I Married the President

Chapter 497: Chapter 497: Just How Much Influence Does Claire Sinclair Have?

”Sure, when?” Ethan Kingsley agreed almost without a second thought.

Seeing this, both the director and Cecily Taylor gaped in astonishment.

’Just how much pull does Claire Sinclair have...?’

Claire Sinclair said politely, ”The final episode will be filmed on the last day of the month and broadcast live online. We’ll need Mr. Kingsley to arrive at the camp two days in advance for filming. In total, it will take three and a half days.”

Ethan Kingsley beamed as if he’d just heard the best news of his life. ”Great. I’ll have my assistant adjust my schedule. I’ll definitely be there on time.”

”Thank you, Mr. Kingsley!” Claire Sinclair said, thanking him from the bottom of her heart.

’She knew Ethan Kingsley would never refuse. Mr. Quincy’s online popularity had been soaring lately, while Ethan’s had taken a dive. This was a chance for him to get back in the spotlight, an opportunity he wouldn’t miss.’

’As for whether this would affect Mr. Quincy’s campaign, she hadn’t given it any thought. After all, it was Mr. Quincy himself who had suggested it to her the previous night.’

’In any case, Mr. Quincy must have had other motives.’

Just as she was getting lost in thought, the director suddenly spoke up. ”Professor Sinclair, do you know Young Master Kingsley well?”

Cecily Taylor snorted. ”How could they not be? She’s Young Master Kingsley’s ex-girlfriend.”

She seemed to think she was stating a simple fact, completely oblivious to the sourness in her own voice.

Claire Sinclair shot back unexpectedly, ”Professor Taylor, gossip can be a nasty thing. My relationship with Mr. Kingsley is completely innocent, so please watch your words.”

Cecily Taylor bit her lip and said resentfully, ”Fine. I admit you’re well-connected. Since the director is so insistent on replacing me, there’s no point in me staying. Talk to my agent about the contract termination fee. Now if you’ll excuse me.”

With that, Cecily Taylor swept out of the room.

Only Claire Sinclair and the director were left in the meeting room.

The director watched until Cecily Taylor’s figure disappeared from view, then turned back to Claire Sinclair. ”Professor Sinclair, about Young Master Quincy and Sheryl Drake...”

”Don’t worry, Director. I spoke with Mr. Quincy last night, and he said he’s coming. He also called my cousin last night, and she agreed to come too. If you’re still worried, I’ll call her right now.”

As she spoke, Claire Sinclair raised her phone and called Sheryl Drake.

Sheryl Drake was always busy, so Claire Sinclair got straight to the point. ”Cousin, it’s Claire. The director asked me to confirm whether you’re coming to be a mentor on *Shining Star*.”

”Yes, I’m coming. Tell him I’ll definitely be there. I’m boarding now, I’ll be there in about five hours. See you then.”

And just like that, the call ended.

Claire Sinclair looked up at the director. ”Well, Director?”

The director was grinning from ear to ear. ”Professor Sinclair, thank you for doing me such a huge favor.”

”Don’t mention it. I felt terrible that I threw a perfectly good show into chaos. I just hope the three lifesavers I’ve found can bring some new energy to the production.”

”They absolutely will!” the director declared, patting his chest with confidence.

With these three high-profile figures joining, *Shining Star* was bound to become the shining star of all the talent shows in recent years!

After finishing her talk with the director, Claire Sinclair had to get back to her duties, since Ethan Kingsley and Mr. Quincy were only coming to film the final episode.

Things with Cecily Taylor were likely to get complicated. For now, they just had to wait for Sheryl Drake to arrive. The production team couldn’t continue filming until her contract was signed.

Worried that the contestants might start spreading rumors, Claire Sinclair headed to the camp dormitories to check on the kids.
