Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 780: Chapter 594: The Chaotic Da Rong Court

”Thank goodness for longevity, so the children won’t be troubled!” Qingyi said with a smile.

Yang Zhenshan glanced at her, ”Your words sound prematurely old; we’re still young!”

Hearing this, Qingyi instantly beamed with joy, ”That’s right, we are still young!”

”Is it Mingcheng who wants to come to Star Moon Island?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”Yes, I guess so. He went back to Yang Family Village for the New Year, and now he’s back in the Capital City. He probably can’t stay put there!” Qingyi said.

”What happened? Is there trouble in the Capital City?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”He didn’t say in his letter, but he mentioned that Yang Zhengxiang’s health is not very good!” Qingyi said.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly.

After the New Year’s festivities, the court was indeed tumultuous.

During the early February court session, Emperor Yanping was furious, dismissing a cabinet minister and a Chief of Staff, and imprisoning several high officials, just because of issues concerning disaster relief.

The first Governor for the five provinces’ disaster relief only served three months before being dismissed and imprisoned. The second appointment was Qi Maoyang, the Right Imperial Censor from the Imperial Examination Hall, who faced impeachment from many officials even before he left the Capital City.

In any case, the court is currently in great disturbance.

But all this was unknown to Yang Zhenshan, not that he was uninterested in court affairs, but living on Star Moon Island, news traveled extremely slow, generally taking two months after incidents occur before he would hear of them.

And now, he simply did not want to bother with court affairs, even if he received news, he felt too lazy to take it to heart.

”How is the old Clan Leader’s health?” Yang Zhenshan was still somewhat concerned about Yang Zhengxiang’s health.

Qingyi said: ”Mingcheng said the old Clan Leader fears his days are numbered!”

Yang Zhenshan ate his meal in silence.

Yang Zhengxiang was already seventy-six this year, even as a Martial Artist, he was quite elderly.

Actually, with Yang Zhengxiang’s prior health, he would not have been expected to live to such an age, but these years Yang Zhenshan had sent him plenty of alcohol and tea leaves, allowing him to live until now.

After the meal, Yang Zhenshan went to his study to write a letter for Yang Mingcheng. Should Yang Zhengxiang pass away, he would have him represent him to offer condolences back home.

He himself did not plan to return; birth, aging, sickness, and death are natural human conditions, and he was now accustomed to them.

Lu Songhe, Mr. Lu, Liu Yuanfu, Xu Jin, and other acquaintances had all passed away, Yang Zhengxiang’s passing was only a matter of time, his return would be pointless.

In the afternoon, Yang Zhenshan went into the Spiritual Spring Space to keep busy, but he wasn’t busy for long before Lu Shou came to report: ”Island Master, the Third Master from the Zhu family on Earth Fire Island has come to see you!”

”The Zhu family? Which Zhu family?” Yang Zhenshan asked perplexedly.

Are there any Zhu families on Star Moon Island?

I don’t think so!

Lu Shou replied: ”The Zhu family from Earth Fire Island!”

Yang Zhenshan then recalled, the Zhu family from Earth Fire Island was the Tenglong Guard’s most important partnership in the East South Sea Domain, also currently a friendly force with the Yang family on Star Moon Island.

However, these matters were previously handled by Luo Jingsong; Yang Zhenshan had never inquired.

Yang Zhenshan was initially thinking, when he felt like going out for a stroll, he could take the opportunity to visit the Zhu family, not expecting them to come beforehand.

Arriving in the main hall, Yang Zhenshan warmly greeted: ”Brother Zhu gracing us with your presence, my apologies for not greeting you from afar, hahaha!!”

Zhu Changxing bowed in salute, ”Mr. Yang taking over Star Moon Island, I am here on behalf of the Zhu family to congratulate Mr. Yang!”

”Hehe, Brother Zhu, you are too kind, please have a seat, make yourself comfortable!” Yang Zhenshan invited Zhu Changxing to sit down for tea.

Regarding Earth Fire Island and the Zhu family, Yang Zhenshan was quite clear.

Because both Lv Xinghe and Luo Jingsong held comprehensive understanding about them.

Located three hundred li south of Star Moon Island, Earth Fire Island is several times bigger than Star Moon Island, named so due to an active volcano on the island.

The volcano constantly rages with molten lava, and the Zhu family uses this boiling geothermal to forge weapons.

The Zhu family is a well-known forging clan in the East South Sea Domain, their forged blades are sought after by Martial Arts Masters, thus the Zhu family has become a manufacturer of high-end weapons in the East South Sea Domain.

Moreover, Earth Fire Island also produces various precious ores, and the Zhu family’s Earthfire Steel is also a unique specialty.

Weapons crafted from Earthfire Steel are exceptionally durable, a high-quality forging material.

Yang Zhenshan speculated that this Earthfire Steel must contain a special component in the volcano’s lava, which allows the Zhu family’s steel to possess such high hardness.

Thinking of Earthfire Steel, Yang Zhenshan could not help but be tempted.

After the formalities were over, he asked: ”I heard that Earth Fire Island abundantly produces Earthfire Steel, would Brother Zhu be able to sell us a batch of weapons forged from Earthfire Steel?”

Weapons forged with Earthfire Steel are suitable for Martial Arts Masters use, suitable for the Postnatal Ninth Layer, Half-step Innate, and even Innate Martial Artists.

The density and heaviness of Earthfire Steel might feel cumbersome to average martial artists, but Martial Arts Masters find it quite fitting.

”Of course! How many does Mr. Yang need?” Zhu Changxing agreed without hesitation.

”Three hundred of each: spears, large knives, and longswords, how about that?” Yang Zhenshan said.

How could a Martial Arts Force not stock up a batch of superior weapons?

Zhu Changxing looked astoundingly at Yang Zhenshan, ”That’s a lot, Mr. Yang, it’s not that I want to refuse, but it’s just too much!”

”Too much? Apologies, I haven’t been in the East South Sea Domain for long and am not very familiar with the situation here!” Yang Zhenshan said.

But his words were outright lies; he might not have known about the East South Sea Domain situation before, but he was now very well-informed about many forces in the East South Sea Domain.
