Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 758: Chapter 583 Worldly Society Rules

After the banquet, Yang Zhenshan returned to the General Mansion’s back courtyard.

Although the court had sent the appointment, Zhou Lan had not yet taken up the post, and thus Tang Feihu had not moved into the back courtyard of the General Mansion, so the Yang family members were still staying there.

Yu Qingyi helped Yang Zhenshan change into a set of loose clothing and asked, ”How is it?”

”Not good. Zhang Zhcheng is not a submissive person. Tang Feihu will certainly clash with him!” Yang Zhenshan said while wiping his face.

Yu Qingyi’s brows slightly furrowed, ”Could this cause turmoil in Chongshan Town?”

Yang Zhenshan took the tea handed over by Qingxia and smiled, ”Don’t worry, I’ll arrange everything. No matter how they fight, it won’t affect the stability of Chongshan Town.”

”That’s the bottom line. If someone crosses it, I’ll make them leave Chongshan Town!”

Emperor Yanping might disregard the stability of Chongshan Town and boldly relocate the town’s officials, but Yang Zhenshan couldn’t ignore it as Chongshan Town is still the Yang family’s base, and he absolutely couldn’t tolerate anyone causing trouble there.

Whether it’s Tang Feihu or Zhang Zhcheng, whoever touches his bottom line, he will drive them out of Chongshan Town.

Yu Qingyi felt relieved and then asked, ”Are you planning to keep Chengye in Chongshan Town?”

”Yes, he should also get some training!” Yang Zhenshan said.

Yu Qingyi said, ”Should we leave some guards for him?”

Yang Zhenshan replied, ”You arrange it tomorrow, leave a team of guards for him!”

Chengye did have guards, but only four. Besides these guards, Chengye also had two attendants, Da Fu and Da Gui.

”What about Mrs. Yu? Should we let her come to Chongshan Town too?” Yu Qingyi asked.

Yang Zhenshan was somewhat scratching his head; separating a young couple was definitely inappropriate, but if Mrs. Yu came to Chongshan Town, then would his great-grandson and great-granddaughter also have to come?

”Let her come over. Ruochen can follow along. As for Qinyuan, let’s leave him in the Capital City!”

Yang Qinyuan is his great-grandson, already five years old this year, and should be able to leave his mother.

Yang Ruochen is not yet three years old; better to let Mrs. Yu take care of him personally.

Yu Qingyi sighed softly, ”It really is troublesome.”

With this arrangement, the Yang family was even more dispersed. Yang Mingzhi would go to Beiyuan Town, Yang Minghao to Fuzhou City, and Yang Chengye would stay in Chongshan Pass.

”It’s not a big trouble. Wait a few years, and let Mingzhi and Minghao both resign from their posts,” Yang Zhenshan consoled.

”Why resign?” Yu Qingyi asked.

Yang Zhenshan did not explain but simply said, ”After we return to the Capital, we’ll go to Star Moon Island first to arrange things there!”

Yu Qingyi asked, ”Do you want to separate from Da Rong?”

Yang Zhenshan shook his head, ”We can’t detach from Da Rong. I just want to stay away from the court.”

The Yang family can’t detach from Da Rong— apart from the fact that many of the Yang family members work as officials in Da Rong, the descendants of the Yang family can’t detach from the Yang either.

Besides the Yang Family itself, Yang Zhenshan has too many ties in Da Rong such as Chongshan Town, Tenglong Guard, Martial Arts Pavilion, etc., all of which are bonds he cannot sever.

As the strength of the Yang family grows stronger, Da Rong will inevitably be unable to accommodate the Yang family in the future, so Yang Zhenshan needs to prepare ahead of time.

Unable to leave Da Rong yet unable to stay, staying overseas is undoubtedly the best choice.

Yang Zhenshan had already thought it through; he would retain the Yang family’s titles and let the Yang family’s descendants serve as officials in Da Rong, but once they reach the Innate Realm, they must resign and leave Da Rong to reside on Star Moon Island.

Now the relationship between Da Rong and the Yang family is that of monarch and subjects, but in the future, the relationship might become one of mutual dependence, where the Yang family maintains a certain independence without completely detaching from Da Rong.

This could be seen as the Yang family being affiliated with Da Rong.

Of course, these are just Yang Zhenshan’s own thoughts, and the actual outcome will depend on Emperor Yanping’s perspective.

Reaching such an understanding is not easy.

Currently, Emperor Yanping doesn’t see the Yang family as a threat, but that might not be the case in the future.

As for the future new monarch, who is now the Crown Prince Chen Zhaojun.

To be honest, although Yang Zhenshan is Chen Zhaojun’s mentor, Chen Zhaojun isn’t very close to Yang Zhenshan.

It’s not that they aren’t close, but at the very least, among all the courtiers in the court, Chen Zhaojun is the closest to Yang Zhenshan.

But an emperor is still an emperor. Now he’s only the Crown Prince, but his thinking has already leaned towards that of an emperor.

It’s probably that in the heart of Chen Zhaojun, Yang Zhenshan is both a mentor and a subject.

In comparison, Prince Dai, Chen Zhaoxuan is much simpler, greatly respecting Yang Zhenshan, and essentially being a big fan of Yang Zhenshan.

Currently, the Yang family in Da Rong is relatively stable, but this stability won’t last much longer.

Once Yang Mingcheng, Yang Mingzhi, Yang Minghao, Ding Qiu, Luo Jingsong, Wu Zhan, Wu Zheng, and others consecutively become Innate Martial Artists, this stability will surely be disrupted.

”Sigh, we can’t stay in Da Rong for long, at most five or six years!” Yang Zhenshan also felt somewhat helpless.

Sometimes being too strong is also a sin.

Yu Qingyi, however, didn’t mind these matters and smiled, ”Why worry, lord? The worldly society has its own rules, as long as we leave Da Rong, what can His Majesty do to us?”

Yang Zhenshan raised an eyebrow, ”The rules of the worldly society?”

Yu Qingyi gave a slight nod, ”Indeed, even the court has to respect the rules of the worldly society, and so do the Innate Martial Artists.”

Yang Zhenshan’s eyes lit up, and then he realized, ”Hahaha, I was indeed overthinking!”

”It’s not that you were overthinking, lord. It’s just that you’ve been in the court for so long and don’t understand the thinking of those from the worldly society!” Yu Qingyi said.
