I Married the President

Chapter 454: Chapter 454: The Significance of Her Position

Additionally, there was another crucial evaluation: professionalism. Each contestant started with 100 ethics points. Claire Sinclair would deduct points based on their daily conduct. Once a contestant’s score dropped to 50, they would be immediately eliminated from the competition.

This was a hidden rule. Not only were the contestants unaware of this evaluation, but even the three celebrity mentors were kept in the dark. After all, professionalism isn’t something that can be taught; it relies entirely on self-discipline.

However, at the very beginning of the show, the production team had already given the contestants a hint to pay attention to their words and actions, or they might risk losing points.

Since both evaluations were secret, Claire Sinclair was prepared to be questioned. After all, a mentor like her, sitting beside three celebrity mentors, did seem somewhat redundant.

On the third day of filming, the contestants began their second-round evaluation: the theme song performance. On the surface, this segment had nothing to do with Claire Sinclair, but she still had to sit with the three celebrity mentors and observe the contestants’ performances.

If she saw them do anything that violated the code of professional conduct, she would dock points based on the severity of the infraction.

Cecily Taylor noticed Claire Sinclair occasionally jotting things down in her notebook and finally couldn’t help but ask, ”Professor Sinclair, this part of the competition doesn’t seem to involve you. What are you writing?”

The other two mentors also looked at Claire Sinclair curiously.

Claire Sinclair smiled faintly. ”I’m making notes on the contestants I like.”

Mimi Fisher asked, ”We’ve seen so many contestants now. Who’s your favorite?”

”I like Leonard Bishop. He’s very endearing,” Claire Sinclair said without hesitation.

In truth, his endearing nature was only one of the reasons she liked Leonard Bishop.

Leonard Bishop was a very sincere young man, not just toward himself, but to others as well. He was also highly self-disciplined in his personal life. During the first ethics test, he was the only contestant who found a lost phone, went around asking who it belonged to, and personally returned it to the owner.

Hearing this, Cecily Taylor couldn’t resist interjecting, ”Leonard Bishop’s overall skills are impressive, but because he’s so well-rounded, he doesn’t have a distinct personal style. It makes him unmemorable.”

Master countered, ”I think he’s very distinctive. His vocal tone, his rap, his look... he was the first contestant who stood out to me.”

Mimi Fisher nodded in agreement. ”I agree, I think Leonard Bishop is very unique.”

Hearing everyone disagree with her, Cecily Taylor was inwardly furious. She felt like they were ganging up on her, but her emotional intelligence was high. Instead of immediately firing back, she simply said, ”It looks like you all are quite fond of Leonard Bishop. I’m very interested to see who the viewers’ favorite will be once the show officially airs.”

The four mentors continued watching the remaining contestants’ performances. After viewing the videos for all 100 contestants, the day came to an end.

The four mentors submitted their individual scores, which the production team then tabulated to create the results cards.

The next morning at eight o’clock, all the contestants and mentors gathered in Hall 1.

Mimi Fisher, as the lead mentor, was to announce the results of the first theme song performance. It was only then that he also learned of the contestants’ scores from the first evaluation.

Mimi Fisher opened the first results card. He was just about to call out the first contestant’s name when the evaluation results caught his eye. His eyes widened in stunned disbelief.

After a long moment, he subconsciously turned to look at Claire Sinclair.

He finally understood the significance of her role. A handsome smile touched the corners of his lips as he looked back up at the contestants.
