, especially evident when they smile, giving a lively impression.

”Haha, this boy isn’t like me; he’s too naughty!” Wang Mingzhe laughed.

Yang Zhenshan gave him a glance, ”You’re shameless to say that. You only knew how to sleep when you were young, always looked half-asleep, boys should be mischievous! Someone like you is worrisome!”

Thinking of Wang Mingzhe when he was young, Yang Zhenshan couldn’t help but laugh.

Wang Mingzhe loved sleeping when he was young, and also loved being lazy. As long as there was a place for him to lie down, he could sleep for most of the day.

Even now Wang Mingzhe is quite lazy, doing nothing besides alchemy and practicing.

After teasing the little fellow for a moment, Yang Zhenshan finally started talking business.

”I want you to go to a place, taking all your family with you!”

”What place? The place elder brother and sister-in-law went?” Wang Mingzhe asked.

By elder brother, he naturally meant Yang Mingcheng, who has disappeared for several years, and everyone knows he should have gone to some unknown place.

However, the exact place remains unknown to everyone.

”Hmm, it’s rather quiet there, not suitable for everyone, but you should be able to endure it!”

”Besides your family, I also plan to pick some children to go over!”

”That place will be our long-term residence in the future!”

Yang Zhenshan said.

Whether it is Divine Wood Island or Da’an New Dynasty, although these belong to the Yang family, in Yang Zhenshan’s heart, they are merely bases of the Yang family’s influence, whereas the Spiritual Spring Space is Yang Zhenshan’s true foundation, and he wants to make it the Yang family’s ancestral land.

Currently, living conditions in the Spiritual Spring Space are very basic, plus there are many uncertainties within the space, so Yang Zhenshan hasn’t moved the entire Yang family there.

Once the Spiritual Spring Space is fully constructed and confirmed to exist long-term, Yang Zhenshan will undoubtedly develop it into the Yang family’s ancestral land.

”Ah, is it inconvenient to enter and exit that place?” Wang Mingzhe guessed some circumstances of the Spiritual Spring Space.

”Yes, it’s a bit inconvenient, but it’s still possible to come out!” Yang Zhenshan replied.

Wang Mingzhe pondered slightly and then said, ”Disciple is willing to follow Master’s arrangements!”

Yang Zhenshan certainly wouldn’t harm him, so he wasn’t worried. He hesitated only out of curiosity about the place.

”Good, gather your things now, and in half a month, we’ll move together!”

”How shall we move? By ship?” Wang Mingzhe asked.

Yang Zhenshan chuckled and shook his head, ”Not by ship; just pack your belongings in your home, and you’ll naturally know how to move when the time comes!”

Wang Mingzhe’s eyes brightened, growing more curious about the place Yang Zhenshan mentioned.

Yang Zhenshan did not elaborate, gave him some instructions, and then let him leave.

After sending off Wang Mingzhe, Yang Zhenshan called Jiang He in to prepare some supplies.

Jiang He certainly won’t move into the Spiritual Spring Space; the big affairs on Divine Wood Island still need his oversight, but Yang Zhenshan did remind him to start grooming a successor.

Although Jiang He isn’t moving into the Spiritual Spring Space now, he definitely will in the future.

Living in the Spiritual Spring Space offers many advantages, and Yang Zhenshan relishes moving everyone close to him into it.

In the following half-month, Yang Zhenshan prepared for a renewed migration into the Spiritual Spring Space.

This migration involved many more people compared to last time.

Furthermore, many of those moving in are descendants of the Yang family.
