Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 731: Chapter 570: Unable to Destroy Wuliang Royal Court_2

Yang Zhenshan remained silent, Luo Feiyu hesitated for a moment, then took out some Three Yellow Plums to eat.

A short while later, Yang Zhenshan spoke again, ”The Sky Blue Sword Sect has developed well over the years, but it’s still not enough. After this battle, I will transfer you to the East Road, by then you should take more care of the Sky Blue Sword Sect!”

In fact, the Sky Blue Sword Sect has developed very well in recent years, with nearly five hundred disciples, it is a second-rate sect.

And many disciples of the Sky Blue Sword Sect hold positions in Chongshan Town and the far-reaching Martial Arts Department.

However, the Sky Blue Sword Sect still has a large gap compared with first-rate sects, the biggest gap being the lack of Innate Martial Artists.

This gap might take another decade or two to close.

There’s no helping it, the foundation of the Sky Blue Sword Sect is still too weak, even with Yang Zhenshan’s support, it’s difficult to cultivate an Innate Martial Artist in a short period.

The older generation of the Sky Blue Sword Sect has mostly passed away, of the four elders from those days, now only Hua Jinqiu, the Sect Leader, remains, and she is already over sixty years old. She will not be able to become an Innate Martial Artist in her lifetime, as her cultivation is currently at the Postnatal Eighth Layer.

With old age and deteriorating health, she no longer has the opportunity to break through to the Postnatal Ninth Layer, and without reaching the Postnatal Ninth Layer, it’s impossible to condense Innate True Qi.

Even consuming Three Yellow Plums and Jade Dew Spirit Peaches won’t help.

Neither can Spiritual Spring Water do the trick; at most it can nourish her body, prolonging her life but unable to enhance her cultivation level.

Therefore, if the Sky Blue Sword Sect wants to cultivate an Innate Martial Artist, it can only rely on the next generation, but the two most outstanding individuals of the next generation have already left the Sky Blue Sword Sect, namely Yu Qingyi and Luo Feiyu.

Luo Feiyu felt something was amiss. After finishing the Three Yellow Plums, he asked, ”Brother-in-law, is there some trouble?”

Yang Zhenshan slightly shook his head, ”No trouble for the time being, but it could be different in the future. Just making some early preparations!”

Luo Feiyu nodded, ”That’s good. After this battle, going to the East Road works too, it would be a good opportunity to be free and strive to reach the Innate Realm as soon as possible.”

Compared to serving in the West Road Dinghu Guard, serving in the East Road Songzhou Guard would undoubtedly be more leisurely.

”Give me the pit.” Yang Zhenshan asked for the pit of the Three Yellow Plums back.

Luo Feiyu felt the changes in his Jin Qi within his body and asked, ”Are we going to annihilate the Wuliang Royal Court this time?”

Yang Zhenshan fell silent for a moment, ”No, we cannot annihilate the Wuliang Royal Court, but Wu Tuo must die!”

”Why?” Luo Feiyu inquired.

Yang Zhenshan looked towards the verdant sea to the north and slowly uttered four words.

”Nurturing a rival for strength!”

Luo Feiyu was initially startled, then fell into silence.

Nurturing a rival for strength seems not a good thing, but from the interests of Chongshan Town, they had no choice but to do so.

If the Wuliang Royal Court was annihilated, would Chongshan Town still need to exist?

To the north of Chongshan Town lies the snowy plains, where the population is exceedingly sparse, and apart from some Church Members controlled by the Spiritual Grace Holy Sect, there are no other forces.

Of course, this is only to say about the snowy plains to the north of Chongshan Town; to the north of the Wuliang Hu Clan’s territory, there are some barbarian tribes in the snowy plains and some hidden forces known to few.

But the strength of those forces is not very formidable.

Simply put, there are no enemies to the north of Chongshan Town; the only enemy that Chongshan Town now has is the Wuliang Royal Court.

But once the Wuliang Royal Court is destroyed, then Chongshan Town will truly have no enemies left.

By then, the court might abolish Chongshan Town and change the garrison into a prefecture and county, dividing Chongshan Town into two provinces.

And once the court does that, what will become of the soldiers of Chongshan Town?

What will happen to the foundations of the Yang family, the Yang Family in Chongshan Town?

Therefore, Yang Zhenshan currently does not plan to annihilate the Wuliang Royal Court; however, he will not let Wu Tuo go, as Wu Tuo must answer for the death of Pang Tang.

...

In early May, a continuous stream of grain and supplies arrived at Dinghu Guard from Chongshan Town, and at the same time, Assistant Generals from various routes also gathered at Dinghu Guard.

Suddenly, just outside Dinghu Guard City, camps stretched over ten miles, hosting over seventy thousand soldiers.

Such a large-scale mobilization of troops from Chongshan Town could not be concealed from the Wula Tribe, and Luo Feiyu had been keeping an eye on the Wula Tribe, while the Wula Tribe also kept an eye on Dinghu Guard.

In the territory of Wula Clan, east of Menghe Mountain, west of Sari Lake.

The Banner Master of the Wula Clan, Xuan Ting, sat in the hall with a solemn expression, surrounded by a few elders of the Wula Clan.

The Wula Clan originally belonged to the East Sea Hu Clan and is now under the Wuliang Royal Court.

Xuan Ting was granted the title of Wula King by the Wuliang Royal Court, thus the Wula Clan became the Wula Tribe.

The Wula Tribe is different from the Wula Clan; the Wula Clan represents a surname, a single tribe, while the Wula Tribe includes not only the Wula Clan but also a dozen or so large and small tribes.

Before allegiance to the Wuliang Royal Court, the Wula Clan had only more than eighty thousand people. After serving the Wuliang Royal Court, the Wula Clan had a steady growth for over ten years, and now the number of people had exceeded one hundred thousand.

In addition to the members of the Wula Clan, the Wula Tribe also has about fifty thousand people from small and medium-sized tribes.

Therefore, Xuan Ting now controls a population of over one hundred and fifty thousand.

With universal conscription, if Xuan Ting was ruthless, he could fully draft thirty to forty thousand able-bodied men as soldiers.

But in reality, the Wula Clan only has three thousand elite warriors and five thousand trained Northern barbarian horsemen.

As for the able-bodied men, they are actually just herdsmen, each of them with exceptional riding skills, but when it comes to combat ability, it’s just so-so.

Compared to the powerful and well-equipped Chongshan Town, the Wula Tribe just doesn’t measure up.

”Let’s all voice our opinions; how should we face the great army of Chongshan Town?” Xuan Ting looked around at the tribes present and asked.
