The atmosphere in the hospital room gradually froze, as the two men locked gazes.

After a while, Wen Jin spoke firmly, his voice cold, “As long as you won’t hurt Ranran, I will forever be her brother.”

The implicit message was, if he hurt Wen Ran, his role as her brother would no longer be simple.

A confident smile hooked the corner of MO Xiuchen’s mouth as he got up. “That day will never come. I wish you a speedy recovery and return to the company.”

With that, he no longer looked at Wen Jin.

He turned around and strode out of the room.

In the hospital bed, a layer of fog slowly covered Wen Jin’s stern brows.

A secret held for over ten years had been told today.

In fact, he wishes for her to know about her background more than anybody

Having been her brother for so many years, he was no longer satisfied with Ranran simply calling him her brother, he yearned for a different kind of emotion.

He still vividly remembers a night when his father, Wen Hongrui, called him into his study, and bluntly forbid him from having any thoughts about his sister.

Before then, he didn’t know much about Wen Ran’s past. He assumed that it was to comfort his mother, Wen Hongrui had her birthmark removed, allowing her to stay with them as Ranran.

But that night, Wen Hongrui told him the whole story and dashed the hopes he had harbored in his heart.

From then on, he was Ranran’s closest and most respected brother, nothing more.

At a graveyard in the crisp autumn wind:

Wen Jin, sitting in a wheelchair in front of a gravestone, was looking at the loving smiling faces of the man and woman on it. He spoke bitterly, “Dad, I’ve broken the promise I made to you to keep the secret you entrusted me with years ago. But don’t worry, I’m still Ranran’s brother, and I hope to always stand by her side in that capacity.”

That meant, Wen Ran’s happiness was guaranteed.

“Dad, you used to always say, there’s a payback for each act of kindness or evil. Now, I believe it. Because, the nightmare of Ranran’s life has also found an answer. The little boy she saved in her dreams, is none other than the current president of MS Group, MO Xiuchen. ”

“But, he has been very good to Ranran. He used to be good to her, and now that he knows she saved his life many years ago, he will treat her even better.”

Wen Jin smiled wistfully, his voice softening. “I have promised him. As long as he can make Ranran happy, I will forever be her brother. But, if one day, MO Xiuchen fails Ranran or hurts her, I will have to break the promise I made to you!”

A gust of wind blew past, carrying the chilling cold of late autumn, but it felt as comforting as a reply from his parents.

Wen Jin poured out some recent events to his parents, then looked up to see Li Qian standing not too far away. His gaze met hers and she hurried over.

Gu Kai wanted to accompany MO Xiuchen to see Wen Ran, but he had an emergency surgery to attend to, so he had to decline.

Knocking on the door of Wen Ran’s ottice, MO Xiuchen, unlike usual, did not wait outside. He went directly in without calling her first.

Upon hearing the door open, Wen Ran quickly looked up from her computer to meet his gaze. MO Xiuchen stood tall at the door, locking her gaze with his own, yet he did not step forward.

Wen Ran blinked and smiled brightly, “How come you’re here?”

As she spoke, she stood up from behind her desk, noticing that he remained at the door.

The smile in her eyes was replaced by confusion. She pressed her lips together before softly calling his name, “Xiuchen, what’s wrong?”

Perhaps it was her soft call that brought MO Xiuchen back to his senses.

Just then, seeing Wen Ran’s beautiful eyes reminded him of the time she saved him years ago.

His eyes shined with excitement as he closed the door behind him and quickly crossed the room. He enveloped her in a firm hug, his arms tightly wrapped around her.

The strong male scent familiar to her enveloped her. After an initial startle, her heart started to race.

She could sense MO Xiuchen’s rising emotions, but had no idea what had happened.

After a while, she lifted her face from his chest, her clear doe eyes reflected in his deep gaze, “Xiuchen.”

MO Xiuchen quietly took a deep breath, his hand sliding up to her head, gently releasing her tied-up hair.

He gently placed a kiss on her soft lips.

After a while, he released her, “Ranran, I love you!”

Wen Ran’s initially dazed eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

She looked at his handsome face, so close to hers, sculpted like a statue.

The gentle smile at the corner of his lips, his eyes no longer deep but clear.

Clearly reflecting her flushed cheeks.

She could barely believe it but he had confessed, he loved her!

During their two months of marriage, he had never said those words so directly.

He seemed to dislike sweet words of love, preferring to dominantly demand her attention on him.

But today, he confessed his love for her.

Wen Ran never realized that such a simple word, “love,” from his mouth could turn into a never-ending stream of sweetness and happiness, overwhelming her heart in an instant.

She looked at him, for a moment not knowing what to say.

After his confession, MO Xiuchen leaned down to kiss her again.

“Ranran, I don’t expect you to reciprocate my feelings right now. All I want is for you to stay by my side for the rest of my life, and never leave!”

The rest of a lifetime, such a long time, he was confident that Ranran would fall in love with him.

He was such a confident and proud man.

He loved her and naturally wanted her to love him too. But he wouldn’t force her, he preferred her to slowly start liking him, to gradually fall in love with him.

No one could separate her from him.

He had been searching for her for many years, and had finally found her. At this moment, he believed in the magic of fate, and was thankful for his intuition from years ago.

Because of that intuition, he approached her without any reservation, tying her to him.

Even though she didn’t know that she was the little girl he had been looking for all these years, he knew.

She was alive, contrary to what Cheng Jia had said.

He deeply kissed her, as if only such an act could reassure him that she was really by his side.

That’s all he needed..
