Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 769: Chapter 588 From now on, we are the masters of Star Moon Island! _2

Yang Zhenshan laughed and said, ”Not much difference, just different names!”

”Then as you wish!” Yu Qingyi said nonchalantly.

”Haha, then from now on, I, the old man, am the Island Master of Star Moon Island, haha~” Yang Zhenshan laughed.

He really liked Star Moon Island—owning an island was something to be happy about indeed.

”In the future, our Star Moon Island in the East South Sea Domain will also be a major force!” Luo Jingsong said energetically.

When Yang Zhenshan was not on Star Moon Island, he always felt a bit uneasy when facing the powerful forces in the East South Sea Domain.

Now that Yang Zhenshan had arrived, he believed that Star Moon Island had great potential.

The situation in the East South Sea Domain was very complicated. Officially, there was only one dynasty in the East South Sea Domain, the Lv Sheng Dynasty, and two major forces, Earth Fire Island and Divine Wood Island. But in reality, the East South Sea Domain’s forces were far more numerous than that.

The so-called East South Sea Domain referred to the sea area to the southeast of Great Rong, a name used by Great Rong. In fact, the southeastern sea area of Great Rong was vast and contained countless islands, each with its own power, and even a large continent further south in the East South Sea Domain.

Whether it was the previously destroyed Star Moon Sect or the Lv Sheng Dynasty, they were actually just forces that were close to Great Rong.

Luo Jingsong wanted to turn Star Moon Island into a major power, but Yang Zhenshan didn’t have much ambition; he just wanted a place to settle down freely.

Free and unrestrained, not bound by monarchs or ministers, not troubled by court affairs, not wasting time and energy on all sorts of messy matters, finding a peaceful place facing the sea with blossoming spring.

This was what Yang Zhenshan truly desired.

Ahead, the outline of Star Moon Island had appeared in Yang Zhenshan’s view.

Gradually, Yang Zhenshan could see the houses and fields on the island clearly.

The fields on Star Moon Island were still lush and verdant.

The climate of Star Moon Island was likely subtropical monsoon climate. In winter, influenced by cold air from Great Rong with prevailing northwest monsoon, but moderated by the warm current moving northward from the sea. In summer, influenced by the high pressure from the tropics in the south with prevailing southeast monsoon.

Long summers and short winters, neither extreme heat nor snowy cold, with high precipitation in summer, making it very suitable for rice cultivation, and capable of growing two seasons of rice annually.

It was now the end of September, and the second season of rice on Star Moon Island had not yet begun to head, appearing lush and vibrant.

”How has the island’s weather been this year?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”Not too bad, the three mountains on the island have blocked many of the storms coming from the sea!” Luo Jingsong replied.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, the geography of Star Moon Island was very suitable for living, with the summer temperatures not too high, probably just over thirty degrees at their peak, and the winter temperatures not too low, likely above ten degrees.

The eastern mountains of the island also formed a barrier for the west, effectively blocking storms from the southeast.

The only downside might be the slightly higher rainfall in the summer.

The Da Fu Ship soon arrived at the dock, and the ship slowly docked. Yang Zhenshan walked down the ship with Yu Qingyi at a leisurely pace.

On the dock, Luo Shang, Zhen Yang, and Lv Xinghe were already waiting.

Upon seeing Yang Zhenshan disembark, the three hurriedly bowed and said, ”Welcome, Old Marquis!”

Yang Zhenshan laughed and said, ”From now on, call me the Island Master. From now on, I am the master of this Star Moon Island!”

The trio smiled upon hearing this and bowed again, saying, ”Greetings, Island Master!”

”Mm, very good, have you all settled in?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

Luo Shang stepped forward and said, ”Manager Luo has arranged residences for us, and we have all settled in!”

Yang Zhenshan looked up towards the city behind the dock.

”Well then, let’s leave it at that for today. I’ll go see the mansion first!”

With that, Luo Jingsong led the Yang family members into the dock and toward the city.

The city was not large; in Great Rong, it was about the size of a county city, only about ten miles in circumference with city walls only around four meters high—quite ordinary, nothing special.

Actually, Yang Zhenshan didn’t understand why Star Moon Sect built such a city wall at all, as it was meaningless.

If enemies attacked the island, this city wall couldn’t stop them.

”When I have time later, I’ll have this city wall torn down, it’s an eyesore!” said Yang Zhenshan capriciously.

This wall didn’t block outsiders, but rather, the island’s residents.

If the islanders wanted to enter the city, they had to go through the city gate, which was so troublesome!

”Yes,” agreed Luo Jingsong.

There were many residences inside the city, originally belonging to the high-ranking members of the Star Moon Sect, and the residence arranged for the Yang family by Luo Jingsong was the former residence of the Yue family.

Compared to the Marquis Mansion in Great Rong Capital, this residence was much smaller, but the scenery was very pleasant, lush and vibrant everywhere you looked.

Front courtyard and back residence, with courtyards on the left and right, most buildings were mainly made of wood, there were pavilions and towers, just a bit small.

”If the Island Master finds this courtyard too small, we can open up the courtyards on both sides!”

”These three sets of courtyards are about the same size, they were formerly the residences owned by the Yue family, the Nan family, and the Qu family, now they are all vacant.”

”To the west, there are four sets of residences, previously owned by the Middle Four Families, to the east, there are eight small courtyards, previously owned by the lower eight families,” Luo Jingsong explained.

The general layout of this city placed residential areas to the north, which used to house high-ranking members of the Star Moon Sect; many Star Moon Sect families lived here, but actually, their main living areas were not in the city but in the villages on the island.

Residences in the city were mainly for high-ranking members, so each residence was not very large.

The middle part was Star Moon Sect’s main hall, including the main government office, various warehouses, etc., while the south part was the commercial district, with about thirty shops and a market, where island residents conducted trade.

”For now, let’s leave it at that, you go arrange for the others, we can have Wang Jing handle things here!” Yang Zhenshan said.

There were quite a few people who came with Yang Zhenshan this time, as many as four to five hundred, arranging accommodations for so many people would definitely take some time.

Wang Jing was originally a disciple of Sky Blue Sword Sect and now also a guard for the Yang family. Previously, Yang Zhenshan left one hundred guards on Star Moon Island, and Wang Jing was one of them.

Wang Jing was not very old, still not forty yet, but he had already achieved the Postnatal Ninth Layer of cultivation.

Luo Jingsong excused himself, and Wang Jing helped arrange matters in the residence.

Lu Shou came along as well, he was still the Yang family’s chief steward, and as for the Capital Marquis Mansion, Wu Dashun, who used to accompany Yang Mingcheng, naturally became the chief steward.

Lu Shou was responsible for the front courtyard, and Qingxia handled the back courtyard, and soon the accommodations for the members of the Yang family were arranged.

Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi, of course, still lived in the main courtyard, just that this main courtyard was a bit smaller.

”There are too few wing rooms; even to use them as storage is insufficient!” Yu Qingyi arranged things, went into the hall and said.

The main courtyard here had no distinction between the front hall and back hall; there was just one hall house, on the east side of which were the inner and outer rooms, the living quarters for Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi; to the west side was a study and a tea room.

There were only four rooms in the east and west wing rooms and two more in the adjoining rooms.

”We can put some unimportant items in the front courtyard!” Yang Zhenshan looked around and commented indifferently.

They had brought many things, but the truly important items were all in the Spiritual Spring Space.

The items obtained from Yemi City, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi took more than ten days to sort out, and now those items were still placed on the slope in the Spiritual Spring Space.

Yu Qingyi also took a look around the room decor, actually the decorations in the room were quite nice, with furniture all made of pearwood, and draperies of brocade and silk, and various items resembled those found in Great Rong.

Although this place wasn’t Great Rong, the living habits here on Star Moon Island were quite similar to those of Great Rong.

Similar to Capital City yet more aligned with Jiangnan of Great Rong.

Island resources might not be very abundant, but it definitely would not fall short for Yang Zhenshan.

Luo Jingsong had arranged everything properly, nothing was lacking here, even essentials like firewood, rice, oil, salt, stationery, paper, and ink were all readily available.
