Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 791: Chapter 599 The Landlord’s Foolish Son Returns Home_2

”If the gardens and tea trees could be placed on the eastern hillside, that side of the slope is vast and gentle, perfect for planting tea trees and fruit trees without any issues. The only inconvenience is the irrigation with Spiritual Spring Water, but now that it can rain in the space, they can be left to grow naturally.

Other miscellaneous things can also be relocated elsewhere, on the mountain plateau around the Spiritual Spring, Yang Zhenshan plans to leave only Spirit Fruit and Treasure Medicine.

The plateau is vast, spanning tens of thousands of acres, enough for Yang Zhenshan to toil with. Beyond the plateau, even extensive farming is out of Yang Zhenshan’s reach.

Thus, what Yang Zhenshan needs to do is scatter seeds and transplant various plants.

He first scattered all the seeds he could find within the space, then prepared to take Yu Qingyi out for a walk.

His plan was to first head to the snowy plains of the North, then from there to Da Rong’s west where many deserts lay adjacent; surely, there would be numerous exotic plants. Then, they would go to Wanshan Ridge. Although they had been to Wanshan Ridge before, they only stayed for three months at that time. This time they planned to stay longer and collect more animals and plants.

From Wanshan Ridge, they would go to Yun Gui, then to Yunling Town, and after that, to the South Sea Domain’s various Dynasties. As for where to go last, they would decide when the time comes.

Searching for animals and plants while visiting friends along the way.

This would be a pleasant journey.

It just so happened that Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi had had their fill of staying on Star Moon Island, and it was time for them to go out and wander.

”In the future, you brothers discuss and manage the island’s affairs! Don’t stir up any messy troubles, or you’ll see how I deal with you when I return!”

Yang Zhenshan called over Yang Mingcheng and Yang Mingzhi and instructed them.

With Yang Minghao in the Lv Sheng Dynasty and Yang Mingzhao in Da Rong, only Yang Mingcheng and Yang Mingzhi on the island had the authority to make decisions.

”Dad, how long will you be gone?” Yang Mingcheng asked.

Yang Zhenshan replied: ”At the shortest one year, at most three to five years.”

”...”

Yang Mingcheng looked at him blankly, ”Dad, can I come with you?”

Yang Zhenshan glared at him severely, ”How old are you already, still acting like a child who can’t leave his parents?”

”Uh, no, I also want to go out and explore!” Yang Mingcheng said somewhat sheepishly.

He wasn’t dependent on Yang Zhenshan, he was just used to being by his side.

”Stay on Star Moon Island honestly and manage the household affairs.”

Yang Zhenshan, not wanting to argue with him, simply said, ”There’s plenty of Spirit Fruit, wines, and Bee King Honey in the family cellar, and there’s Dongling Spring in the storehouse. In the future, you’ll be in charge of distributing the salaries to everyone!”

”Oh!” Yang Mingcheng responded without much enthusiasm.

Yang Zhenshan then looked towards Yang Mingzhi and said, ”Keep a close eye on the Navy and the Trading Company’s affairs. If there’s any trouble, you can seek help from Da Rong and Earth Fire Island!”

The Yang family had enemies in the East South Sea Domain as they had snatched considerable benefits in the area after taking over Star Moon Island.

The interests of both the Tenglong Guard and the Yang Family Trading Company needed the Yang family’s protection.

Otherwise, why would so many forces in the East South Sea Domain willingly give up their interests to the Yang family?

Seven or eight years ago, Yang Zhenshan personally made a trip to Divine Wood Island and even exchanged Martial Arts with the High Priest of Divine Wood Island; otherwise, the merchant ships of Tenglong Guard and Yang Family Trading Company could not have passed through the waters near Divine Wood Island.

Throughout these years, the naval force of Star Moon Island also fought many battles at sea. One could say that the development of Tenglong Guard and Yang Family Trading Company was forged through conflict.

Yang Mingcheng, Yang Mingzhi, and others were also Innate Martial Artists, but their strength wasn’t particularly formidable among Innate Martial Artists, making it inevitable for them to encounter unbeatable adversaries.

If Yang Zhenshan was not present, they could seek assistance from Da Rong and Earth Fire Island.

There is no need to mention Da Rong, as Yang Zhenshan has many old friends there, such as Dao Xuanzhen, An Yuxing, Ji Zhen, Yang Jiushi, Wu Anchou, Zhou Qing, Lu Jin, etc., all of whom he has deep friendships with.

An Yuxing and Ji Zhen might not be able to assist as they need to guard Sanshan Valley and Cui Xia Valley, but it’s completely possible to ask for help from Dao Xuanzhen, Zhou Qing, and others.

As for Earth Fire Island, the Zhu family is the Yang family’s closest ally in the East South Sea Domain, tied not just by interests but also by marriage.

The wife of Yang Mingzhao is Zhu Yaoyuan, the granddaughter of Zhu Changxing, and Yang Wanying was married into the Zhu family, her husband being Zhu Yunping, the great-great-grandson of the elder Zhu.

These two marriages made the relationship between the Yang family and the Zhu family even closer.

Thus, if Star Moon Island ever encounters trouble, they could fully rely on the Zhu family for help.

After briefly discussing the affairs of Star Moon Island, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi left the island by boat the next day.

The two happily went out to play, and the next day after their departure, the landlord’s simple-minded son Yang Mingzhao returned to Star Moon Island with his heart in his throat.

”Dad and Mom are gone?” Yang Mingzhao asked, both shocked and delighted.

”Yeah, they left yesterday!” Yang Mingcheng said.

Yang Mingzhao’s eyes twinkled, ”Big brother, where did they go? When will they be back?”

”I don’t know. Dad said it could be as short as one year, as long as three to five years!” Yang Mingcheng stated.

”Oh, I see!”

Yang Mingzhao was thrilled inside.

With Dad and Mom not at home, hehe~~

”Big brother, you go ahead with your work. I’ll treat you to a drink tonight!”

After saying that, he hurried back to his own courtyard.

In the courtyard, Zhu Yaoyuan of the Zhu family saw Yang Mingzhao return, and her face lit up with joy.

”Husband, you’re back!” Zhu Yaoyuan approached warmly and helped Yang Mingzhao change out of his clothes.

The Zhu family of Earth Fire Island is a very conservative family, with strict family rules and numerous customs, especially towards women, with various rites and teachings that bind them up tight as shackles.

Therefore, daughters of the Zhu family are all very submissive in nature.

When Yang Zhenshan arranged for Yang Mingzhao to marry Zhu Yaoyuan, he thought the daughters of the Zhu family were quite good.

But when the Zhu family wanted to marry a daughter of the Yang family, Yang Zhenshan hesitated for a long time.

An alliance by marriage between the two families was a good thing. Yang Mingzhao and Zhu Yaoyuan were a decent match, but sending his granddaughter to the Zhu family did not feel right to Yang Zhenshan.

The Yang family had fewer rules, and although the daughters of the Yang family varied in temperament, they were generally lively and would certainly not tolerate being bound by so many customs and rites.

For this reason, Yang Zhenshan personally made a trip to Earth Fire Island to meet the eligible younger generation of the Zhu family.

After much hesitation, he finally chose Zhu Yunping, a great-grandson of the Zhu family patriarch.

Zhu Yunping, being the great-grandson of the Zhu family patriarch, was neither the eldest son nor particularly outstanding, but he had a good nature, and most importantly, he did not have to live on the Zhu family’s clan lands and could move out to live on the periphery of Earth Fire Island.

The Zhu family’s clan land had too many rules, and Yang Zhenshan felt neither Wanyi nor Wan Ning would put up with them, so he ended up choosing Zhu Yunping.

In the end, Wanyi took a liking to Zhu Yunping, and the two were married.

The Zhu family were surprised by Yang Zhenshan’s choice, but they didn’t say much in the end. They valued the marital alliance with the Yang family and didn’t care who Yang Zhenshan chose, as long as it wasn’t the heir apparent of the Zhu family.

Now Zhu Yunping is the manager of Dongyang Island, and the young couple lives there, leading a very pleasant life.

”Where are An’er and Qi’er?” Yang Mingzhao was naturally tended to by Zhu Yaoyuan, changing clothes and washing up.

”An’er went to school, and Qi’er has gone to play with Ruoyan!” Zhu Yaoyuan said.

Yang Mingzhao had a son and a daughter; Yang Cheng’an, seven years old this year, was the little fellow taken onto the ship by Yang Zhenshan for most of the day, and Yang Wanqi was three years old, a little girl who loved to play and would always run to Yang Chengzhen’s courtyard.

Yang Chengzhen and Lu Miaotong had long been married, a match that Lu Songhe himself had decided. Without any hitches, the two smoothly tied the knot.

The couple now has two daughters, Yang Ruoyan and Yang Ruoruo, one four years old and the other just two, so Yang Wanqi loved to play with the two sisters the most.

After asking about the situation at home, Yang Mingzhao went to pick up his son and daughter.

As a father, Yang Mingzhao sometimes fell short; he often ran outside and sometimes neglected his children at home.

But he still dearly loved his children and would always play with them whenever he returned.

Yang Mingzhao stayed at home peacefully for three days, then he couldn’t help but start to take action.

Three Arrows Valley lacked everything, but Star Moon Island had it all.

With Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi not at home, there was no one to control him.
