Chapter 700: Chapter 702: Kidnapping the Child, The Secret Guards Take Action

Lin Ping’er screamed, ”Guards, guards, stop her quickly!”

The guard on duty today was Zhang Liangcai. He flew to stop Wu Wanqing, but unexpectedly, Wu Wanqing brought four guards. They rushed into the yard together and stopped him in just a few moves. He was no match for the four of them, and he became anxious.

He knew there were many other guards nearby, unnoticed by the Bai family. He had privately asked his young mistress about them, and she told him they were from the Imperial Court and he shouldn’t worry too much. He had to continue his daily routine, but he couldn’t rely solely on them. He couldn’t let his guard down.

”Aren’t you going to help?” He called out, but unfortunately, none of the figures he expected appeared, and Wu Wanqing turned to laugh at him, her smile filled with contempt and triumph.

Zhang Liangcai trembled with anger, knocked to the ground by Wu Wanqing’s guards and vomiting blood, he realized that she had come with fearless confidence because she had already dealt with the guards outside!

”Despicable human, if you dare touch our young master, I swear I’ll make you wish you were dead!” Zhang Liangcai roared with his eyes bulging, but got kicked onto his chest by Wu Wanqing’s guard, causing him to vomit blood again.

Lin Ping’er rushed to hit Wu Wanqing, but a guard pressed two acupoints on her body, and she couldn’t move.

”Please don’t involve the child in your adult feuds. Please spare my Dengdeng,” Lin Ping’er cried and pleaded.

The other women and children in the yard all ran out but could not approach. Xiaosi, who was the only one who knew martial arts, was not home as he had gone to private school. Even if he were home, he would only end up injured.

At this moment, Wu Wanqing had found Dengdeng, holding him in her arms, her face extremely fierce.

”Don’t worry, I have no intentions of killing him. Who could harm such a cute baby?” she said, and she scratched Dengdeng’s tender face with her fingers, which had been soaked in Dan Kuo. Dengdeng seemed to sense the danger and started crying loudly.

Wu Wanqing frowned and grumbled, ”Babies are so annoying when they cry.”

Lin Ping’er’s heart was in her throat, afraid that Wu Wanqing, impatient, would throw Dengdeng to the ground. Unexpectedly, Wu Wanqing put on another smiling face, ”Don’t cry, do you want to play with your older sister in the future? My brother likes you, right? I want to see if Bai Ruozhu can still seduce my brother without you.”

She carried Dengdeng and stepped out of the main hall with an annoyingly sweet smile on her face. However, the next second, her smile froze.

A figure quietly dropped from the roof behind her. In only one second, she was immobilized by pressing an acupoint. The figure took the child back and retreated to one side.

Several more figures quickly emerged and swiftly took down Wu Wanqing’s men. Wu Wanqing stood still, watching the turn of events. She was so angry her face turned red, ”Didn’t you say you wouldn’t interfere?” As she spoke, her face suddenly changed color, ”No, you’re not from the Prime Minister’s office!”

The figures were all dressed in black, their faces veiled. The apparent leader had a murderous look. Maybe he thought Wu Wanqing was too noisy, he turned and slapped her. Wu Wanqing was slapped away and because her acupoint had been pressed, she stayed immobile and unable to move when she fell.

She retched and spat out blood, her blood was mixed with two broken teeth. It’s clear just how hard that slap hit.

”Bastards, my father won’t let this go!” she said through gritted teeth, then couldn’t help but cough. Her side of the face swelled up like a dumpling.

The man who hit her looked at Zhang Liangcai and said, ”Go and report to the officials, so they can arrest her.” He raised his voice and looked at the sky, ”Whoever dares to obstruct, kills without mercy!”

Zhang Liangcai was lying on the ground, and he looked up at the man in black, feeling the man to be extraordinarily tall, as if he were some celestial being. But who were they? His voice was extremely hoarse—clearly done to disguise his identity and prevent being recognized.

He slowly got up, ”Yes, I’ll go now.” After saying this, he hesitated for a moment, ”Should I inform the young mistress first?”

”Just go when told to, don’t talk nonsense!” said the man, with a sudden drop in temperature in his voice.

Zhang Liangcai hurried to the entrance, not daring to say another useless word.

The man in black signaled, and two figures disappeared, obviously to keep an eye on Zhang Liangcai, in case someone stopped him halfway.

The men from the Prime Minister’s office hidden outside dared not come in. Someone quietly asked the team leader, ”The young lady has been beaten like that, are we really not going to do anything about it?”

”If you think your life is too long, you can go. See if the third young master will disable you!” the team leader sighed with remorse and sadness in his eyes and said, ”The third young master wouldn’t kill us, but he won’t trust us anymore.”

”We have no choice. The young lady holds the Prime Minister’s token in her hand. How can we not obey?” The man muttered in a low voice.

Meanwhile, in the yard, the man in black has released Lin Ping’er from the acupoint lock and returned Dengdeng to her. He tilted his head toward the room, indicating that Lin Ping’er should take the child inside to avoid any danger. Lin Ping’er thanked him in tears, then went back into the house to comfort the child.

Soon, the officers arrived. They had no idea who Wu Wanqing was and arrested her together with her guards.

When Bai Ruozhu received the news and hurried back to the yard, Wu Wanqing was already under interrogation by the Government Office.

Bai Ruozhu looked at the decisive man in black and smiled, ”Not bad, but if you make decisions without consulting me again, don’t blame me for not showing mercy.” She was still smiling as she spoke, but there was a murderous look in her eyes.

The man respectfully bowed to Bai Ruozhu, said in a husky voice, ”I wouldn’t dare.”

Bai Ruozhu took out a bottle of medicine from her sleeve and said, ”Take this to treat your throat. Even if your voice can’t be restored, at least it can relieve the pain.”

The man looked at Bai Ruozhu in surprise. Everyone else thought he had disguised his voice, but they didn’t know that it was the result of being captured by an enemy who had force-fed him poison during an interrogation. His master noticed it at a glance and even offered him medicine. This master was truly extraordinary, no wonder Master Lin had chosen her.

Bai Ruozhu told him to retire, then went indoors to comfort her mother and Dengdeng whose eyes were also a bit swollen from crying.

”Mother, I’m sorry I alarmed you,” Bai Ruozhu said with a distressed expression. She then held Dengdeng, gently patting his back.

”I didn’t think she could be so wicked. Even if she likes Chang Sheng, she shouldn’t steal someone else’s child.” Lin Ping’er said, a little annoyed, ”Who is Chang Sheng getting involved with after all.”
