Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 730: Chapter 570 Cannot Destroy the Wuliang Royal Court

After clarifying the attack plan, Yang Zhenshan handed over Chongshan Pass to Zhou Lan, who had recovered somewhat, at the end of April, and personally led the vanguard, rearguard, and middle camps to Dinghu Guard.

At the same time, he ordered Assistant General Zhang Chengzhi from the East Road Songzhou Guard, Assistant General Niu Zhuang from the Central Road Jianning Guard, Assistant General Tang Feihu from the Central Road Jinzhou Guard, Assistant General Qin He from the Southern Road Dingliao Guard, Assistant General Yang Mingzhi from the Northern Road Fuzhou Guard, and Assistant General Yang Mingwu from the Northern Road Black Mountain Guard to lead their elite soldiers to converge at Dinghu Guard.

The vanguard, middle, and rearguard camps, in addition to the previously allocated warhorses, also brought along an extra thirty thousand warhorses. They raced along the way, fiery and swift, and covered over four hundred miles in just three days, arriving at Dinghu Guard.

The Guard City of Dinghu Guard is located at Guanshan Pass, which is not only the site of the Guard City of Dinghu Guard but also the headquarters of the Assistant General Mansion.

Within the valley south of Guanshan Pass, a large amount of fertile farmland has been cultivated for the military households of Dinghu Guard to farm, while the north side of Guanshan Pass is covered in vast grasslands and barracks.

Standing atop the western peak of Guanshan Pass and looking northward, one can see a line of beacon towers extending to the northeast.

The bastions under the jurisdiction of the Assistant General Mansion of West Road Dinghu Guard are these beacon towers.

These bastions stretch across vast grasslands, and along the north’s several rivers, four Guard Cities have been built. The Guard Cities and bastions are connected, forming a semi-circular control line all the way to the bastions under the jurisdiction of the Assistant General Mansion of Northern Road Black Cloud Guard, establishing a half-curve control line.

The area east of the control line is under the control of Chongshan Town, while the west and north of the control line are not under actual control by Chongshan Town.

In fact, west and north of the control line are large grasslands, very fertile but Chongshan Town is unable to assimilate such a vast territory in a short time and can only gradually encroach upon it.

According to Yang Zhenshan’s plan and Zhou Lan’s implementation, Dinghu Guard is currently extending westward along the two northern rivers. If nothing unexpected occurs, within three years, the garrisons under the administration of Dinghu Guard General will extend to the territory of the Wula Tribe.

Building so many garrisons and bastions serves not only for cultivating and raising horses but also for the convenience of storing grain and deploying troops.

Connected garrisons and bastions mean connected roads, allowing reinforcements to be sent immediately from the rear should the frontier bastions come under attack.

Furthermore, if one were to campaign against the Wuliang Hu Clan, these garrisons and bastions could ensure the security of the logistic lines.

Otherwise, protecting transport lines on the vast grassland would be extremely difficult.

Atop the mountain, Yang Zhenshan and Luo Feiyu stood together, gazing towards the North.

”Where is the frontmost bastion?” asked Yang Zhenshan.

Pointing northward, Luo Feiyu replied, ”About three hundred miles from Dinghu Guard, off towards the northwest, built along Blue Water River, the garrisons and bastions are all on the southern bank of Blue Water River!”

Yang Zhenshan then asked, ”And how far are they from the Wula Tribe?”

Luo Feiyu said, ”The Wula Tribe’s territory doesn’t have a specific boundary, but a hundred miles west from there are the smaller clans under the Wula Tribe’s command active!”

”The Wula Tribe’s main ground is about three hundred miles further on, located east of Menghe Mountain, where there’s a lake called Sari Lake.”

”The main ground of the Wula Tribe is south of Sari Lake!”

”This Wula Tribe isn’t good at farming; if they could farm, then the land around Sari Lake could also be cultivated into a large amount of fertile land! It could support a hundred thousand people without any problem.”

”If we were to take control of Sari Lake, we could actually set up a garrison there.”

Yang Zhenshan shook his head, ”It’s too far. We haven’t even assimilated the North, how could we take over Sari Lake?”

Luo Feiyu chuckled and said, ”I’ve been to Sari Lake!”

”Hmm?” Yang Zhenshan turned to look at him, asking, ”When did you go?”

Luo Feiyu replied, ”Just over a year ago. I took a few personal followers, herding some cattle and sheep!”

”Weren’t you discovered?” asked Yang Zhenshan.

Somewhat embarrassed, Luo Feiyu explained, ”We were discovered; lost all the cattle and sheep and rode back on horses!”

Yang Zhenshan grinned. This fellow was quite bold, daring to venture deep into the Wula Tribe’s territory.

But this also showed that Luo Feiyu was scouting the situation of the Wuliang Hu Clan, though his scouting methods were not as sophisticated as Zhou Lan’s.

Zhou Lan had even managed to establish a Hu Clan tribe on her own, a bold move that Yang Zhenshan himself had not anticipated.

Yang Zhenshan took out a Jade Box and handed it to him, ”Three Yellow Plums. Have some!”

”Three Yellow Plums?” Luo Feiyu exclaimed in surprise.

”Yes, you’ve been at the Postnatal Ninth Layer for three years now. Eating these should allow you to quickly condense Innate True Qi!” Yang Zhenshan said.

It was as though his visit was specifically to distribute Three Yellow Plums.

In fact, he had been wanting to give out some Three Yellow Plums for a while, but without handing them over personally, he didn’t feel secure about it, as he couldn’t explain where the plums came from.

Last year, the Spiritual Spring Space harvested twelve Three Yellow Plums, sixteen the year before that, and this year there would be even more.

He was no longer short on Three Yellow Plums, and as time passed, he would have more and more.

Besides Three Yellow Plums, there were also Ice Heart Fruits, of which there were even more. In a few years, Three Yellow Plums and Ice Heart Fruits in his possession will be as common as ordinary fruits.

”Thank you, brother-in-law. From now on, you are like my parents reborn. Whatever brother-in-law asks me to do, I shall do!” Luo Feiyu rattled off with his glib tongue.

Yang Zhenshan gave him a playful punch, ”Cultivate properly and become an Innate Martial Artist sooner. That way, you’ll be safer in Chongshan Town.”

Luo Feiyu was taken aback, ”Safer? What danger would we face in Chongshan Town?”
