I Married the President

Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Can’t Withstand the Pressure Anymore

On the way to the camp, Claire Sinclair picked up her phone and logged into Weibo.

She thought The Great Demon King Quincy visiting the set would be a trending topic, but surprisingly, it wasn’t. Instead, she herself was trending, and for a pretty ridiculous reason.

A group of trainees had been eliminated yesterday, and they apparently held a grudge against her. They ganged up to ”expose” her, unanimously claiming that she used her wealth and power to randomly eliminate trainees she disliked, that the scoring criteria weren’t transparent, and so on.

The hashtag #ClaireSinclairGetOutOfShiningStar was once again pushed to the forefront of public discussion. The online crusade against her grew more intense. Even some other media outlets couldn’t stand by and watch, publishing editorials to speak up for the eliminated contestants.

The show’s official Weibo account also received its highest number of comments ever—over 500,000—all demanding that Claire Sinclair get kicked off the show.

This time, the production team couldn’t withstand the pressure and issued a statement: ”Half of the Shining Star competition has already been filmed. We will be revealing the two hidden evaluation criteria in the next broadcast episode. The doubts surrounding Claire Sinclair will also be addressed in the newest episode. Lastly, we remind everyone to be mindful of their words and actions.”

In fact, according to the original plan, the show had always intended to reveal these two hidden evaluation criteria after the halfway point to ensure everyone was convinced of the process. By the halfway mark, the remaining contestants were almost all artists with good moral character, so the subsequent ethics tests would also become much more lenient.

Claire Sinclair had no complaints about the production team’s arrangement, because she felt that this kind of ethics evaluation was precisely what the entertainment industry lacked today.

Thinking about this, Claire Sinclair felt a sense of relief. She posted a sentence on her Weibo: ”If I’ve truly done something wrong, I will reflect and apologize. But what if you’re the ones who are wrong? Will you apologize to me?”

Just as she sent the post, Adrian Quincy snatched her phone away. He opened the camera, pulled her into his arms with one hand, and snapped a picture.

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”What are you doing?”

Adrian Quincy calmly opened her Weibo, deleted the post she had just made, and then uploaded the photo he had just taken with a simple caption: ”Don’t be mad. I’m here.”

Looking at the five words he wrote, Claire Sinclair felt a flicker of warmth in her heart. She couldn’t help but wrap her arms around his strong waist. ”When I’m with you, I’m not mad anymore.”

Adrian Quincy kissed her hair, the corners of his lips turning up in a slight smile.

The two arrived at the Shining Star camp. Since they hadn’t notified the production team this time, Adrian Quincy’s arrival once again caused a small commotion.

The director’s team had someone add a chair for Adrian Quincy, allowing him to sit beside Claire Sinclair as a guest observer.

The production team sent a staff member over with a mission card.

Mimi Fisher took the card and read the mission out loud: ”Next, the four mentors will form four groups and lead their respective teams in head-to-head competitions. The team with the highest total score in the end will collectively receive a reward of 1,000,000 votes. The second-place team will receive 500,000 votes, third place 250,000 votes, and the last-place team will only get 100,000 votes.

The grouping rules are as follows: contestants will choose their mentor based on their popularity ranking from the last round. When a mentor’s team is full with nine members, subsequent contestants can no longer choose that mentor. Now, we invite the four mentors to campaign for themselves.”

After hearing the mission’s details, Claire Sinclair really wanted to roll her eyes.

’What idiot would choose my team? It’s not like I’m a professional mentor.’
