Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 742: Chapter 575: Encirclement Hunt

They raced for two hours straight until the sky grew dim before they began to cook meals on the spot.

At night, soldiers took turns to keep watch, and Scouts spread out over a dozen miles.

They did not set up camp because they did not carry tents, and they did not have enough time to do so.

They laid out fur pelts and slept in their Iron Armor on the grassland; it was not cold, just slightly damp. Especially in the morning when fog formed, a layer of dew would condense on their Iron Armor.

Such a forced march was truly grueling, unbearable for ordinary people; only Martial Artists could endure it for a bit longer.

The next morning, after they finished eating, they again set out toward the Kerelie Tribe’s banner territory.

However, by this time, the Kerelie Tribe’s banner territory had already received news and knew they had entered their lands.

The banner land of the Kerelie Tribe was called Bayandelei City, which means a land of riches.

Naming this city that was not a mistake, as the Kerelie Tribe’s banner land was truly a land of riches.

The riches were not only in the grasslands but also in a range of mines.

West of Bayandelei City was a massive Jade vein that produced the delicate and warm mutton-fat white jade.

The mutton-fat white jade from the Kerelie Tribe was very popular among the nobles and scholars of Great Rong, where a pair of high-quality mutton-fat white jade bracelets could sell for over a thousand taels of Silver in the Great Rong Capital.

Thus, the Kerelie Tribe was indeed guarding a treasure mountain, and Bayandelei City was truly a land of wealth.

At that time, a few clan elders of the Kerelie Tribe were in charge of affairs in Bayandelei City, as the Banner Master Er Yao had already led troops south to plunder Beiyuan Town.

A young and strong man who had escaped from the Zichijin clan arrived at Bayandelei City day and night, uttering just one sentence before fainting.

But this one sentence was enough to inform the clan elders of the Kerelie Tribe that Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze’s forces had entered their territory.

The four elders were gathered together, discussing how to deal with these suddenly appearing enemies.

”The enemy forces are charging at us, they must be weary and their horses tired. We should immediately recruit young and strong men to strike!”

”No, we don’t even know how many enemies have come; what if there are twenty to thirty thousand? How many young and strong can we recruit in such a short time?”

”Moreover, recruiting young and strong at this time, if those clans encounter attacks from the enemy, won’t they resent us?”

”There are also Innate Martial Artists among the enemy forces; if there are, rashly attacking will only lead to greater losses!”

”Are we just going to do nothing and let those Rong dogs brutally slaughter our people?”

”Perhaps we should send a message to all groups to prepare their defenses. Even if this does not stop the enemy’s attack, it’s better than being attacked unawares!”

”This proposal is good. Although we can’t recruit young and strong from other clans, we still have many within our banner territory. We can dispatch Cavalry to keep an eye on the enemy!”

The elders argued for a long time and finally decided to stay within Bayandelei City for the time being and send some light Cavalry Scouts to keep watch on the enemy.

But before they could send out the light Cavalry Scouts, Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze had already led the army near Bayandelei City.

Tens of thousands of Cavalry came imposingly, leaving bloodshed wherever they passed.

As a banner land of the Kerelie Tribe, Bayandelei City had many small clans settled around it, similar to villages surrounding a city. Most of these small clans were branches of the Kerelie Tribe. Some were in charge of agriculture, some of mining, and others of felling trees, etc.

A city with tens of thousands of people necessarily requires a large number of villages to supply various materials.

The simplest is food; the city’s residents could neither farm nor herd, thus requiring the suburban residents to farm and herd to provide food for the city’s residents.

Bayandelei City was no exception; it was surrounded by many supporting villages.

And these villages, without walls to protect them, were very susceptible to attacks from the Cavalry of the left and right camps.

Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze divided the troops into four groups, rampaging as they came, leaving corpses everywhere.

They not only slaughtered but also pillaged various supplies.

Of course, they did not want gold or silver; they only wanted essentials such as grain, salt, dried meat, and furs.

The discipline at Chongshan Town Camp was strict; they took only what was ordered, with no one tempted by wealth. The soldiers knew clearly that carrying gold and silver at this time was just a burden.

Boom~~

Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze, along with thousands of Cavaliers, arrived at the premises of Bayandelei City, observing the massive city from a distance of two to three miles.

”Such a city is simply not something that can be captured quickly!” Yang Mingzhen, observing the city with a telescope, said helplessly.

Yang Chengze grinned, ”No need to capture it, they’ve been scared enough already!”

On the city walls, the soldiers and young men of the Kerelie Tribe were already in disarray. The four elders walked up to the city wall, gazing at Yang Mingzhen and Yang Chengze below.

Yang Mingzhen also noticed them, ”There are four old fellows; I wonder how strong they are?”

They were wary of the experts within the city, just as the Kerelie Tribe’s four elders feared the existence of Innate Martial Artists among the troops outside.

Even though Innate Martial Artists couldn’t fight against tens of thousands alone, they could still play a decisive role in a battle.

In the midst of tens of thousands of troops, taking the enemy leader’s head!

That is something Innate Martial Artists can do.
