Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1331: 1330 Smart Tongtong

Because Tongtong and Gu Kai don’t eat eggs.

Bai Yiyi only fried one egg and served a bowl of porridge for each of them, while she herself took only half a bowl.

Gu Kai frowned at the meager amount of porridge she had, “You’re not trying to diet like others, are you?”

“No, one egg and half a bowl of porridge is just right for me.” Bai Yiyi explained indifferently.

Her figure is so good, she doesn’t need to diet at all.

Gu Kai reached out, took her bowl of porridge and pushed his own full bowl towards her, bossily saying: “The bowl isn’t big, you won’t be full even if you finish a bowl.”

“…”

Bai Yiyi opened her mouth, and under Gu Kai’s stern gaze, she rolled her eyes and ate his full bowl reluctantly.

“Mommy, Daddy.” Tongtong looked at her parents interacting with each other and smiled joyfully, “Daddy, walk Mommy to class.”

The word ‘to’ was difficult for Tongtong to say, so she skipped it entirely.

Last night she went with her dad to pick up her mom from work, and this morning, she wanted to accompany her mom to work too. Most importantly, Tongtong liked being with her mom and dad.

“Okay, in a bit let Tongtong walk Mommy to work, but you have to finish your porridge first.” Gu Kai handed the spoon to Tongtong.

“Daddy together.”

Tongtong thought that Gu Kai meant for her to walk her mommy to work by herself, so she immediately said that she wanted daddy to go too.

“Tongtong, mommy doesn’t need you or daddy to walk her to work.”

“We’ll both walk you, hurry up and eat, Tongtong eat quickly too, if mommy and daddy finish eating and you don’t, you can’t go.”

“…”

Tongtong blinked her eyes, looked at Gu Kai, then at Bai Yiyi, and without saying another word, she lowered her head and earnestly ate her porridge.

Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi couldn’t help but smile at each other while watching Tongtong’s adorable manner.

The first to finish breakfast was Tongtong. She checked her bowl to make sure not a single grain of porridge was left before putting down her spoon and proudly declaring, “Tongtong is the first.”

“Yes, Tongtong is the first to finish. Let’s check to make sure it’s all clean.” Bai Yiyi said as she reached for Tongtong’s eyes: “Close your eyes, let mommy see if there’s anything on them.”

Tongtong obediently closed her eyes, her mouth stretching into a smile.

After a moment, Bai Yiyi lowered her hand and looked into Tongtong’s bowl, “Tongtong, there’s still some porridge left in your bowl.”

“Finished…”

Tongtong’s words got stuck in her throat.

The smile on her face froze because of the porridge in the bowl, her brow furrowed in confusion, “Tongtong finished it.”

“Tongtong, are you sure you finished everything?”

Gu Kai gave Bai Yiyi a stern look and watched Tongtong with a gentle smile.

“Finished it.”

Tongtong nodded seriously, remembering clearly that she checked twice and had finished everything.

Why does food always end up in her bowl?

“Alright, daddy believes you finished everything. It must be that the porridge likes you so much it jumped into your bowl, wanting you to eat it up; go ahead and finish it.”

“Okay.”

The smile immediately returned to Tongtong’s face.

“Tongtong, next time you have to keep a close watch on your bowl and not let any grains jump into it after you’ve cleaned it out, got it?”

“Got it.”

Tongtong giggled, and this time, instead of putting the bowl down like before, she turned it upside down and placed it on the table, making sure that Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi saw it clearly.

“Pfft—”

Bai Yiyi was amused by Tongtong’s actions and laughed out loud, while Gu Kai was smiling warmly and affectionately, “Our Tongtong is indeed smart, but we can’t cover the table with the bowl upside down, you have to think of another way.”

Tongtong pouted, troubled by the dilemma. She can’t place the bowl like that, so what should she do?

“Tongtong, do rice grains have legs?”

Gu Kai patiently inspired her.

Tongtong’s eyes widened in astonishment as she looked at Gu Kai, “No.” How could rice grains have legs?

“Then how did the porridge you were just eating get into the bowl?”

“Mommy, scooped it.”

Tongtong pointed her little finger at Bai Yiyi nearby.

Gu Kai nodded with a smile, “That’s right, rice grains don’t have legs, they can’t run into your bowl on their own, and the bowl of porridge you just ate was all scooped by mommy. So, you’re very sure you finished it, not a single grain left, right?”

Bai Yiyi watched the dialogue between the large and small, Gu Kai and Tongtong, one with an affectionate smile, the other as cute as an angel.

A warmth quietly rose in her heart, and somewhere at the bottom of her heart, it softened a little.

“Mhm.”

Tongtong nodded earnestly, she was certain, she had finished it, definitely finished.

“Now, let’s think about how those few grains of porridge got into your bowl just now, shall we?”

“Okay.”

Tongtong’s eyes shone brightly as she looked at her father, feeling that he was amazing and must know the reason.

“We just said, rice grains don’t have legs, they can’t run into the bowl on their own, and you are sure you finished it. Therefore, somebody must have put the rice grains in your bowl. Think about it, what did your mommy do just now?”

“Eyes.”

Tongtong pointed at her own eyes and blinked a few times, Gu Kai continued, “When Mommy told you to close your eyes, could you see your bowl?”

“No.”

Tongtong looked down at her bowl, then turned to look at Bai Yiyi. The clever girl finally understood, “Mommy.”

She wasn’t angry, her voice filled with pride and joy for her own discovery.

She now knew it was Mommy who had asked her to close her eyes and deliberately put porridge grains into her bowl.

“Tongtong is really smart, now that you know the reason, do you know what to do next time?”

“Not close, eyes.”

As Tongtong said this, she pointed her tender finger at her own eyes, then opened her clear, bright eyes even wider, staring at her bowl.

Bai Yiyi tried to hold back but couldn’t help bursting into laughter.

“Mommy, laughing.”

Tongtong pointed at Bai Yiyi, discontentedly tattling to Gu Kai.

Gu Kai’s eyes were also filled with laughter; Tongtong was like a joy-bringing pistachio given to them by heaven, “Tongtong, Mommy wasn’t laughing at you. She’s very proud that you’re so smart. Mommy put porridge grains in your bowl just now to make you use your brain to think about the problem, understand?”

“Understood.”

Tongtong half-understood, next time she also wanted to make Mommy use her brain to think about problems.

She was an action-driven little angel. Thinking of this, she immediately wanted to act, her big black eyes rolling around as she thought of the candy she had packed before going downstairs. Turning around, she crisply called out: “Mommy.”

Bai Yiyi stopped laughing, turned her head, and looked at her with a beaming smile, “What’s up, Tongtong?”

“Mommy, hug.”

As Tongtong spoke, she braced against the edge of the table and tried to stand up. Bai Yiyi blinked, fearing she would fall, and quickly reached out to hold her arm. Tongtong stood up.

With arms around Bai Yiyi, “Mommy, I love you.”

As Tongtong said this, one little hand reached into her pocket, fished out her candy, and attempted to sneak it into her mother’s bowl while she wasn’t looking. But the target was off, and with a slight sound, her candy fell onto the table.
