I Married the President

Chapter 457: Chapter 457: It’s Not Easy Being the Bad Guy

Claire Sinclair said, ”Professor Taylor, please rest assured. Any contestant who can make it to the end will absolutely not be eliminated by me, because the people I intend to eliminate won’t make it to the final round anyway.”

Cecily Taylor frowned. ”So you’re saying that the people we choose still have to get your approval to make it to the end?”

Claire Sinclair did her best to maintain a polite tone. ”If you have any questions, you should ask the director. I really can’t say more.”

Cecily Taylor’s face darkened instantly. She got up and went to find the director.

Mimi Fisher watched Cecily Taylor’s departing figure, a thoughtful look on her face. She finally turned to Claire Sinclair and said with a smile, ”Claire Sinclair, I really like your writing, especially that article you wrote criticizing us. I learned a lot from it. I believe you definitely have your reasons for the scores you gave the contestants. Thank you.”

Claire Sinclair: ”...”

’Being praised so suddenly feels a little strange.’

”I’m going to check on the contestants. Do you want to come along?” Mimi Fisher asked.

Claire Sinclair nodded. ”Sure, let’s go together.”

Master joined them as well.

The three of them walked to the contestants’ lounge area. The contestants immediately swarmed them, their enthusiasm fiery.

However, it was mostly Mimi Fisher consoling the contestants with poor scores. Claire Sinclair just walked around with them without saying much. The contestants didn’t seem to want to talk to her.

’It looks like the first scores I gave out completely destroyed any goodwill I’d built up with these kids.’

’Sigh... It’s not easy being the bad guy.’

With the broadcast of the first episode, Claire Sinclair undoubtedly shot to the top of the trending topics list.

#ClaireSinclairGetOutOfDazzlingStar# — She can’t sing or dance, just sits there like a fucking moron thinking she’s all that. She gives random scores and even eliminates contestants unfairly. Did the production team hire her as a joke?

Facing the infamy, Claire Sinclair was already used to it and acted as if she didn’t see any of it.

Because the topics flaming Claire Sinclair were so popular, they indirectly drove traffic to Dazzling Star. The production team didn’t offer a single word of explanation, letting the netizens curse her out as they pleased.

Claire Sinclair knew the rules of the game and didn’t say anything either, just shouldered the burden silently.

She finally got a day off. Claire Sinclair stayed in her hotel room, lying in bed and playing a mobile game.

Before she could even finish one round, she received a WeChat message from Taylor’s Highway.

Taylor’s Highway: Claire Sinclair, what is the meaning of this?

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow and typed back: What ”what is the meaning of this”?

Taylor’s Highway: I was nice enough to ask you to help me write an article, and you go and have your colleague screw me over behind my back?

Reading this, Claire Sinclair’s interest was suddenly piqued. She shot up into a sitting position.

’Looks like Teacher Hartwell succeeded.’

At this thought, Claire Sinclair eagerly opened the Astoria Daily app. Sure enough, she saw a news article about Taylor Palace Restaurant.

The news exposed that Taylor Palace Restaurant had failed its health inspections. A chef picked his nose and didn’t wash his hands, grabbing ingredients with his bare hands to toss in the wok. A vegetable washer didn’t even wash the produce, just trimmed it and sent it straight to the tables...

Due to the failed health standards, the health department conducted a surprise inspection and shut down all of the Taylor Palace Restaurant chain locations. The topic was now being heatedly discussed online.

Seeing this, Claire Sinclair felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

Returning to WeChat, she sent a reply to Taylor’s Highway: Mr. Taylor, I knew nothing about this. Besides, your restaurant clearly had problems, yet you asked me to write an article for you. Seems to me like you were the one trying to harm me, right?

Taylor’s Highway: You just wait. I will not let you get away with this!

Scape-Claire: What are you going to do?
