Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1934: Rune of Civilization

Wu Hong left the commanderʼs mansion and headed to hers, located in the Earth Sovereign World. A lot had happened in a short period, and she needed some time alone. So, the first thing she did when alone was study her new power: the Saint Dao Heart. During the short battle with Liang Zhelang, she realized the thing had many applications, and she would be irresponsible if she didnʼt understand them.

After the adaptation, Wu Hong spent a few days studying Liang Zhelangʼs Genesis Artifact, which didnʼt dissipate with her since it was sealed. With this sample in hand, Wu Hong was more confident in creating the Quasi-Saint Realm for the Emperor Path.

Wu Hongʼs retreat only took a year in true time, which was not nearly enough time. However, the situation was rapidly changing, and now was not the time to be relaxing. After exiting, Wu Hong met her avatar that was overseeing things in her absence. Long Aojing cannot be trusted, so Wu Hong couldnʼt ignore everything while retreating.

”Whatʼs the next step?” the avatar asked.

”The Battle Spirit Plan cannot be altered.”

”But how do you plan to proceed? Do you think your Saint Dao Heart can protect everybody from the Forbidden Knowledge Curse? Would people even accept your tutelage knowing they might die?”

”I donʼt know if I can protect them, but there is no need. I wonʼt rely on them anymore.”

The avatar frowned. ”You plan on doing everything yourself? Thatʼs a lot of work. Even if I help, it will still take a long time.”

”Donʼt worry, I have a way.”

”Alright. Then, whatʼs next? We should start planning for the future.”

”We need the power to deal with Saints,” Wu Hong replied.

”Thatʼs good and all, but how do we achieve that? The Destiny Hope Array does have potential, but it requires a large population. Even if we start building Artificial Chaos Worlds now, itʼs unknown when weʼll meet the requirements. Plus, the array spirits still have the majority of control; weʼll be restrained by it.”

”Which is why we need to build our own.”

”Thatʼs easier said than done,” the avatar sighed. ”Building from scratch requires Saint resources, and the only places that have those are the holy lands. Do you plan on accepting their offer?”

”I havenʼt decided yet.”

”Yes, we canʼt really trust them so easily,” the avatar nodded. ”But even if we can build the array, there is still the issue of backlash. Donʼt you remember what happened after your fight with Ying Zheng? If you use the power of a Saint again, youʼll ruin your potential.”

”With the Dao Sea, the backlash wonʼt be as severe, but you are right; we need to plan,” Wu Hong nodded.

”It seems you have thought of everything. Then, how do we start?”

”I need you to bring me as many hardcore prisoners as you can,” Wu Hong replied.

”For what?”

”Just do it.”

”Alright. Any other requirements?”

”Cultivation must be as high as possible, and you should also include as many Emperor Paths cultivators as possible.”

”Will do.”

A few hours later, the avatar brought more than 100,000 prisoners. Wu Hong did not hesitate to turn her soul into spirit particles and embed them into these prisonersʼ souls, instantly turning them into her puppets or semi-clones. As many flaws Liang Zhelang had, her ability to control people — both physically and emotionally — was top tier, and Wu Hong learned a lot from her Death Substitute Technique.

Using the spirit particles as mediums, these prisoners became mini-Wu Hongs, with access to her skills and knowledge reserve. The downside is that their free will is gone, and a few of them wonʼt even live long despite their [Immortality] since their [Existence] was overridden.

With these people under her control, the creation of the Battle Spirit System returned on track. And as the avatar brought in even more prisoners, Wu Hong also began building the artificial Chaos Worlds. The Red Cloud did not just watch as its enemy improved. The invasion of the Borderworlds increased, and more importantly, the curse was once again activated. Unfortunately, the targeted people were just an extension of Wu Hong, meaning they were protected by her Saint Dao Heart. In fact, each attempt at corrupting them was a form of training for Wu Hong.

And once the project was launched, a brief period of peace descended on the world. As Wu Hong predicted, the people reveled in the opportunity to contribute to the war effort, which in turn drastically increased the amount of [Hope Power] created. With the borders secure and the addition of the new Chaos Worlds, the population boomed, increasing the amount of hope and forming a cycle of improvement. The only anomaly was how quiet the central area had been, with almost no attempts at interfering.

The entire project took 37 yuan epochs. To be precise, the Battle Spirit only took 10 yuan epochs, but there were a few issues — mainly with perfectly integrating this new system with the Destiny Hope Array — so the entire thing was perfected years later.

Five thousand years after the perfection of the system, Wu Hong suddenly felt like it was a good idea to travel the world. Without hesitation, she began touring most of the worlds in the Borderworlds, witnessing the immense change.

At some point, she found herself in a small village in one of the newly created Chaos Worlds called Painting Earth. A group of students surrounded another one, who stood proudly like a peacock trying to attract a mate.

”Dog ear, is it true your father killed a Destructo General?”

”Thatʼs right. One of these cursed beasts tried to destroy the base during an invasion, and my dad was on guard duty. He fought tooth and nail and killed. Although he lost his Battle Spirit, he was still victorious.”

”Damn, youʼre so lucky.”

”Itʼs not luck; itʼs ability. My old man has always been extraordinary.”

”Who are you kidding? If he was extraordinary, would he have been a guard his entire life?”

”Song Xing, shut up”

”Did I say something wrong?”

”Hehe, donʼt mind him, guys; he loves to eat vinegar, and I love watching him do it,” Dog Ear sneered. All the other students laughed.

”You!”

”Yes, letʼs ignore him.”

”Dog Ear, what did your dad get?”

”What you should be asking is what didnʼt he get?”

”Did he get a Life Extension Pill?”

”He received a bottle for each member of the family.”

”Really? I heard one pill is worth a fortune. So, youʼre rich?”

”Of course. I already heard my dad and mom talking about moving to the capital.”

”Is that so? Man, Iʼm so jealous.”

”By the way, is your dad going to be inducted into the Hall of Heroes?”

”Are you stupid? He only saved one base. How is that worthy of being in the Hall of Heroes?”

”Song Xing, didnʼt we tell you to shut up?”

”Yes, for years, youʼve used the fact your mother defeated an Elite Battalion to boss us around. But now that Big Ear is even more successful than you, we donʼt have to deal with your nonsense anymore.”

”Donʼt tell me what to do. Iʼm just telling the truth. His dad is a loser. How can he enter the Hall of Heroes?”

”Alright,” Dog Ear raised his hand. ”Although my dad didnʼt get into the Hall of Heroes, he did enter the Hall of Merit. He even met Commander Long and the Rune Sage.”

”What? He met the Sage?”

”Thatʼs right. She congratulated him and everything.”

”Really? Thatʼs so cool.”

”Dog Ear, youʼre a liar,” Song Xing yelled.

”Why would I lie about that? There is even a recording on the Battle World. Check my dadʼs profile, and youʼll see it.”

”You!”

”Letʼs go see it.”

The invisible Wu Hong calmly observed everything and kept doing so. She watched how Dog Earʼs fatherʼs life changed. Famous painters came to draw portraits of him; poems and music mythologizing his legendary battle were created. Dog Ear Senior did not move to the capital as previously planned. Instead, he used all his earnings to build his village into a developed city, garnering the love and adoration of the people.

After that battle, Dog Ear Seniorʼs career as a Spirit Master was mediocre. He never defeated another Destructo General again in his life, and most of his expeditions failed. He died at the age of 549 years old, not because of old age, but because of constant damage to his soul. While mortals will not die from the destruction of their Battle Spirit, each destruction will damage their soul slightly.

Meanwhile, Dog Ear followed his father and had an illustrious career. Before his death, he not only entered the Hall of Merit, but he also entered the higher Hall of Honor. His son was a cultivator and entered the frontline; their entire family became a pillar in the war.

For more than a million years, Wu Hong watched Dog Earʼs lineage fight and die against the Destructo Race. And as the last member of their lineage died, Wu Hongʼs eyes turned bright: ”I was right. Unlike the Alpha Rune, which is the manifestation of the laws of the universe in its early stage of creation, the Omega Rune represents [Civilization]—it represents their writings, culture, customs, and way of life.

”The Alpha Rune is innate; itʼs the embodiment of natural creation, Heaven and Earth, while the Omega Rune is acquired, the representation that life once existed and prospered — it represents [Human].”
