Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 772: Chapter 590 Martial Artist Salary

For the management by the government, the residents of the island were very compliant. Although many actions taken by the government puzzled some residents, they dared not rebel against the Yang family.

The servants of the Yang family need not be mentioned further, as they are most familiar with and understand the Yang family; they are also the primary grassroots management on Star Moon Island.

As for the tenants and common folk who moved from Da Rong, they also held no grievances against the Yang family. The tenants were inherently tenants, and the common people were mainly dominated by the Yang family.

These people of the Yang family are actually just a group of ordinary folk. Although the Yang family has risen for many years, Yang Family Village still has ordinary people.

If they were not ordinary people, they wouldn’t have moved so easily to Star Moon Island.

As for those who migrated, they have long been accustomed to servitude.

Yes, servitude.

The residents Luo Jingsong found were originally slaves of the Star Moon Sect, who couldn’t reside on Star Moon Island before but had to live on impoverished small islands, surviving by farming the barren land and fishing.

They have long been accustomed to servitude, and in the East South Sea Domain, there are many such residents.

In fact, they are quite similar to serfs, enslaved and driven by the force of Martial Artists.

However, now on Star Moon Island, whether they are former slaves of the Yang family or residents relocated from other islands, or members of the Yang family, they are all ordinary people of Star Moon Island.

Of course, if you say they are all servants of the Yang family, that’s not entirely incorrect.

The difference is not significant.

To Yang Zhenshan, ordinary people and servants are the same; these people serve him, whether it is farming or serving as officials or soldiers; they are all serving Yang Zhenshan and the Yang family.

This includes the Luo family and the Zhen family as well.

Definitely, there are no indenture contracts, but the government has compiled the Yellow Book for them.

After the completion of the six departments of the government, Jiang He began to compile the Yellow Book and Fish Scale Book for the island’s residents, then divided the villages and established schools.

It was a hectic two months sorting out the affairs of Star Moon Island.

Meanwhile, Luo Shang and Zhen Yang spent two months setting up the Yang Family Trading Company.

Currently, the Yang Family Trading Company’s business scope primarily revolves around trade, with shops set up in Chongshan Pass, Fuzhou City, Tenglong Guard, several prefectural cities in Jiangnan, and several important towns in Fuhai.

These shops are provided by Luo Shang and the Zhen family, and henceforth are under the Yang Family Trading Company, each shop’s signboard bearing the character ’Yang’.

The shops manage many businesses, including refined salt, glass products, medicinal materials, silk, porcelain, fur, etc.

Luo Shang and Zhen Yang have disposed of all their previous businesses, only keeping some valuable real estate and farmland.

They have planned to move to Star Moon Island and follow the Yang family to the end.

As a result, the amount of silver coins they hold is somewhat frightening.

A large amount of silver was transported to Star Moon Island, filling up two large warehouses completely.

That day, Yang Zhenshan was invited over by the two, and upon seeing the silver in the two warehouses, he was somewhat baffled.

”Are you showing off your wealth to this old man?” Yang Zhenshan looked strangely at Zhen Yang and Luo Shang.

Look at what’s inside this warehouse, boxes of gold and silver, and various precious jewels and jades.

”Eh, no, it’s just, how should we deal with so much silver?” Luo Shang said somewhat sheepishly.

Yang Zhenshan was also baffled. How to deal with it?

What the heck, he didn’t have a clue.

He already had millions of taels of silver lying inside his Spiritual Spring Space; he didn’t even know what to do with it.

”How much silver is here?” Yang Zhenshan said with a bit of a headache.

Luo Shang said, ”Our Luo family has brought a total of 320,000 taels of gold and 5,680,000 taels of silver; as for the other jewels and jade, the number is too large, we haven’t yet measured them!”

Zhen Yang said, ”Our Zhen family has a little less, only 230,000 taels of gold and 3,750,000 taels of silver!”

”What do you mean this time? Is there a next time?” Yang Zhenshan was somewhat dumbfounded looking at the two.

Luo Shang replied, ”There are still some difficult family businesses to dispose of, if all were disposed of, probably about half of what’s here!”

Zhen Yang also nodded, ”Our Zhen family is about the same.”

What’s called a wealthy merchant?

Is this what wealthy merchants are?

Yang Zhenshan knew the Luo family was wealthy, but he genuinely didn’t expect the Luo family to be wealthy to this extent.

It could literally be described as wealth that rivals the state!

”You really know how to make money!” Yang Zhenshan could only sigh so.

”Mainly because the profit from glass is very high,” Luo Shang said.

Yang Zhenshan laughed, ”Good thing you left Da Rong!”

The two were puzzled.

”If you stayed in Da Rong, sooner or later you would be slaughtered like fat pigs!” Yang Zhenshan laughed and shook his head.

He wasn’t kidding.

Once the court is short of money, it inevitable resorts to targeting wealthy merchants.

One Luo family alone could bring out ten million taels of silver, what concept is that?

Just by raiding the Luo family, the court’s finances could take a breather.

Luo Shang and Zhen Yang exchanged a look and nodded deeply, finding it reasonable.

Their willingness to follow Yang Zhenshan to the bitter end also had this reason.

Sometimes being too wealthy is indeed a sin.

Wealth moves hearts!

Over the years, countless people have coveted their wealth, but only because of the protection of the Yang family, those people dare not act recklessly.

If it weren’t for the Yang family, perhaps they would have been devoured without leaving any remains.

”Island Master, how should these gold and silver be handled?” Luo Shang asked again.
