Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 651: Chapter 653: I Am Wiping Your Mouth for You

Bai Ruozhu felt a sudden warmth in her heart. She had seen a similar scene on the street before – a couple from an ordinary family with a child slightly older than Dengdeng who was also a chubby boy. The man in that family had said, ”Let me hold the child, you can rest a bit.”

At that time, she was particularly envious, thinking that it would be wonderful to have a husband and a father for her child who could care and help her.

Remembering this, she didn’t insist on holding Dengdeng anymore, and Dengdeng was having a great time playing with his father, no longer clinging to his mother.

”Why did you come here?” Bai Ruozhu asked softly.

”You were out for so long and didn’t come back, so I came out to check on you,” Jiang Yichun said, teasing Dengdeng again. ”Let’s talk while we walk.”

Both of them were exceptionally attractive, and the child in Jiang Yichun’s arms was unusually adorable, so the couple quickly attracted a lot of attention on the streets.

Bai Ruozhu frowned slightly and whispered, ”Aren’t you going to wear your mask? Why do you always wear a mask when you come to see me?”

Jiang Yichun sighed and said, ”Didn’t you know when you first came to Beiyu City that I don’t have to wear a mask? At the Wu Residence, I am the second young master and don’t need to wear a mask when going out. I only put on the mask when I need to visit Anyuan Town and its vicinity as Mr. Yi.”

Speaking, he moved a little closer to her, ”So when I met Meng Liangshen, I was wearing the mask as Mr. Yi. As for interacting with your family, it’s because they are people from the Anyuan Town area. I can’t let them know that Mr. Yi and the second young master of the Wu Residence in Beiyu City are the same person.”

Bai Ruozhu uttered a sound of understanding, thinking that multiple identities are indeed troublesome.

”What’s the deal with Madam Wang?” her voice was lowered even further.

Jiang Yichun moved even closer to her, seeing her deep in thought, he took the chance to wrap his arm around her shoulders, as if trying to tell a secret without being overheard.

”I overheard them looking for Madam Wang, so I went to see her in advance and asked her if there was anything special she could remember. Fortunately, she really did remember something.” He said with a sly smile.

Bai Ruozhu gave him a sidelong glance, ”Just like that? It doesn’t seem to be.”

Jiang Yichun tightened his arm around her and winked at her, saying, ”Just like that, your husband is straightforward in handling matters, haven’t you seen it before?”

Bai Ruozhu snorted and muttered, ”Show-off.”

Jiang Yichun raised his eyebrows, wondering what ”show-off” meant. Surely, it wasn’t a compliment.

As Bai Ruozhu was led forward by him, she was preoccupied with her thoughts and seemingly forgot about his hand. By the time she realized it, she slapped his hand away and said sternly, ”Keep your distance from me. Aren’t we supposed to divorce?”

Upon hearing the word ”divorce”, Jiang Yichun wished he could slap himself twice. Why did he always tell Ruozhu to divorce Chang Sheng before?

”Well, it’s noon now. Let’s go eat at Yingke.” Jiang Yichun moved closer to Bai Ruozhu again.

”Forget it, I’ll treat you, I can save some money.” Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes at him.

They arrived at Yingke, quickly ordered dishes, asked the kitchen to boil a plain egg, which was then mashed with plain rice porridge to make supplementary food for Dengdeng.

The task of feeding was handed to Jiang Yichun. Bai Ruozhu was initially concerned, worried that Jiang Yichun’s clumsy hands might scald her precious son. But she soon discovered that her worries were unnecessary – the father and son duo were enjoying the meal very much, and Dengdeng was not fussy at all, behaving exceptionally well in his father’s arms.

Happy that she could relax, she had a good meal.

”So the matter of going to the capital is sorted now?” She looked up and asked after finishing most of her meal.

”Once the matter with the prince of Chengshui Country is resolved, we still have to go. You and Dengdeng can go with me,” He looked at Bai Ruozhu and flirted. ”With you by my side, no one would dare to arrange marriage proposals for me.”

Bai Ruozhu took a deep breath, this guy was already handsome, tolerable when he had a cold face, but casting a flirtatious glance could stun people. Unsurprisingly, she felt her face warming up.

”No, my family is here.” She turned her face away, hiding the tiny flutter in her heart.

Jiang Yichun suddenly moved his face closer and lifted her chin with his hand, forcing her to look at him.

”You can accompany me on a trip to the capital, we’ll be back soon, isn’t that okay? Do you bear to separate the child from his father?”

For a moment, they were very close. She could feel his warm breath sweeping across her face, this proximity made her unable to look at him directly. She avoided his gaze and said hesitantly, ”We’ll, we’ll see.”

A smirk curled up on the corner of Jiang Yichun’s mouth. His face drew closer and suddenly his tongue darted out, giving her a lick on the corner of her mouth. Bai Ruozhu’s face turned red all the way to her neck. She moved back a little and said angrily, ”What are you doing? We’re outside.”

”I did nothing, just helping you wipe your mouth,” He gestured at the corner of his mouth, ”You had cream there.”

Bai Ruozhu quickly wiped the corner of her mouth. The cream was gone, but there was some moisture left, a trace of where he had just licked. She felt her face and fingertips burning - she had been too delighted eating the orange snow charm earlier, and had inadvertently smeared cream on the corner of her mouth.

How could this guy not simply say it? She could have easily wiped it off with a handkerchief, who in the world wipes cream off with their tongue? It was, well, too flirtatious!

Just as she was about to speak, footsteps and a soft feminine voice came from outside, ”Are Third Senior Brother and Miss Bai inside?”

Bai Ruozhu frowned. Why was Wu Wanqing here?

”Miss Bai, it’s Young Master Xu and Miss Wu who are seeking to see you,” The shopkeeper said outside. As Bai Ruozhu had invited Xu Huilin for a meal before, the shopkeeper remembered that they knew each other and led them in.

Upon entering the room, Xu Huilin gave Jiang Yichun a bitter smile and shrugged. Had he known that Jiang Yichun and Bai Ruozhu would be here, he wouldn’t have brought Wu Wanqing in the first place.

”What a coincidence, we’re not disturbing you, are we?” Wu Wanqing entered with a smug smile, as if she intended to sit next to Jiang Yichun.

Bai Ruozhu gave her a cold look and said, ”It is a bit disturbing, my son can’t sleep when there are too many strangers.”

Wu Wanqing bit her lip, but the smile remained on her face, ”Then let’s talk quietly, Second Senior Brother.” After saying this, she sat down in the seat next to Jiang Yichun.

The look in Jiang Yichun’s eyes darkened, and he slid closer to Bai Ruozhu, pressing close to her.

Xu Huilin watched them and snickered, then moved to sit on the other side of Wu Wanqing.

Wu Wanqing was so angry she was grinding her teeth. She looked at Jiang Yichun reproachfully, ”Third Senior Brother, you barely have time for your junior sister now. You only have eyes for Miss Bai.”

Jiang Yichun didn’t even raise his head. ”She is my soon-to-be wife, and will also be your sister-in-law in the future. If my eyes aren’t on her, who else would they be on?”

Bai Ruozhu gave Jiang Yichun a smile. She was quite satisfied with his performance now.
